xp The first line is amusing. Not sure if the spoken part was intended as a reference, and I can't remember the original, but it's definitely funny regardless. And Hobson using his fingertip is fun.
It's interesting Hobson would choose to read law, thinking about it: a lawyer who also happens to be a potential secret weapon for the US. Of course, the 'metagame' side of me states that lawyers are the best kind to find a loophole to abuse to carry out their objective. Nevertheless, it indicates he's pretty intelligent.
Married to an empath?
xd I assume Susie's no longer teaching: leaves the question of whether she left openly, or whether the ASM and the school couldn't be considered connected insofar as actually employing a figurehead (regardless of how many teachers are
supporters - it might look bad if one of the leaders (?) was actually stationed there).
Hobson's ability to prevent the truck exploding via his powers is interesting: is that something most fire based Abberants can pull off, or another of his little ingenuities?
Interesting, incidentally, that Hobson's vision is simply of self-government (i.e. respecting them as people, rather than weapons), rather than actual superiority per se. I suspect that differs from Cal's and many other ASM supporters' opinions (some of whom, no doubt, consider that Aberrants should rule Mundanes).

The way Rene's ability works is strange. It sort of means that against friends, she's very unlikely to harm them seriously. Against enemies though, she'd probably pull something quick and effective. Against someone she
really dislikes, the result could be far worse. The question will eventually arise, I suppose, of whether she can create multiple specific objects.
Very mobile, Weston is. It'd be very interesting to see if he could hold up against Laura, seeing as both of them would be able to manipulate the air itself to some extent.
Gendou
Or perhaps it was simply because she completely confident in her ability to defeat Weston.
Considering the ending: hmmmmm.

The glitches aspect is still interesting with Rene. Could a transmutation backfire and create something harmful to her somehow (e.g. something extremely explosive on contact with oxygen)? Even if she can control it to some extent, as an unprecedented Alpha with no control mechanism beside Hammond (I would originally have thought he would have to be present at all times, esp. considering she can alter human structures [hairloss] ), it still suprises me somewhat that they are training her with other students. Especially since the accident with Ian.
How much does Weston's control of air rely on his arm mobility (seeing as he uses them to direct it). Is that a potential weakness, beyond obvious physical attacks? Or, indeed, can he use his powers normally without arm movements, and make them more directable or powerful with movements. Rene, and others, are always more introspective about their powers (in that respect, Rene is more like a Beta), whereas Weston seems to think much less: does he already know his limits, and how to bend them, or is he just working with what's natural?

Meg Pasternak? Healing Abberant?
I personally don't think Weston was aware of the teachers being unlikely to step in. Maybe subconsciously, but I still feel his attacks during the battle were much more due to a friendship with Rene than a fear that he might be unstoppable in the first place. I also think he was confident enough in his abilities to know that he could beat her as long as he dodges, and it's obvious he's got probably the best mobility there is (interestingly, he doesn't use the vacuum[-punch] effect to make himself run faster though - perhaps he simply hasn't thought of it?). Rene's interesting in that she
did think the teachers would step in if things got out of hand: but considering the extremely volatile nature of her ability, how much would they realistically be able to help? She seems much more concerned with how to
use her powers than what effect using them might have, and how truly dangerous they are.
