Aye! West removed her human spectacles, causing Levi's vision to blur terribly. This would not bode well for her already wobbly walking. Where'd ya put 'em?! No, the tatzel human couldn't see them on himself. There were lighter blobs moving vertically with colors of what Levi could at least understand was his hair. The blobs were arms moving up? Levi squinted hard as if that would help her to focus and better her vision.

Can't see 'bout'a finger in front'a- EAT it? Kekekekeke~ wouldn't want's eat it 'er nothin' right outta tha'tank. Yes, she would.

So where'd we start? Much like an elderly person, Levi wobbled a step or two in one direction, squinting with a low hunch and stretched out neck, trying to see the line of shops in a distance. Blurs of color and light were what she saw.

"Here here here, hold up," West said, striding forward in an attempt to cut her off before she went and walked into a wall of lips or training bras. Humans had those sorts of things, right? He removed her glasses from his face and slid them back onto hers, careful not to poke her in the eye. "They're not that strong." He didn't say he was sorry for taking them, in fact, he had quite the stupid grin on his face as he squinted ahead, demonstrating that perhaps this human body might have benefited from corrective eyewear as well. He pointed at a store that, coincidentally enough, had a giant red plastic fish hanging outside.

"How 'bout there?" he asked. It seemed like a fairly run of the mill minipet shop, but the animals scampering around in the windows lacked the sparkliness and horrificness of the ones back home. He thought he could see tanks in the back, but he wasn't in a hurry to get there or anything, at least not until she agreed to go inside.

"Truth be told, I do not think we can afford a fascinating artifact," Malodore admitted, peeling the mask off of its face. The edges were pressing uncomfortably into its fragile flesh, leaving red lines behind. "Even the so-called 'sexy' clothing would exceed our budget, if I am properly analyzing their prices... perhaps we should purchase something of moderate interest instead."

It wandered over to a display of fake blood. "Maybe a chemical substance? It could be analyzed."

Mot stared at his twenty dollars with curiosity. It was an ambiguous amount of money, really. Seeds could be counted one by one. This.. twenty in one piece of paper? Curious...

The grim reaper wandered about, staring into stores for something to bring back to Halloween.

When would one get a chance like this again? It was the perfect opportunity to learn. Mot found a small book store inside the mall. Perfect. They must have books about humans in a human book store. Right? Mot flipped through various editions on plant life, weather and social aspects of human life. There was way too much reading material, and according to the listed prices, he couldn't afford much more than one.

There were books on preparations for zombie apocalypses, or how to date said zombies. This baffled Mot, for he was pretty sure zombies were supposed to be something to fear as far as humans went. Why were they interested in such frivolous things like where to take them on a date? These humans were wacky.

Books on dragons. Books on Romances.... oh wow.. Romance must be very prominent in human culture, for there was a whole aisle dedicated to the escapades of someone called Harlequin and their many romances.

"Tsk tsk.. imagine the mould they must have..." Mot scowled and shook his head.

Books on the human condition, and their anatomy. Their minds and so forth. Wow, even humans themselves needed manuals on how to be human. Poor creatures. So complicated.

Finally he found a book that he felt would suit his interests. No, not western novels. It was something all beings of halloween knew well. Big Book Of Fears. Wait, humans were teaching their children about fear? Oh dear... what if they no longer feared anything? After all, knowledge is power! Drat. Mot frowned and set down the book. It would be harder to harvest fear if they were not afraid.

Mot sighed and ruffled his hair. He wanted his purchase to be a smart one. He wasn't about to just buy anything. No, it had to be special.

There seemed to be a shelf on pets, which intrigued Mot since all of his pets were absolute trouble makers. Well... No. This wouldn't help him with mini pets.

Mot groaned again and just sat down in the middle of an aisle.

< Students, your Human World time is almost finished! You should return back to me with your findings as soon as possible. >

All students would hear the professor regardless of their location in the Human World hugging zone. A few Deth attendants were already helping some students with their obtained merchandise. < Make sure you have your merchandise inspected, so it may go into Halloween. As you know, regular Human world items may sometimes crumble or dissipate when it enters Halloween. This is why it is important to take procedures to preserve these wonderful Human items, as each one is a rich example of their culture
!
>

The professor was currently lounging on the bench next to the fountain, though that Human girl it had been interacting with was nowhere to be seen. < When you are ready, simply take off your pin, and you will find yourself back in the classroom. There is a survey on the table. You can fill out the survey again about this field trip, and drop off your homework to a gnome waiting. Please do not leave yet, after everyone is back, we still have one more important topic to address!>

OOC

- Students can now EXIT THE MAUL. Simply write EXITING MAUL on top of your post whenever your character is wrapped up and ready, and take off their pin. After handing their "homework" to a gnome, they will need to wait for everyone to arrive back. In the meanwhile, they should take the survey!

THE SURVEY

- A gnome is passing around a survey. All students should fill one out and then hand it back to the gnome (just post it OOC it in your post)

Levi just raised a brow at West's human face as if she was any sort of menacing with her current appearance. Seem strong 'nuff fer me seein'. Dang thing's blinder than'a bat in'a- well, guess in'ere. Place is lit up like a jack-o-lantern. Levi began to move towards one of the smaller shops before turning to glance at West. Like yer hair too. She grinned and stepped into the place called "Candy Mountain." Intriguing- human candy? How would it measure up?

"Hi there! Can I help you today? We've got a sale going on for any purchases of our regular stock $10 and over ^^"

Levi nodded, not sure what sort of deal that was really given she had no idea what the value of anything was. Alright. Thanks.

Levi looked around for a moment before turning back to the attendant.

Got any worms 're fishies?

The young girl's ponytail visibly swayed to one side for a moment before she answered, understanding that this customer surely meant the gummy varieties. She was also quite perplexed by the voice coming out of this small girl, but nevertheless, a customer was a customer. "Why yes, actually! Our gummy worms are here in sour, fruit and cola varieties and~" Fish? "We have boxes of the new Smores Goldfish! if you're interested in those."

Oh~ n' how much are they? Levi's eyebrows rose when she looked at the box indicating that there were multicolored fish spookies inside.

"Those are 6.50 before tax." I see. Thank ya kindly. "No problem!" The attendant was clearly dismissed so she prepared to move over to the register, but first looking to West before she did. "Anything for you, sir?" They were about the same age appearance-wise, but the girl was still required to address him as a sir.

Picking up a box of the fishies, Levi was ready to pay and head out. Sold.

Riley frowned when she caught sight of the red lines, pressing her hand up against the side of Malodore's face and running a finger down the line carefully. She looked almost angered that the cheap mask had hurt the skin that she brushed so dearly. Masks had been her idea. Her intensity only grew when her thumb brushed down Malodore's chin, and rose up, running across his lips. She was still entranced with the idea of lips, both her own and now others. She didn't realize she was staring until she looked up, and remembered that Malodore had described the feeling of being touched on it's face as repulsive.

Her hand shot back behind herself instantly, and she turned away.

"If you want a chemical substance, we can buy one of those machines that claim to create the illusion of fog using a chemical compound and vaporization." She was already moving, a few steps away, to where she'd seen the boxes holding fog machines. She kept her face turned towards the machines, to hide the burning blush that she could feel heating her cheeks. "The price tag says 35 dollars. Does that sound acceptable?"

She... liked his hair? West didn't know quite what to make of that. Was she teasing him? It was harder to tell while she was wearing this face. From what he could see, it looked like someone had given a vaisel on hallucinogens some finger paints and told them to go to town on his hair. And the style... West shuddered. He shook his head and huffed out a faint laugh, turning from the crowded pet shop to this new Mountain of Confections.

Walking into the candy shop was like hitting a wall of sugar suspended in midair. West wrinkled his nose at the sickly sweet aura that seemed to emanate from this place. Halloween was full of the stuff and yet he had never experienced anything quite like this, not even when he visited Levi's room. Candy corn smelled nice, at least he thought so now, but this...

"Oh, no, I... I'm good," he muttered when the cashier addressed him. West didn't know what he wanted to get, but he was pretty sure he wasn't going to find it here.

Malodore looked startled as she touched its face, the expression only made more dramatic by its being so unused to having a malleable face. "Perfectly so; let us obtain one at all speed and leave this place... hm." It poked a bit at its own body, wishing it had a scalpel. Could it perhaps have the body after it had left it, or was it nothing more than a highly advanced glamour? If only it could dissect itself...

Riley picked up one of the boxes the moment Malodore approved of it. She put it in one arm, and used her other to hold Malodore's hand. "Yes, sir." She teased, as she headed to the cashier.

She set the box down, and glared at the pimply faced teen at the register. There was a tense moment of silence, where she just stared, and he just stared..

And no one did anything.

Malodore only looked up when the awkward silence became palpable enough to sneak through its interest in bruising its own left arm. "Ah... we would like to purchase this. Now. And then depart with it at speed. Facilitate this, per favore." It put the paper money down on the counter next to the boxed human device.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2012 4:26 pm

Riley continued to glare at the cashier, even as he took Malodore's money and rung up the item. He opened his mouth to say something, but it shut quickly again, and he just rang them up in silence. This was probably for the best, and Riley appreciated his silence so much that she stopped glaring at him.

For now.

She picked up the box after it was paid for, and the cashier handed Malodore a receipt. The moment the paper touched the plague doctor's human hands, Riley was moving forward.

"A good purchase." She murmured, as she inspected the box. "I hope they give us time to experiment with it. I want to see-" She caught the sight of the bruise, and pursed her lips. "You've injured yourself. How did that happen?"

"I am experimenting," it informed her, jabbing the bruised spot again and watching the way the colors deepened with pressure. "It is beneficial to understand human physiology." It hurt, of course, but it was trying to ignore that. It was nothing like the pain of wing implantation, after all, and it wasn't as if its actual forearms could be bruised at all.

EXITING MAUL

The human world had been rather interesting, and while Poke would of loved the chance to stay here a little longer, it was time to return. Unpacking her little figurine, she held it up for a DETH attendant to do whatever it was supposed to do, then she took off her pin as instructed-

And found herself back in the auditorium, being handed another survery.

"You're not going to chuck this one out are you?" She glared at the happy gnome, then went about filling this one out. This survey though had questions that required some thought, and as she wrote answers down she paused to read them. She felt herself getting more personal then she would like to admit, and she found herself hoping the survey would be binned. She didn't need others laughing at her 'pro human' standards.

DETH SURVEY! EXPERIENCING HUMANS!

Name: Poke
Year: 1/ snot
Other than Fear, why are Humans important to us? We can learn from their culture
In the field trip, what have you noticed about Humans that is different from what you expected? They seem very advanced, and there were lots of things similar to halloweentown scattered about. They even have skelevisions and skelephones.
Would I like to learn more about Humans in the future? Yes
Why do you think it is important to save a Human who is hurt? Humans can think and feel just as we can. They have relationships, family and friends just as we do. They die a lot easier then we do as well.
Name one positive Human experience you have had today MONEY

"Experimenting." Fair enough. She could understand the cause, but still disapproved of the action, if only because the mere idea of marring Malodore in any way enraged her - even if it was doing it to itself. She stopped walking, and pulled it's arm away so the hand stopped jabbing the arm, before swiveling Malodore around to face her. "I appreciate a good experiment. I do. I just.."

Her face experienced a myriad of minute expressions that it never could before, far too telling for her tastes. She was exposed by her facial features, feeling less and less in control by the second. "I am very.. protective of this body right now. Because it's yours. So." The reason sounded flimsy, at best. She flickered her eyes up to meet it's - his, she corrected herself. But they did not remain there long. They lowered, just slightly, and the intensity of her glare returned.

"I have an experiment. She breathed out. "May I be allowed to test it?"
