Luckily Isil was right and the orcs had slowed, stopped actually. And it didn't take long to cathc up with the foul things.

Sila had managed to get to them, but had stopped as soon as she saw the man talking to the creatures. He seemed to be able to talk to them... And if she attacked the creatures might turn on him and the woman, who Sila was surprised to see was Elven, that were there.

She sighed as she fitted an arrow into her bow. True there were two people with them but still, the orcs were so close to Mirkwood...

Van saw the figure in the hills with the bow. The orcs didnt see it though, and he didnt want a scene to happen so he called out loudly enogh for it to her, 'Dont be rash," he didnt turn to look to see if they had heard it, the orcs would suspect something, which he didnt need. He looked at the cheiftan and explained in orcish that the hostage was planning on killing themselfs, but he had told them to not. The cheif seemed to buy the story and nodded. Van pulled out his purse of money. "I offer many peices of gold and I can sharpen your blades as they look dull if you release give me the prisoner" he waited a second and added, "As well as two days of provisions for your, my lord" he said as he knelt on his left knee, showing the orc cheif respect.

"You what?" Elrothiel asked, stunned. He was going to buy her? Why? What on earth was he planning to do with her? Then the other comment's significance hit her. "Hey!" she said in elvish indignantly, knowing the orcs would understand anything she said in the common tongue. "What do you mean I'm planning to kill myself! They know perfectly well I'm bound and have no weapons!" Then another thought, a lot more important, oiccured to her, "And if you are planning to buy me can you get my stuff back as well? They don't have any use for elven weaponry anyway so they won't want them."

Van looked at her sideways...he wasnt very good with elvish, he didnt trade with them usually. but was able to pick up a few words. Becasue he was unshure of teh elvin words he quitly replied, 'Trust me...'. he looked up at the cheiften....he seemed to be muling it over. Van checked himself for anything else he could offer. his bow and spear where out of question and he like his short sword. Then he pulled out his hunting knife, it words of the Haradrim writtin on it so it looked rather exotic. He unstrapped it and offered it to the cheif as well.

Elrothiel held her breath, waiting. She had hundreds of questions she would like to ask this mysterious stranger but she knew that no matter how he answered the number of questions would always multiply by about a thousand. She avoided the orc chieftain's gaze while he decided, she didn't want to annoy him by showing any more defiance. With a bit of luck she was going to get out of here, though she had to admit, it wasn't through any effort on her part. If he managed to pull it off, she would owe this guy a lot. This thought troubled her. How was she ever going to repay him and remain loyal to her own people?

The cheif picked up the knife and examined it. Van knew he had hit the orc weak point...fancy things. The orc grunted then slashed a few times with it. He grunted to the others to throw him their wepons. As they started to pile them at his feet, he pulled out his sharpening rock and spat on it so he could start sharpening. As he was he looked at the elf and mouthed just wait. After eh finished the first one, he set it down and picked up an axe and started on it. He looked at the group of orcs looking at the new toy of the cheifs. He called to one of the ones in the back of the circle to him, 'If I may ask....whats with the increase in orc numbers lately?' he asked in orcish. The grunt looked uneasily at the cheif and simply said, 'We just follow our Cheif.' and went back to the circle.

Isil stood on the other side of a tree off to the side of Sila. She began fiddling with one of her throwing daggers in its sheath. She was thinking of throwing it and she could feel a drop of sweat fall from her chin. This place, so close to orcs, was making her feel uncomftorable especially since she knew it would be so easy, from her current angle, to kill one of them without being noticed. She'd been in theese kind of positions before... and they usually didn't end out as she preffered.

Van didnt push it. There was probly a civil war going on in the world of orcs, which, he thought with a smile, ment more buisness. He was soon done with all the wepons. Van stood and unloaded all his food rations he had packed. The cheif looked at him and then at the prisoner. He grunted 'She has no use with us anyways, take her.' and cut the binds holding the elf. Van bowed and went over to her, helping her up and picking up her bag. 'May I have these as well, my lord?' he asked. Again the orc grunted and continued playing with his dagger. 'Come quickly.' he said to her as they left the camp towards the other two figure on the hill to the south.

Elrothiel didn't need telling twice. Grabbing her sword and taking her bag from the man with a hasty "Thanks" in Elvish, she followed him quicly out of the camp. She stayed close by his side - he was the only obstacle between her and instant torture at the moment - and wondered what he planned to do with her next. She could feel the blood thundering in her ears and had a primal urge to run as far and fast as possible but she knew that if the orcs suspected anything, her life - and possibly the man's would be instantly forfeit.

She controlled the impulse, and didn't look back over her shoulder to see if the orcs had changed their mind or not and were running after them. However, this wasn't due to any particular bravery on her part; although she hid it well, she couldn't quite suppress the fear that they were.

'Don't worry', Van said to her as they kept walking. he soon came across a couple of trees that led up the hill. He quickly went behind it and pulled her behind the cover as well. 'My name is Van, I'm a traper from the area of Gondor just south of here. If you wish, you can follow me back to my hut to the south or you can go where you need to.Its up to you.'

Isil watched from a distance. What had happened? They just... let her go? And what did this Van- that was his name, right?- think he was? Isil didn't want to find out if he was an enemy or not. He looked untrustworthy. Since once when she was deceived by her best friend a few years back, she could sense evil in certain people. She did not worry about Sila, obviously, for she could sense a presense of kindness, but this one... seemed unreadable.

Elrothiel looked into his eyes, troubled slightly. His face was unreadable and she was unsure what to do. She trusted him instinctively - he'd saved her life, after all - and she owed him a lot, but...
"You would just let me go?" she asked, still watching him for any trace of emotion. "You saved my life and you would just let me go?"

Either that elf who just spoke felt the same way or she sense her mind was open for others to hear. She shook her head. Maybe fatigue was getting to her. She decided to step in behind the man. "My words exactly, elf-woman." she spoke smoothly although she didn't feel focused. "I've been watching from the hills, hidden by the trees if you seem to lovestruck, possibly, to notice." She stopped there. Was it to straight of an introduction? Her head was spinning with unfamiliarity.

Elrothiel shook her head slightly. "No, I didn't notice." she replied. I really need to get a grip, she thought, or I'm going to get myself into trouble again. "I couldn't see the hills from the camp as I was looking straight into the sun and as soon as I was free enough to look I've been slightly preoccupied." She gave a small, wry half-smile, "I guess I'll have to pay more attention."

'I take it you got my mesage' he said grinning at the new girl. He turned back to the elf, 'I dont like seeing captives, regardless of race. I would do th esame for an orc in your company or a dwarf in theirs.' He stabed his spear thru the whole he had pre made in to his pack so it stuck out sideways. 'Listin, I have to go, I hop eyou know your way around.' he started off then turned around, 'Be shure not to get caught again, and nice meeting you.'l he said to the two with a nod, and headed back to his hut.
