That's a tall order, but I can get you the wrench. *gets it and hands it to him*

*studies him, leans his hands on the car* Think you're up for it, chief? It's been awhile...

What are you talking about? I've got two or three years before my Alzheimer's kicks in.

*laughs* Hey, you said it not me.

And you better not. I need somebody around to tell me I haven't lost my marbles because I keep disappearing to a coffee bar outside time and space, okay?

*Bard chuckles* You don't need me for that, just ask the evil sorceress, the future cop, or the angel.

Yeah, and the fact that I have to ask 'which angel' really doesn't help anything.

Thank God for cars.

Hey, how about some music to get things moving?

Bard walks over to an old boombox sitting in the corner of the garage flips it on and spins of the radio dial looking for something worth listening to. After skipping past a couple talky DJs and a stream of hip-hop profanity he hits the familiar thrum of 80's power metal*

"...Ride the Tiger... you can see his stripes but you know he's clean... oh don't you see what I mean..."

*he glances at Luke, arching an eyebrow*

*Grinning, Luke croons in his loudest metal voice.* ...Gotta get away ... Hoooly Diver!

*Luke grabbed a second wrench.*

*Bard cranks the volume up, and, returning to the car, begins to remove the bolts fastening the carburetor*

*Luke croons a bit more, less loudly, and then starts to help with the carbuerator...*

Holy Diver, you've been down too long in the midnight sea....-

*Once the brass throttle plates are off, Luke puts his gloves on... Only now could he see how the fire killed the carbuerator. The aluminum of the carbeurator has melted down in icicles and into the engine.*

*murmurs* This thing is a mess...

*Bard gives out a low whistle, staring at the carburetor. He pats Luke on the shoulder*

Look at it this way, how many kids at the University of Pennsylvania can say they liquefied a carburetor?

That's going to look great on your résumé.

*sighs, chuckles* Yeah, I can put it right underneath of 'owning and operating a bar on campus' and 'underaged drinking'.

Somewhere in Mexico might take me...

Australia's nice... they've been accepting delinquents for years.

See? What better way to learn about the law... than to have to defend yourself to the local authorities. That's what I always say.

*suddenly remembers* Oh, and while we're on the topic of delinquents, if you're going to bring someone from the Brink into your time period .... you should make sure you're not in a highly populated area with one of the highest crime rates in the country.

*takes a breath and adds* And don't be drunk. Don't do that either.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 03, 2006 4:43 pm

I'll add that to the list right after "don't bring people with archaic immune systems to heavily populated urban areas in the dead of winter," and right before "don't bring anyone with magical powers and loose morals anywhere. Period.

*Bard leans over and examines the melted mess of the carburetor*

One thing's for sure: we're not going to be able to just lift that off. Have any experience with a welder?
