Yeah, it's not a terrible hand because no one was hurt and nothing irreplaceable was lost. It's still kind of like a "what the ******** else can go wrong this summer?" kind of deal though. I mean, I had a week and a half of summer classes left when I had to go to the hospital so I have to make all that up. And then, a week after I get home from the hospital, lightning hits the house. It's just like, really?
I'm grateful though, I could've been hurt by the lightning. I was on my laptop at the time with my charger plugged into it and the outlet in the wall. My charger took all the hit and got fried, my laptop, cooling pad, and myself were unharmed. I was like "holy s**t, I could've died....again...." sweatdrop
The lightning seems to have played a game of "pick and choose what to fry" though. Like on some outlets, it fried the thing in the bottom of the outlet but not the top.
Let's see if I can get down all the things we lost. My laptop charger, three televisions (they were old and needed replaced so not a huge deal), dvr box, internet modem, the cable service itself, Wii, vcr/dvd player, alarm clock, house phones, three outlets, six smoke detectors, air conditioner, washing machine, and a refrigerator/freezer combo. There may be more but that's all I can think of.
All of it is covered by homeowner's insurance though so we'll be reimbursed for them to an extent anyway which is a good thing.
It was terrifying though. All of a sudden there was just a huge explosion of white, it sounded like glass shattering, and then everything went black and the six smoke detectors started screaming cause they had been fried. You could smell the sulfur in the air and we were all just like "gtfo NOW" and called the fire department and yeah. I was wide awake at 4am that morning xp

It's good that it's all being covered by insurance. I can only imagine how high you jumped when it happened though. It makes me laugh. xd

That's true. I'm just glad that no one was hurt.
Though i know I probably would've wanted to piss my pants if that happened to me.

Well I was talking to my special lady friend at the time and she said when the lightning hit my cam froze and the look on my face was like this: O.O only more so and completely terrified. I didn't jump very high cause I was on the bottom of a bunk bed so I only had like 5 inches between my head and the bottom of the top bunk as it was.

Ow! You must have bumped your head! blaugh But, I can't help but wonder if it would be scarier to be awake when it happened or to be jolted away when it happened. Hopefully nothing else bad will go wrong for you.

Turns out the router and network interface card on the desktop also got fried so those will need replaced too. And since the router is fried it means still no internet here for me and continued stealing of unsecured networks ninja

My stalker button always shows him doing work stuff. lol My internet is finally working again! It's rough not being able to get online.

Yeah, it's hard to keep up anymore without buying cash. I haven't bought a cash card in about a year, and I've noticed that I am really falling behind everyone else. I can still make cool avi's, but I could make cooler avi's if I could either get more cash or learn how to play the marketplace.

I make cool avi's all the time and I haven't bought squat with my gold for years. Well, that's a lie, I bought a bit of crap a little while ago, but I didn't spend much on it.
I can make this avi, and the ones where I'm naked. Super cool.

I participated in my first Annual Ball this year. I was recruited a few months ago by a friend who was part of the ball crew to be a co-host in the The Celebration Room. I played Ariadne, wife of Dionysus. I must say it was really fun working the Annual Ball. My only regret is that there were more illiterate newbs in our room than experienced roleplayers. Roleplaying seems to be dying on Gaia.
