((It's really been a month?))
The sun was low in the eastern sky. Standing on a rocky outcropping overlooking the ocean stood a single figure. Just barely bathed in the morning light, it stood solitary, holding up a thin instrument to its mouth. From a distance, a warbly melody could be heard...

Lucien stretched his arms and opened the door slinging his overcoat over his shoulder. "I'll be heading out then.", he said pushing up his glasses closer to his face. "Tamara, please head home first via shadow gate then alright. I have some errands to do."
"What? What errands?" She asked with a puzzled look.
"Just somethings I do every morning.", and with that the latch clicked and the door creaked. Lucien stepped out into the early morn and dimly lit hallway out to the already bustling streets of the city. Everywhere, were people of all kinds and machinations, old and new, as well as the occasional imperial guards. He shook his head as his steps connected to the ground with muffled clop.
Meanwhile, back inside, Tamara stared intently at the door there could've been a mark made on it. She was becoming suspicious of her brother's actions. She decided to occupy herself by setting up the table with plates and dinnerware, but it still kept her thinking.

Warakai walked quickly over to where Mike was laying, he prodded him gently in the ribs with his foot, when nothing happened he placed his foot down on Mike's arm pressing down hard enough to hurt alot but without aggravating the injury.
Demi stood from the place where she had fallen asleep on the beach, she wiped away a a dampness that had materialized around her eyes, what had she been dreaming about? she stood and checked her rifle quickly, and stood up, there were a few blackened scraps of the ship protruding from the ocean, but everything seemed calm, like every morning after chaos has ensued. She walked across the beach groggily her mind on getting something to drink.

Lucien stepped into a rundown pawn shop. He looked around scavenging for something that could be used. In the end, past the rusted gears and inoperable mechanics, he found nothing and decided to walk back to the beach where it all started. He walked along the sand-laden pier. To his left, The remains of the wreckage that once was an imperial supply ship was being inspected. He decided to walk down his right instead. He pushed his glasses up, the light glinting reflecting the morning sunlight.

The dull golden shine of the morning sun was absorbed readily into Jessie's midnight black coat as she continued down the sidewalk of the street. Again, her hood was pulled down over her eyes, since she was sensitive to the sunlight. Ahead of her, traces of smoke could still be seen in the air from yesterday's fire in the harbor - the one she passed up the opportunity to investigate in lieu of following a dark man down a dark alleyway, which of course ended up leading to nothing, as her investigations usually did. So today, Jessie figured she'd make up for yesterday and made her way to the beach to see if she could find anything interesting.
Once there, Jessie looked upon the ruins of a ship strewn across the beach. Tilting her head to the side, she figured this had been the source of yesterday's massive conflagration. But what was the cause? In an attempt to find out, she tried to wander closer to the wreckage, but the Imperials inspecting the ship pushed her away. In vain, Jessie flashed them her ID - signaling her as a loyal member of the Empire - but to no avail. They yet pushed her away, and so disappointed, Jessie stalked the opposite way down the beach, sullen and sulky. Why couldn't anything interesting happen to her? Suddenly, as if a higher power had been listening to her thoughts, at that instant, she noticed a dark figure in front of her...

Lucien, still lost in thought continued to march down the shoreline. Above him the skies were gray with a polluted air and smoke billowed from the center of the city. The horizon only showed just a glimmer of peace before once again consumed by smoke and darkness. He lifted up his head, his arm readjusting the jacket draped over his shoulder. In the glint of his glasses, he saw someone dressed in a long dark cloak. He held a sinking feeling in his gut and did his best to ignore it and keep walking past the figure.

As the dark man was walking towards her, eyes to the side, it suddenly clicked with Jessie - this guy was the same man she had encountered in the alleyway yesterday. Being so lonely, and considering him unfinished business, she didn't want to let him get away. Making sure she kept her hands free of any weaponry this time, she continued to walk towards him as he walked towards her. At the exact point where they had met, Jessie leaned over and whispered into his ear. "Don't you remember your promise?"

Lucien stopped, his feet kept in what would've been another step forward. "I'm not the kind of person who forgets his word.", he calmly said, his eyes glinting the light of the rising sun. He slid his arms into his coat and adjusted the cravat tucked in behind the collar of his coat. "Fancy meeting you here though.", he said polishing his glasses as he spoke.

"Indeed." Replied Jessie quietly, who kept her arms folded in her lap in front of her, away from her guns. "I had been intending to come here yesterday, but I had come across you instead." She gave a worried look, and pulled off her hood that had been covering her eyes, revealing once again her attractive face and her long locks of shocking electric blue hair. She took a deep breath before speaking again, still quietly. "I didn't think I would come across you again, so I didn't think I would say this, but it was rude of me to interrogate you like that yesterday. It's just that I live alone, and as such, I just wanted someone to talk to. If I was overzealous...please don't hold it against me.", she finished, almost begging. She tried to look into his eyes, but the man was fixated on cleaning his glasses.

When he assumed they were clean enough, Lucien looked back at her, his eyes giving off a reflective golden glow. "We all have our faults,", he explained to her. "I'm not the kind of person to hold grudges over something so little as a bad first impression."
He slid his glasses back on, gently over the bridge of his nose to a comfortable spot, where coincidentally they glass hid his eyes from view again with the light of the sun. "You were doing your job when we first met...whatever it is. And I reacted instinctively as anyone would when in front of a gun at point blank." he chuckled. "I guess we were both in the wrong in a way, hmm?"

((I am assuming the role of Mike for now since Lena has not posted in ages and it is keeping me from posting as well. Sorry if this is offensive in anyway to the three of you.))
When Leith saw Warakai pressing his foot down on Mike's arm she quickly went over and pushed him off, giving him a repremandingly angry face. She knelt carefully by Mike's limp and lightly snoring form, putting her palm on his good arm, which cradled his broken arm. She spoke softly, "Mike, it's time to get up and have some breakfast. It's a new day." when he did nothing to respond besides giving a louder snort Leith raised her voice, adding a little bit of an edge to it. "Mike, wake up." and still he did not wake. "Mike! Get your butt up!"
Mike woke slowly from his wonderful dream, wondering whose beautiful voice he was hearing. "Huh...?" He grunted in a very thick and slow voice, his eyes barely opening into slits as he rolled his head in her direction. When he saw the angelic face of Leith staring at him, her brows slightly angled in annoyance, but a smile of amusment playing at the corners of her mouth, he for some reason returned the smile, only feeling awkward in his half-dream-like state.
"Breakfast, Mike. Get up." Leith smiled at him as she patted his cheek to make sure he was awake.
When she uttered the word, "Breakfast" he suddenly remembered how cripplingly hungry he was. His stomache automatically clenched and started rumbling again. He gave an effort to sit up, relying heavily on the back of the couch. He went to run his eyes but let his bad arm fall limp at his side when it screamed in pain at him. He looked around, finally remembering fully where he was and what had happened in the past couple of days. He made another large effort to stand, though he loathed the action, taking a while before he was completely verticle. He shuffled over to the dinning table and plopped down in a chair. "Mornin' Leith an... and... Aunt Judy." He still sounded miserably unaware.
"Good morning hun, would you like something to eat and something to numb that arm of yours?" Judy asked cheerily from the stove.
"Yes ma'am." Mike nodded, his speech sluggish.
((forgive me for the length... too much built up muse. o.o))

"Yeah..." breathed Jessie. This was amazing; he didn't run away. How was this so, she wondered? She figured she might as well take the next step. She nervously swallowed before asking "I'm sorry, but we haven't been properly introduced. Can we make up for yesterday?" She extended a pale hand towards him in recognition of a fresh start. "My name is Jessie." She said, giving her best attempt at a congenial smile.

Lucien looked back at her with a raised eyebrow. This wasn't something he was expected...but still, it was something. As long as she didn't dive to much into his personal life, He wouldn't dive into her's. He reached out with his gloved hand and shook her's. "Lucien...Lucien Almethyst.", he said, returning her smile with his own.
Back at the apartment, Tamara sat down at the table patiently waiting for breakfast to be served. For one, it occupied her while her brother was out for the morning. For another, She was famished.

Warakai slightly annoyed at Leiths interference looked for a place to sit down, the fleet city Sarrakon people were known for being a little brutal, it was one of the reasons they were still a threat to the Ex-Machina empires ocean-based interests. "Back in the fleet city sloth like that carries a pretty serious punishment" He said rubbing tired stiff muscles in his arms.
Demi continued her thirsty march across the beach having no idea where the nearest beer was but wishing it wasn't far away. She spotted the two figures not to far away, not guards, but they didn't appear to be normal citizens either they only held her attention for a few moments, as not to far away stood a sign advertising an establishment called The Beachside which was according to the sign was a bar 200 meters away and open 24 hours. Demi made her way toward the two figures, giving them one last glance as she passed heading in the direction the sign indicated.

Mike knew Warakai was talking to him, but he was both too tired and didn't care enough to respond. He was exhausted and his arm felt like nothing he'd ever felt before. He could tell that the bruising had spread ever farther but he didn't care to check, he was afraid to see the damage.
Leith helped her aunt with the last of the breakfast preparations and helped set the food on the table. As Leith poured orange juice for those who cared for it, Judy retrieved a medicine bottle from somewhere else in the house. She put a single pill next to MIke's glass and said no more. Leith dished out the food to everyone's liking and they all began to eat.
