"You re not putting yourself in danger for me," she said darkly. "If it's my safety thats making you do this, then I promise you this," she said viciously. "If you put yourself in that kind of danger, I will make sure to get my self hurt while you're helpless. Badly"

Eric's eyes got dark and cold, a frigid air almost blew around him. If you do such a thing, I will come to you. Even if it means that I must endure pains worse than death. Do not for one second think that I would leave you injured so and alone.

Her eyes narrowed, not even aware her eyes were moist. "You. Will. NOT!" she said. She took a swing, to hit him upside his furry pea brained MALE head.

The wolf dodged with super speed, his eyes never leaving hers. I do not think you are thinking clearly. Striking me is not a wise decision. Ever. You will never see me raise a hand to hurt you. I expect the same kindness in return. He growled low as a warning. She was treading on thin ice. Your safety comes before all else.

"No! It doesn't! I will not let anyone else I care about get hurt to protect me! I won't have it!"

And I will not see you harmed. If you cannot promise to stay safe when you go out, you will not go out. And if you go out, I will come and get you. I cannot allow you to be hurt. Mortals and immortals alike would not be safe if I were to lose you.

"I am NOT a prisoner! HOW DARE YOU try to take m y freedom from me?! HOW DARE YOU! My life is mine to do with as I please!" She raged... at the top of her lungs. "You come around spouting nonsense about how we're connected forever, but news flash, that does not make you my master! HOW DARE YOU act as though I am a belonging or a child that you can make rules for!" She screamed at him, tears gone, eyes baizing. "HOW. DARE. YOU!"

Au contrare, Little One. You are a child and I must protect you. You are not a prisoner in my home, nor shall you ever be as long as you realize that you are not dealing with a human or anything remotely thus. Now, if you are quite finished, I shall be retiring to my chambers for the day, as was requested. I expect to see you when I rise this evening. Have a pleasant day at school, my dear. It killed him to turn and walk away, but it was for the best. His emotions were out of control, as were hers. He needed to be safe in the earth for the day, yes, that was it. Perhaps the earth could heal the terrible ache he already felt. The one that reminded him he was a monster with every beat of his heart.

She slammed the door after him and shoved furniture in front of it, letting the physical effort bleed off some of the excess emotions. Some. Not enough. She grabbed a pillow and hurled it across the room with a frustrated scream. It didn't help. She took the knife and threw it,. It hit the curtains and then the floor. She blinked then narrowed her eyes. She moved around what furniture she hadn't moved and picked up the knife. She put it up her sleeve, and held it there with her ill fitting sheath, not in the sheath, but the hilt between it and her wrist. She pulled the curtains opened and examined the window. Seeing that it would open, she did so. She looked back at the room, and shoved away the pang of regret at the thought of leaving. But better that he miss her, then he get hurt protecting her. This was better for him in the long run, and anyway, if he didn't get himself killed protecting her, she might just kill him for trying. It was a shame though. She had liked having a friend again... and she had... for the most part... liked him. She took a deep breath and climbed out the window. She hit the ground running, not much caring where she was going. Just... away.

Eric stopped in the passage the moment he felt it. She had left. A quick shift and a dead run to the kitchen where he found Maria and Antonio. "Get the car and some soil. She has run."
Antonio blanched but nodded and headed for the car. "Yes Sir."
Maria shook her head, "That poor child. Eric, you be easy on her, you hear me? She's so alone...she needs someone soft more than a warrior right now, dearest."
Eric grumbled and fashioned himself some clothes in the way of his people. Almost leaping out the door, he shifted back into the wolf, smelling for her scent.

She had no clue that he was already aware she had bolted, but she raced all the same from the house. She wanted as much ground between her and it before she collapsed again. She would need to find a safe place soon, but not yet. She was still too close. He wouldn't wake up until the sun set again, so once it set she had time. She just had to get through the time until then.

He had another good solid hour before the sun was up. He sent out his senses and caught onto her again, lopping after her as hard as he could. Little One...

She swore in a whisper then shook her head as she ran. Maybe he thought she was still in the room. "What?" she snapped at him, hoping he'd keep thinking she was still just stewing in the bedroom.

Eric breathed a sigh of relief. At least she was still safe. Why did you leave me? I know that I was less than pleasant, but to be without you is tearing me up. Please, come back before the sun rises and we will talk about this thing. We cannot run from our problems.
