Maximos razz oints at the Dont Fear The Reaper Thread: More details than my old journal. And yet we still haven't finished fleshing it out with everything we've discussed. Lazy us. Vahn Kyonuske And Death should be knockin' on victor's bedroom window for all the crimes he committed then. I warned you like a year ago that it'd be very likely someone would kick in his door and commence with the backhanding of justice. Vahn Kyonuske Although ones already coming after Vahn.. presumably if Shouyin can't stone him to death first. Pleasure, not work. *Waves at everyone from beyond the... ... ... ...alarm clock?*

Aye, consuming souls to make themselves immortal does make them a high class affront to the mandates. 3nodding But it would be really anti-climactic to have an army of Reapers slice into Victors room and start throwing down.
Beside, I dont think Joshua's little vendetta counts.

So Max is Alucard, and Joshua is Kyo.
Does that make me.... Maxwell Duo... or something?

*Shrug.* Appropriate illustrations are hard to come by. Despite the plethora of 'badass' out there there is too scant a combination of 'badass' and 'attitude' that becomes a Reaper.
And souls cannot be consumed, as per what is written. They can be absorbed, and their energy can be drained for use in things like immortality, but they cannot be 'consumed' as in 'destroyed'. When the energy is gone they simply phase into the afterlife.
That draws a line. If they consume as in 'drain the energy from', then they commit no crime, and are just adding an extra step to ushering souls into the afterlife. If they consume as in 'entrap and absorb', then they would be imprisoning souls within them... not the same as just draining them because a soul that is imprisoned but not drained doesn't pass on and just remains trapped there until released.
Which means someone would be making a house call to uncork some bottles.

Having backread far enough to see what this 'Claymore' comment was about, I suppose I can surmise that B has just watched the anime up to and not including the last episode released.
Having read up to the most recently released chapter (volume 13), I can say that it's hardly an accurate comparison.
He'd have done better posting a DBZ macro.

You were actually the one to dub me Alucard. What with the picture you used. As for you...thats tough! Your part.... With a little bit of... A side helping of... A very very small dash of.... And a teeny weeny pinch of... And for old school flavor and a little extra "kick" in your kick a**...

Well keeping in line with what you guys are developing as canon, then by definition, they wouldn't be consuming souls like a Hollow does, but, I guess storing and entrapping them within itself for usage of attack and/or sustenance.
I made the Nephilim so they would require the power of 'souls' to function. Like a vampiric need or something due to their hybrid nature and devilish constitution.

Very disturbing to think one man is composed of so many.
I apparently need help and pills.

Thou did not just dub him Sensui. *Faps with a rolled up newspaper.* @ Immortality: Depends largely upon how long they've lived past their natural lifespan. If he's got a bunch of demon/men that have only been around for 130 years or something, that's nothing. If he's got minions that were originally human and have been around for thousands of years, that's toying with nature. At that point they go on the list of people who need to have their lives cut short. Cut with fire. @ Badassery:

The reason I classified them as anti-reaper, was because since reapers work to send a soul to the 'great machine' and keep the cycle moving, these guys are like 'F U' to the cycle and by merely existing hamper the cycle itself.
Although not on some global scale, since they'd have to be over a million in number or something.

Vahn Kyonuske Well keeping in line with what you guys are developing as canon, In that we were trying to work with something in which people's souls could not be permanently destroyed by just any Joe that sees dead people. I'm happy with what we have so far, but we need to expand upon it a little more than we have. Hence the unfilled sections. edit: We call that "clog". Eventually, someone's going to pour some drain cleaner on the operation. However soon it happens is largely based on how much of a priority it is compared to other things.

biggrin eflects newspaper with the NO U Shield:
Of course I gave him Sensui! He used to use that really cool kicking style! I totally cant remember its name...Vahn's like Venom. Or the demon Legion. They are many, but they're all badass so...it fits. Like pieces of a puzzle. Now if you tossed in say...Don Kanonji into that list, he just wouldnt fit the puzzle!
@Immortality: Aye. And from what I can see they CAN still die. its just tough. So theres no need to mass jump the crowd.
@Nephilim: Yes, keeping souls locked away would mess with the cycle, if they had really voracious appetites or serious power requirements and a dozen of them put away a could hundred souls, I think that'd be a noticeable issue.
