Yeah for the several months I've just been ignoring every MC, EI, and Aquarium update and every other update/announcement Gaia has. So the only way they've bothered me lately is when they shove stuff in my face. Such as the chest and the layouts. The chest I hate (but I've also grown to ignore for the most part), and the layouts I actually don't mind. My only two complaints with the past few layout changes Gaia's made is that in the "shortcuts" they used to have "my posts" which I liked because it was a one click+load and I was at the page. Now I have to go to two pages. Not a big deal, so this is really the first time I've complained about it (although I wouldn't call it complaining). The only other thing I don't really like is how they moved the "shortcuts" to the bottom left hand corner from the top right hand corner. It was there for so long and I got used to it, then they changed it; there was no reason for it. The old spot didn't take up too much room, especially since they kept everything else that was there before, they just moved this. I'll get used to it sure, but it still bothers me that they fixed something that wasn't broken. I mean changing the colours and the layout is one thing, because sometimes things get boring and you need to jazz it up, and sometimes they want to try easier navigation. But not removing something and not freeing up more screen space doesn't make navigation easier and it doesn't make the site look better. It just pisses people off and messes with the users who got in the habit of going to the top right corner.
@Kenny: Yeah I had tried to minimize the footer yesterday and it just kept coming back every time I went to a new page. I'll try again though and hopefully it'll work.

I'll probably get used to it too, but for right now, it's really messing me up.
By the way, does anyone have any idea what the School Survival Guide is about? It almost looks like an event, but there isn't an event for this time of the year. confused

If you're still having problems with the footer not staying collapsed you might try collapsing it, logging out, closing your browser, then logging back in. I don't know why but it's worked for a couple people who have had a problem with it not staying collapsed and popping back open on each page. Also, if you go to your My Posts page and click the + or Add button in the shortcuts you should be able to add that page as a direct link, or at least that's what I've been told/seen.
The School Survival Guide is just a fun little mini-event to break up the boring time between the summer event and Halloween. This is the slowest month for Gaia and it's when a lot of people go back to school so they decided to throw this together just for a break from the norm and to give users something to enjoy. 3nodding
Also, yay for feeling horrible and being in terrible pain last night, that was so much fun xp

Poor Kenny. crying The pain is worse than usual?
I think the mini-event is a good idea. Now that I think about it, this is about the time that I left Gaia last year. Everyone gets so busy, and they just fall away. sad

It was last night, I was close to going to the ER but after about 3 hours it settled enough that I could get to sleep.

How do you manage to work in your condition? sad Some days are worse than others and for the most part it's just a manageable annoyance. During times like last night though I don't work or do anything really except try to hope it settles down. I called in to work last night and skipped all 3 of my classes today because I was tired from being up so late and I didn't want it to pop back up while I was in class. It's really just a decision of whether I think I can manage it or not. I have to get money and go to class so unless it's really bad I kind of just have to deal with it and hope I don't notice it too much.

I remember when everyone was making those! xd I had the Excel banner on the top in my sig for a while. lol I later modeled the banners for my other guilds off of these. This guild has really marked me since it was the first one I joined when I first joined Gaia. (Too bad hardly anyone noticed me back then.) I'm glad that it's active again. heart
