(For reference I have a horse...but no way in hell am I running right into the Elven army. And btw Llosh uhh soften Earth under feet of people equals basically a very good way to trap an enemy unit. Atleast Id imagine it to slow them down quite effectively, acting almost like a crappy quick sand). Seeing Llosh prepare to charge head first into the elven horde, and previously having heard about the ranks of criminals that dot the elven army Thanatos shouts over to Llosh. "Are you crazy? There is a lot of people in between you, even if you could get close enough to hit him, chances are, hes magically protected. You may not have heard the king say this but they are being commanded by an Elven Noble, one of the members of the High Houses." (Bluff check....Bluff bluff the crazy lizard, to prevent his untimely demise....damn I should've been a bard) (Silly me I almost forgot my MLA citations) (Gaintintheplayground.com, 0004). "And did you say they have criminal soldiers, and non elven folk? You wouldnt by anychance have anything that is incredibly flashy would you? It doesnt have to be useful in the least, just flashy, something to scare them, make us seem far more powerful then we acctually may be."

(no need to roll bluff against me. Also, soften earth works at practically touch range. 40 ft, for me. I could maybe provoke a charge and then soften the ground in reaction to it, but that's about all the use I'm seeing for something that's taking up a third level spell slot.)
Lloish looks up from studying the enemy layout. "I wasn't planning on just charging in. I was going to serpentine. But if our target is a noble, perhaps I should hold back. I figure that taking down their leader could immobilize their army with the least loss of life on either side, and I think that should still be our plan A. As for scaring the criminals in their ranks, I haven't got anything flashier than a hailstorm." He glances over at Susqueek. "Maybe he has something that could do the trick?"

"Glad you asked, or at least implied I was welcome for input! Well I've got plenty of little tricks...There's several ways I could make the field a whole lot harder to see, smoke or mist, whichever you choose. Scaring is simple enough, I imagine that our druid friend might be able to summon some of his woodsie allies, and I have some friends among the animal kingdom of my own...Failing that I have several phials of flaming goo and other elemental stickies to cause words of pain and horror to fly unmercifully from our enemies lungs. Though personally I recommend the smoke and mist. I only need to know which of you will be charging the leader, he should be easy to spot even in fog due to his outline."
Drawing a greyish wooden stick from his cloak he holds it for the two others to see.
"Light this when you feel you are close enough to him and the smoke it produces will obscure you. I have a similar method for covering you on the way to him but it will only work at short range, so it would be best used to start your charge. Afterwards, continued arrow fire from our troops concentrated away from the leader and on the main body, coupled with some woodland creatures running rampant among the enemy should keep them too distracted to focus on you. And if you want to throw a hailstorm in that works too. If they still aren't deterred I have a few tricks they might wish to see."

((by the way I just realized I never added my class abilities for being a Swordsage. I'm all set now and boy are some of them fun =]))
Seeing that the ice plan isn't going to work he puts the flask of blue-white liquid away and pulls out a flask divided down the middle with glass with a yellow liquid on one side and a blue liquid on the other. Bits of green stone float inside. "I'm so glad I got to learn about electricity...Its pretty obscure, but there are so many applications for it!"

Narsyssa ((Spot to see the hail of arrows)) 9+4 = 13((Spot to see where the arrows are coming from.)) 10+4 = 14hard to miss, but the flight of arrows is headed for the archers who seconds ago just moved behind cover. A loud hiss is heard as arrow hits metal, followed by a longer hiss of acid meeting wood. Several archers spasm on the ground. The oncoming fighters are closing in. Two rounds to impact.

Oh, the elves are actually similar to that, he is a noble, but you'd have to have local knowledge...

Note: they are in fact charging. The archers in the woods peek out, beginning to set up for a last volley.

Lloish looks at Susqueek, arching a scaly eye-ridge in lieu of an eyebrow at the Scaven. "I can call down the very forces of nature to aid in this fight. Unfortunately, fog and hail are not very discriminating allies. Your alchemy seems like it is less likely to have unwanted side-effects, but it only works at close range. Perhaps you would like to accompany me when I do charge? Oh, speaking of which, let me do something about making a gap in the enemy defenses." lloish waves a claw towards the tree-line and starts intoning something under his breath.
(entangle has a range up to 680 ft with lloish, which is not enough to hit the noble. Instead, I'm going to modify the spell so that the trees are doing the entangling--which is allowed, the book says that different vegetation can be used in different situations--and then I'm going to amp it up with grow plants. Grow plants has no specific effect bonuses, so this one is entirely up to the DM's discretion. However, what I would like grow plants to do in this case is to cause the trees to grow into the position in which they're holding their victims, and then freeze there. That will stop the trees from trying to tangle new targets that enter the area, and make their hold on their victims especially tight. Apologies to the DM if that's overcomplicated. Reflex DC 15 to avoid the tangle)

The unique conjoining of spells at the same moment seems to sever best as a trap. It hasn't fully incapacitated anyone, but most feel like their foot was caught in a root, and then the ground rushed up to meet them. Fortunately a slow advance can be made without damage and attacks of opportunity cannot be made by the trapped ones.

(well, that's a start. I'm getting awful low of spells, though)
Lloish sets Ne Pah, the boa constrictor, down behind cover. "Stay here. Be good. Hold the line," he tells her. He waits for the advancing unit of elves to get within point blank range of our archers and casts soften earth underneath them, turning the dirt into quick-mud. He then orders our archers to finish them.
(soften earth is four feet deep, and can have a radius of up to 60 feet. Needless to say, I'm only casting the spell wide enough to catch the advancing unit of elves in it. I'm not attempting to mire our troops as well. Creatures move through quick mud at half speed, and must reflex DC 17 every turn to avoid getting stuck for 1d2 turns, unable to move or act.)

"We must do not too small amount of things in a short amount of time if this is to work...I'll ask you to hold onto the smoke maker, and this as well."
He pulls a scroll out of his case and hands it to Lloish
"Scrolls can be almost as much fun as Alchemy at times, that one will summon a swarm of insects and other under-appreciated creatures. A bank of fog is going to roll in and we are going to use it as cover, from there activate the scroll to call some friends on the enemy, which should serve as a decent distraction. If not I've got some more mayham to add, but I'd rather spend the time moving. When we get to the woods, trigger the smoke maker and it should give us decent cover, but the leader should be well outlined even in the fog. If we are quick, we may be able to capture instead of kill." Sursqueek surveys the terrain and as he looks around, remembers Thanatos and his horse. "Of course it might be best if we simply cover Thanatos's departure and hold the front here, but then three are better than one for some things...If you are coming however, It would probably be best if you used the smoke maker, so Lloish can focus on knocking our well dressed friend out for a nap. Is everyone at ready?" ((the look around is a spot check for travel difficulty across the battlefield, would it cause slower movement, etc. 13+12=25)
