Alunn bowed back to Azrael. "I'm doing much better, I'm just going to feed, before I start to get hungry, I would hate to violate your house-" Alunn stopped, looking at Lauvel, his hand unconsciously going to his guitar.

Shera looked down at her paw as if it would provide the answer for her. "You focus your energy into the crystal." She began, and looked over at her brother to finish it up for them, since he was the one who had achieved success.

Miluiel followed along beside Azrael at a comfortable pace, she didn't feel too hurried or too rushed either. Listening to Azrael speak of the pack and their traditions she was reminded of how different this place was from her home. Back in the elven capital it was not alright, usually to stroll into any household without being invited first. "The tribe uses everything that we gather." Miluiel added to Azrael's monologue of the area and some traditions. "It really is a nice and fulfilling way to live. In some ways it is like home, but in other ways it is very different." Miluiel said too.

Her attention turned to the person coming down the road towards them. "Good day." She said with a graceful curtsy beside Azrael, before she once again linked arms with him. "I am delighted to hear that you are doing better, and please don't worry about violating our home, as we were just telling our comrade here," She gestured to Lauvel, "Anyone is allowed into anyone's home, so please don't feel you are a bother. It is quite alright." She said in a hospitable tone.

((Waiting for Lauvel, and Alunn was referring to draining someone of blood))
PostPosted: Wed Mar 31, 2010 2:24 pm

((Sorry guys))

Lauvel looked blinked in surprise at Alunn and his reaction. He must be one of the ones that warned the village. He thought to himself with a swallow. "Forgive me, Sir." He said to Alunn. "My name is Lauvel, I am a messenger from lady Miluiel's homeland." He explained to him, as he bowed. "I did not mean to disturb you." He said to him, a bit cautiously, citing from the reaction that Alunn had upon seeing him.

Azrael, having encountered others of his kind, knew what Alunn meant. "There are more than enough suitable dwellers of this forest, should you need something." He told him, speaking in a way that would hopefully convey the message where he could point him in the direction of blood without giving him away to the others, seeing as Alunn would likely not enjoy that bit of information getting out. "If you cannot however, visit the Spirit lounge, that building over there," he said as he pointed to a hut with a large pointed roof that was open at the top, "and one of the healers of my sister if she is in should be able to concoct something to handle it." He told him.

"And then you let it release itself inside the crystal." Shinn said to Veral, his tail wagging enthusiastically.

"Very good! Both of you did very well. You're both very gifted you know." He told them fondly, and inwardly quite dumbfounded by the potential the two children had.

Logain recognized this potential as well as he watched them. The both of them have unfathomable potential. The little female is descended from a mixed blood pairing, and the male one, judging by the color of his fur, had a different mother from a different breed of werewolf. He thought to himself. Mixed blood heritages resulted stronger magic in most cases. But that would only explain some of it... no these two have potential beyond that of most people signed into any of the remaining arcane universities. I hate to say it, but their powers may very well be wasted here in this corner of the world. He thought to himself. Now that he thought of it, the potential of the individuals of this tribe alone were being wasted in this village, but what choices did they have, really? With so many angels having taken positions of power in many of the newly formed nations, they quite bitter towards former members of the Grace of Destruction, and prejudice against werewolves in those nations were much higher even during the War of the Graces. That injustice alone nearly made Logain sick.

Alunn calmed himself down, he had had troubles with elves a few times, and was jumpy around them, but he soon soothed his feelings. "Lady Miluiel is an elf?" Alunn said, slightly surprised. He heard Azrael and nodded, heading towards the trees with a wave of thank you. A black bunny streaked across the grass and disappeared into his shadow, the shade-elf watching from slightly behind the treeline.

Miluiel drew closer to Azrael. She was trying not to judge, but Alunn scared her when he mentioned hunger, a hunger in blood. Blood made her nervous, well in the context of what the vampire required. "It is amazing what they can do." She commented softly. "They can help all sorts of problems."

Shera howled quite happily. She stood up and shook herself. She then stretched, allowing all of her joints to pop softly. She then remained standing up with her long, pink tongue hanging out of her mouth. "So do we need to go fix auntie's tent now?" She asked, her long ears flopping unhappily to the sides of her face.

When Alunn left, Azrael turned to his life reassuringly. "Its okay. Don't worry about it." He told her reassuringly. "He doesn't have a choice. It's all the."

Lauvel frowned and looked around. He was quite disturbed himself, but said nothing over the matter.

Veral smiled at his niece and patted her head gently. "Yes, we do little one. I know its not fun, but if we get it done sooner then the more time we'll have to play later." He told her as stood up and made his way to the entrance of the house.

Mazzia stood and gave Shinn and Shera each a nuzzle. "You be good for Veral and yopur Auntie Shana. I need to go back to the Spirit lounge, I have work that I need to do. I'll see you later." She said to them as she made her way out.

"Yes, I understand that." Miluiel said softly as she hugged Azrael's arm. "It is still just...unnatural." She said softly. "It gives me a strange chill." She said speaking softly.

Reluctantly Shera stood up. She jumped up on her hind legs to get closer to her aunt and nuzzled her warmly. "Good bye auntie!" She called after her and barked to emphasize it. She looked back at Veral where he stood, and slowly she began to trudge forward. "Alright," She muttered, "Let's get it over with.

Veral smiled at Shera and patted her head. "There, you see. The sooner we get this done, the sooner we can do something fun. Now let's go you two. Your auntie Shana will be up by now I think." He said to them leading the two pups out of the house.

Shinn kept close to Shera as he followed Veral out, looking at her with a sullen look that told he wanted to get it over with as well.

Azrael rubbed his cheek against Miluiel's. "Don't worry about it now. Let's get back to what we were doing." He turned to Lauvel. "Sorry about that. Let's get on moving." He told him as he started to move forward again, pointing out the different things about the forest around them and their culture. As they walked along they came across a tired looking male werewolf who was diligently watching over a gaggle of young pups about Shera's age that had gathered to play. Upon seeing the Alpha pair, the small horde of young pups surged at them skidding to a halt in front of them.

"Hello Alpha!!" They said in unison to both Azrael and Miluiel, as they both shared the same title. The male who was watching over them kept close to the pups and nodded to Azrael respectfully. One of the little pups stepped forward and looked up at Miluiel. "Miwuiel, can Shewa come out and pway?" The pup asked her, tail wagging vigorously.

Lauvel was intrigued by the scene. For the leaders to be addressed so casually by the rest of the pack. He would have to ask them about it when he got a chance.

"What well we do after we fix her hut?" Shera asked her soon to be Uncle. "How do we fix the hut?" She asked with a quizzical tilt of her head as they walked along, the prisoner's walk. She felt captive, and like other members were watching them, and seeing deeply into her. She didn't like it, it made her feel guilty.

Miluiel nodded. "I am sorry husband. Forgive me, now was not the time for that discussion." She said with a glance and a smile at Lauvel. She was asking his forgiveness as well. The petty minds of women after all. She followed after her husband in silence.

Miluiel smiled at the pup. She walked forward in her human form and knelled before them. "Hello kids, are you having fun? I think Shera is having lessons at the moment, she may also be fixing up her aunt's den, but after she is done with both then she may come out and play. I am sure she would love that." Miluiel said and reached out to stroke the pup's head.

Azrael sighed and let it go. It hurt him to know how other cultures simply kept their females in their den. It was an injustice and a waste of skill and talent to him, it was how he was raised. While there were differences between males and females, those differences were celebrated (with females being credited a somewhat higher philosophical position), and they did not affect one's place in the tribe.

Azrael smiled at the little pups and grinned. "Go on, little ones. If your lucky they might get finished by the time you get there." He told them.

The pups nodded and the one at the front turned. "C'mon! Wet's go!" And the pups ran off into the village in a disorderly pile, chasing and wrestling with each other as they went. The male watching over them nodded with respect to the Alpha pair again and followed after the children.

Veral hated feeling like the prison warden, and wanted to get it over with as well. He led them over to the Shana's tent, and tapped on the flap quietly.

Shana poked her head out and smiled. "Ah, hello Veral." She said to him pleasantly. He had been unsure of the blind half-demon at first and uneasy about his relationship with her sister. But they had proven to be good for each other, and she herself was fond of him. Veral was refreshingly... foreign, she supposed described him the best. "I see you've brought Shinn and Shera. Let's get started then." Shana already had a piece of deer hide and stitching materials. "Alright come over here you two. This will be good practice for the both you. You'll be needing to learn how to do this, especially when you get older. Tents and door flaps don't fix themselves." She told them with a sympathetic smile toward their plight.

Miluiel laughed as the pups turned and began to run off. She stood up once more and waved to the wolf who was watching them. "Have a lovely day!" She called cheerfully after him. Once they were gone she dropped her hand to her side and turned back to Azrael and Lauvel. "It is a lovely day, I do hope the pups can get their chores done so they can go out and play. It would be good for them." She commented brightly.

Shera sighed and trudged forward with a very unhappy frown on her snout. "Yes Auntie Shana." She mumbled as she made her way forward to the place where her brother and she had tumbled through the cloth. Seeing the spot once more made her cringe. She glanced back at Shinn and whispered, "We did some really bad damage to it, didn't we?" She asked shamefully. She looked back at the torn hide and shivered. She made a resolution to be more careful next time they played together.

Azrael nodded in agreement to Miluiel's comment. "I do too. I'd hate for them to miss out on a day like today." Azrael smiled after the tumbling gaggle of pups before starting to move again.

Lauvel's curiosity peaked at that point and he asked. "Your people address you so casually?" The look on the elf's face was quite intent. "Do you not enforce the use of the title of leader? No title for your rank?" Lauvel was very curious to werewolf society.

Azrael looked at Lauvel and shook his head. "I may be the leader of this tribe, but that does not mean that I am king. The only king among my species died centuries ago in ages of legend. All in the tribe are a family, and all of us are equal in the eyes of the great mother." He told Lauvel.

Shinn nodded. "Yeah... we did." He whispered back to his sister, equally ashamed.

Shana waved for the pups over, and motioned for them to watch carefully. "Alright, I'll start and show you how it's done. You may want to take your human form, the needle is easier to handle that way." She told them, doing so herself. Her human form was tall with a cascade of dark hair, that was braided and studded with beads and feathers. Her body was well covered in a deerhide robe, but her arms were bare and displayed a tattoo on each, each was a marking that was allowed be taken by those who chose to become warriors in the tribe. Shana smiled, "Alright now pay attention to how I do it." She then held up the piece of deerhide, and threaded the bone needle through the both the original flap and the new patch to fill it in.

Miluiel smiled at Lauvel and shook her head, amazed. Things here were so different from the elven kingdom. Miluiel herself could not believe that once upon a time she allowed others to call her by her royal linage. It almost seemed like somewhat of a selfless thing to be one with the people.

Shera sighed and closed her eyes. She pictured herself as a human child. She looked somewhat like her mother, and once she had this image set in her mind she began to morph.

Now a child sitting on the ground before her aunt Shera looked up. Her slanted eyes watched her aunt as she leaned down to begin the work. She squatted down on the ground, her loose dress wrapped around her slender body, one of the sleeves was also falling down over the shoulder. She watched closely as her aunt showed her what she needed to do.

((Sorry, I'm going to retcon something that I never really touched upon in SoD))

Lavuel nodded as the information swirled in his head. "Would you mind if I asked of his name?" He asked, wanting to know more about their history. Lauvel hadn't mentioned it, but his family was largely made up of scholar's and he himself was something of an amateur historian on foreign cultures. He then noticed something about werewolves, as female walked by in her human form, nodding and saying something to Azrael in their native tongue. In their supposedly "human" form, werewolves had pointed ears, but not pointed in quite the same way as elves were pointed (with the exception of Miluiel, who, with the exception of her clothing, looked very much like her portrait hanging in the royal gallery). No, even in their "human" form, werewolves still had somewhat "wolfish" faces, with their own pointed ears further giving off that likeness.

Azrael turned and smiled Miluiel briefly and addressed the female walking past them, before he turned to Lauvel and nodded. "His name was Fenris the Indomitable, husband of Miriallia, the Voice of the Great Mother. She was the last High Priestess of the Lycancia, the domain of the Werewolf in ancient times, and she was the Ruler of Lycancia, with her mate as her arm and adviser." He told him, relishing the chance to retell his people's heritage. She had bonded him when she was young, so she was quite old when he was left to rule. Fenris strived a create a strong nation, and very well succeeded for five centuries, but he died during the time of Chaos and Destruction... their eldest daughter attempted to claim ruler-ship, but before she could, the land fell under attack and the race of the Garulf, known to some as 'Lycans', were scattered and formed into the tribes that exist to this day. As a mark of our failure and shame, we now call ourself by 'werewolf' along with the rest of the world, and will only reclaim the name of 'Garulf' when a new Voice of the Great Mother steps forward to reclaim her people." Azrael told Lauvel, a hint of wistfulness in his voice. He longed for the day when his people could come together, united as one rather than divided into squabbling persecuted packs.

was quite silent for a time as he processed the information. Something about his story had seemed familiar from somewhere, but it was vague and couldn't think of it. "Fascinating." He said finally. "I would very much like to hear more histories of your people, perhaps even a few legends." He told him happily.

Shinn strolled up close so he could watch Shana's handiwork closely. He did not, however, take his "human" form. It was something that he didn't like to do, for reasons that even Shinn wasn't quite sure of. His father did it all the time, and it wasn't so much of pride that Shinn did not do it, but for something more or less vain. He liked his wolf form better was a close to his reason.

Shana strung the needle and thread through a several times before turning to Shinn and Shera. "There! It's not so hard!" She told them grinning, flashing fangs. She sighed when she saw Shinn had not changed form. The boy was incredibly stubborn about changing form and had suggested to Azrael to knock the habit out of him, as it could prove problematic later in life, but Azrael always told her that he would grow out of it eventually. He was in his rebellious phase, after-all. "This is going to be very difficult with those big hands, Shinn. I really think it would be easier if you would change form."

Shaking his head, Shinn said, "I'll be fine. I can do it." This provoked another sigh from his aunt, but the matter was not pressed any further.

Shana treated the pups to another grin and held the needle and thread out to them. "Let's get this finished with then. Who wants to try first?" She asked.
