It could only mean one thing. The orcs where getting ready to attack. But where? Gondor? Rohan? Rivendell? Lorien? It was hard for Aelin to grasp. She started blankly at the sky for a moment, then her manners came back instinctively and she turned her gaze back to the man standing before her. "It is nice to meet you Van." her voice was distant. After a pause she asked, "Where are you headed next?"

Another blade came whistling past her head, so close she could feel the wind of it. If her reactions had been any slower... she gritted her teeth. She would not be taken alive and would fight until she could no longer hold her sword. "For middle-earth!" she shouted in elvish, and the sound reverberated of the rock and down into the valley below. She used her elbow to give a glancing blow to an orc pressing her from behind and swung her sword in a wide arc, forcing them to back away for several seconds. They faltered, unsure on the rocky and corpse-strewn ground and she had several seconds in which to catch her breath. There were so many! There at least another fourty-fifty trying to climb over the rock. She sucked in a breath and released it slowly. She would be prepared for death when it came. Even if her last sword stroke took her own life she would not be taken to Saruman - or the Dark Tower.

Elrothiel defended again, weakly parrying a blow from her left. She knew the orcs were merely testing her to see how long she could hold out for. They knew as well as she did that it wouldn't be much longer. All they had to do was wait for her to run out of strength. She knew now that even facing torture and unendurable pain she couldn't kill herself. She had never felt so alone. Another weak thrust was aimed at her arm. The orcs were no longer jeering, they were waiting, watching her every move eagerly for the sign that she her energy was spent. She evaded the stroke and exhausted, she stumbled. Immediately they came closer, creeping up towards the centre rock where she stood. Another stroke. She parried. The clash of steel was too much for her. She swayed. Her sword arm dropped and she went crashing to her knees in front of the eager party of orcs. The world went black.

Isil's head began to flood. "Like I said earlier. I'm pretty much unfamiliar with my family. It does not cross my mind, usually. I don't care to know who I'm realted to, besides. All I care for is that I like whatever human side I have... not the other." Isil saw that the skies were now dark. She'd been concentrating on talking so much that she did not notice the change in light. "Should we rest or continue? Although I do sense some orcs here. Did you not notice their tracks earlier?"

Van shruged. 'I was planning on seeing where they were going, then I guess I would return to my hut just south of here.' he paused, 'I take it you dont like the orcs or any Mordor for that matter?' he asked her, wondering how some one could be so biast against an entire region.

A small grim smile crossed Aelin's face, "No I do not like orcs, or Mordor." her horse stomped in the back ground. Aelin turned her head slightly. Her horse was rarely spooked. What could be making her so skidish? she thought. Turning her head back to Van she asked, "Where the orcs far enough ahead of you to double back?" Her tone was cautious.

Elrothiel woke to a numbness over all her limbs. She tried to move but her hands appeared to be tied. She tried to open her eyes but everything seemed dark. She blinked. It was still dark. Her head felt groggy and she panicked. She could hear coarse voices in a harsh tongue. A flask was brought to her mouth. She struggled but with her hands tied she was soon overcome and a fiery liquid was poured down her throat making her gag and splutter. Then she fell back into darkness...

Van shrugged, 'I suppose...why? Are you huntung them?' he asked her. He was merly curious of why they were out, and had no intentions showing any hostile actions towards them. 'If you do indeed wish to attack them, could you wait a while and let me find out why so many are leaving Mordor and in such numbers?' he added a few secounds later.

"No I wouldn't mind." Aelin was somewhat surprised that he would simply ask an Orc why they where doing what they where doing. She tried to hide her surprise, but guessed that is was obvious on her face.

Van smilled at the look on her face. 'Unlike most people, I choose neither hate or love the orcs. They have done no injustice towards me.' he paused then lifted up his spear again. 'Well, I guess I should keep moving, I would like to catch up with them before sunrise.'

Elrothiel awoke at dusk. She felt like she was going to be sick. Her head was pounding, she could easily imagine there was a blacksmith hammering away inside her head. She was also blindfolded and gagged, with her hands tied behind her. The rope was tight and the knots bit cruelly into her flesh making sure there was no possibility she could escape. She rested her head back against the trunk. As long as they didn't realise she was awake she would probably be alright for the moment. She was relatively unharmed except for the numerous cuts and bruises she had sustained during the battle which seemed to have been inexpertly treated judging by the lumpy material around her arm. They definitely wanted her alive then. The real question was why?

"In that case, I hope you find whatever it is you are searching for." Aelin inclined her head. "Tenna' ento lye omenta." then looked back up. A breeze swept through the ruins, making her horse stomp uneasily again. Then she turned and walked around one of the still standing walls. She re-saddled her horse then untied her. "I guess it's onto Gondor." she whispered softly.

Sila sighed and ran her hand through her hair.

"Let's stop for a little bit. I just.... It's really a shock to me that a village like the one that you lived in exsisted. I really..." She shook her head and looked up at Isil. "If any orcs come then I think that we would be able to take them." She said with a smile. "After all it's not like we haven't been able to do so before." She patted her weapon and shrugged. "And it's not like eaither of us have really changed since the last time we killed any of the wretched creatures." She would have said horrid, or foul, but she reserved those words for the men of Gondor. For all the contact that she had come into with them had not been good.

"We don't have to stop thoug, not if you don't want to." She offered with a ltitle shrug.

Van nodded at her, 'Then I wish you well on your journey.' He hefted his spear in his hand and walked towards the other direction of ruins, 'If I find anything out, and I see you again, I will letyou know.' After saying this, Van continued north to th emountains.
