Random question; since I'm still a n00b… redface
I received a gift from someone, and I have reason to suspect that it's an item there's no way in hell I would be able to afford in the near future… (I mentioned the desirability of the item, in passing, in a thread where both of us have been active; not begging, but in response an inquiry as to how high prices tend to correspond to highly-desirable items. Just wanted to clear that up! lol )
I suspect that it's NOT botted gold, but there's no way to be sure. (And I imagine a few botters may wish me to shut up with anti-botting ideas, since there's been Gaia acknowledgement to a couple of them, meaning they're being read!)
So, by simply opening the gift, I know the item is accepted into my inventory. If it is later discovered that the item was purchased with botted gold, what would likely happen? As it was an unsolicited gift, I have no way to prove or disprove any interaction between myself and the other user.
I really want to open it! But I'm kinda afraid to! crying Also, is there a way to "Return to Sender" an unopened gift?
And, of course, I may be worrying over nothing. It may just be a small token of affection! heart lol But, considering that she's made it clear that she's taken, I doubt she's chasing after me. (Though she's cute, articulate, intelligent, legal, and a bunch of other attractive things! heart She also reminds me quite a bit of someone I once coveted… And I suppose, still do…)
OK! Plenty there to chatter about! Get to it! lol

I dont think you can send anything back...I've heard of accounts being closed because someone bought something on the market place that was bought with botted gold but not being closed from receiving a gift with botted gold....who is she? xd hmmm i think that you probably know this person well enough to trust them that you open it.

No, she's not in the guild. And I'm not revealing her identity until I at least open the gift! wink
I actually have never exchanged words with this person on Gaia, we just happen to post quite often in the same threads. (Often in close enough succession that one might think we're stalking each other!) Other than what she's written on Gaia, I know nothing of her. But, she's got an "old" account with quite a bit of "rep", so I suspect she wouldn't bot just for fear of losing it. 3nodding
The random PM from Rina took me by quite a surprise. I visited both our profiles, looking to see if we had commented on each other's profiles; I checked both of our recent thread posts; and checked for overlapping guilds. There was only one post which I thought may be relevant to a gift.
I guess I'll go and open it (and I'm actually hoping it's a small gift, as I really don't know how to thank someone if it's what I fear it is!). If you don't hear back from me in a few minutes, I've passed out from shock! rofl

You are eloquent and gentle, good kind sir, to that which can stir even the coldest of souls. Indeed a thank you from you shall be much a gift to her as hers was to you. Now getta crackin! Joe, you make me blush! redface heart
I've composed a PM; I'm just trying to get the balls to send it now. redface I'm afraid it's gonna come off all fanboy-ish and fawning. sweatdrop
But, alas, the banner isn't to my standards. Photoshop's being assy, and I was forced to use the GIMP instead. Unfortunately, the GIMP does a terrible job on anti-aliasing text layers when scaled down from a canvas size that is workable. I'm not going to pixel edit the thing because that time's better spent on the phone with Adobe tech support. 3nodding
I only made it because I feel that the 250x100 banner size is one of the smartest things I've seen for guilds in sigs. (You could theoretically advertise 10 guilds in 1 sig! eek ) It's nice to have 2 on one line, and a consistent height makes for pleasant viewing. 3nodding
If you're curious as to what I want it to look like, I can post a link to a larger version which the GIMP didn't manage to destroy. (Original canvas size, cropped to proper aspect ratio of 2.5:1…)
Of course, if someone really wants to use mine as a base, I can provide all of my source art. 3nodding (Avis and Gaia logos are .png, layered art is available as both .psd and .xcf. I think I can freely distribute the tagline font [not visible in current banner], as well, but I can't read Japanese well enough to parse the license!)

Bah! It's my life(-y?) and I can crush if I want to! lol (I'm sure you can place that to the appropriate song in your head, without prompting…) But, you guys flatter me so! heart I forgot to mention… Last "concert" was probably Zepperella in San Diego (last year); before that was probably Space Vacuum (from Outer Space) and Plastination in San Francisco (a couple of years ago…). And, my thank you apparently was apparently still legible through all the fawning. lol Quote: ah well, i'm glad you appreciate it. i figured you would which is why i chose to donate to you. heart (It really is too bad that she's taken! lol )
