Well considering all the Links so far have been descendants of the Hero of Time, I don't see why ALL the descendants have to be male. I'm pretty sure any Link has a fifty-fifty chance at a female offspring.

I want a prince of Hyrule. C'mon, there can't possibly be some magic that castrates them all at birth or that automatically changes a Y chromosome to an X. Just so long as he isn't some goddamned bishounen.

I always felt that if the CD-i Link was considered canon, I'd think that somewhere along the line a chromosome was somehow dropped.
...And if the same statement were true, considering that Ganon is the same Ganon through all the games, he must've REALLY hit rock bottom to be done in so easily by ONE HIT (read: one toss of a book)

TtheHero [Kegan] Nomega [Kegan] I think Link has always been an effeminate male or boy simply because it is easier to project upon a more androgynous (Thanks wayne) character. You are kinda supposed to be link... but link himself is simply intrinsically tied to the franchise. More than Zelda. I think it wouldn't be so off the beaten path to say that a female Link carried on the tradition of monster fighting. Of course he is tied to it. The legend of Zelda, as strange as it may be, doesn't need Zelda. Of course it does need Link, one way or the other. Zelda has even gone unmentioned in one or two games. She wasn't mentioned in Majora's Mask, was she?
And I remember in Link's Awakening, he nearly mistook Marin for Zelda. but after that, she was otherwise unmentioned. No no, she appeared when you recovered the ocarina.

Well, we can't say Zelda didn't appear in the Oracle series; she does if you do the password-linked game.

Just so long as he isn't some goddamned bishounen. That actually sounds like it could be pretty interesting. Not to mention that he probably wouldn't spend a good chunk of the game being kidnapped.

In that case there are like zero games where she isn't mentioned xd She came back to link in a flash back and explained the power of the ocarina to him in MM... it was kinda major.
