puppylove713 Yeah, but my chances of getting back in are looking even slimmer now... We have been looking all over for something that I could do to help out with getting the skills they want for me to get back in and we aren't finding anything. It was brought up the learning human phlebotomy would probably be a great help. The college I go to has a phlebotomy program that I could do, but I missed the signup date for this year. Any plan B?

It was brought up the learning human phlebotomy would probably be a great help. The college I go to has a phlebotomy program that I could do, but I missed the signup date for this year. Any plan B? No... I have run out of ideas. I spoke with the head person in charge of deciding if I go back or not. She hasn't changed her mind at all... We discussed some options, but sadly none of them are me getting back in. However, there is an option that I could settle with. It isn't exactly what I want, but it would work. Basically I would be able to use the credits I got through the vet program and apply them for another program that is a multiple skill medical type degree. Basically they are creating this program for students like myself who couldn't complete the program that they started for whatever reason. It is basically saying that I have the skills to do the things needed. I will never be able to become certified as a veterinary technician with it, but I would still be able to work as a veterinary assistant. They are basically a veterinary technician, but they aren't paid as much. And depending on where you work, you may or may not be able to do certain tasks. If I'm not allowed to help during anesthesia, I'd be very content with that. I really don't like anesthesia anyway. It really depends on where you are employed. So I suppose if I can't get back in, then I have another option...

My thoughts exactly and that is exactly what my one instructor was saying. They are concerned about letting me back in the program even though they really do want to bring me back. She wants me to come out with some sort of degree for my efforts even if it isn't my original choice. Speaking of that instructor, she made a blunder right after our meeting. Instead of saying get me done, she said get me gone. It was kind of funny really, that mistake made it sound like she wanted me gone for good.

Nah, I knew it wasn't meant to come put like that. We were both laughing at it after she said that. So I guess she knew I wan't mad about it. But if I were somebody else, that may not have gone so well.

Well, the chances of me getting back in the program are basically zero, but like I said earlier, there is another option. It just isn't available to us students yet. It is being set up for students like myself who were not able to finish the program they started for whatever reason they couldn't finish it. That being said, I'm not sure how things are falling into place...

That would have done nothing but piss me off if there were nothing else I could do. At least they are trying to help me figure something out so all of my time, effort, and money didn't go to waste.

That is just a gut feeling I'm getting.
