I read too many Star Wars books. It's extremely rare that the landing procedures go smoothly, and when it does it's usually because they're docking into their own side's capital ship or homeplanet.

I'unno, I've never done a Star Wars RP, and though I would either go Jedi or not go at all, I would definitely not Godmod. I ******** hate Godmodding...
But I'm pretty strict with my RPs, which is why none of them ever got off the ground, aside from the little one I got going mainly for kicks.

Bloody hell.
Thats the last thing we need. A member of the Law Enforcement Community on an outlaw ship.


Don't worry, a member of the CorSec would only be on such a vessel if he was undercover.

Especially in the old republic.


Main reason why I have a certain dislike for the Old Republic's novels...

I know Koth hacked the Mainframe, Darth Ham's guy was knifing stormies in the John, and Ral was....doing something.
Cale dismantled the entire squadron for spare parts. Explaining why so few were able to chase the Falcon on it's escape.

I think he was wandering the Death Star somewhere trying to do something. Really all I can remember is you, me, and Darth Ham's characters.

Ral wasnt all that active of a fellow in establishing an identity for himself.

At any rate, Those mother ******** TIE fighters are ******** deadly.
I had no idea until they shot our asses down the first time we went up against them.
And I think it was Ham's idea too.
Going up against them or dismantling them on the Death Star?

Yes, you guys are getting the idea.

I'd try to steer away from any real jedi involvement (although having a jedi chase after them would be kinda neat. Only if he's really inept though...)

And Cale, while the crew is what makes or breaks a ship, i dare you to find an outlaw who would not have something that was not modified in any way, bought stock right off the lot and never changed.

Just depends on what we get.
Think more along the lines of Firefly or Outlaw Star.
really, only two of the Outlaw Star's Crew wre real outlaws.
One was an assasin, another Ex Military, and yet another was a bioandroid.

I'm seeing as crew for the outlaws:

The leader, hopefully with enough rogueish spunk to be believable (Meaning Not Des).
A mechanic, possibly a droid just for the sake of having something believable.

And then we ahve three other chars, give or take. If it was going to specifically rip off outlaw star, we'd have

A mandelorian soldier.
An assassin.
A protocol shy slicer.


But that's a bit obvious. But I still think a padawan jedi would be an interesting throw-in (and partially because I could do that role easily). Along with something else. but Im not sure where.

It'd be interesting to have a "pops" character as the leader of the republic, especially if it was more of a jedi knight or something. A hutt for the pirate lord... As much as the original darksun being the main antagonist could be useful, I'm still short on people...

Lets see..What we should do instead of that line up is to actually gather a crew that would be useful, not just based off of some anime.

We need:
a Captain
a Pilot
a Navigator
a Gunner
an Engineer
a Medic
And perhaps some miscellaneous hands.

Those are the positions we should attempt to fill out.
Now, a ship's crew should consist of four people Minimum so we should shoot for that.

This Freighter will be a working class vessel so we should plan accordingly.
She will need repairs, she will break down, and she will waste a large chunk of the cash aquired.

I didn't say we'd need a single prson for each role.
A Captain is the guy who owns the ship. He doesnt have to be capable of Piloting, but on his ship, his word is law.
He sees the day to day operations of the vessel and is the one fto whom the crew looks for when they want their pay.
Its his job to turn a profit.
Now, if we have an astromech, that fullfils three duties in one.
He can pilot, fix things, and perform Navigational calculations.

What I'm trying to get at here is that everyone that makes the crew roster better have some skill and a reason why the Captain hired them on or why they're on the ship to begin with.
Outlaws don't brook freeloaders.
You pull your weight, or you get dropped off a lightyear from the nearest planet.

Really, it depends upon the type of ship we're talking about. If it's just some smuggler ship like the Falcon, then all you're going to need are two. If it's something like the Wild Karrde, then having all those roles filled by a different person would be plausible and probably best. I'm assuming there'll be no Errant Ventures around.
