 "If you insist." Red Hood replied grimly. As he took another step, he used his momentum from running to spin around on the front half of his shoe, bracing himself in place with his other foot as it whipped around. As he spun, he fired a round of bullets at the hero.

Cap didn't even use his shield to deflect the bullet; instead, he simply dodged. Not even missing a beat or losing his momentum, the Cap noted the hostage and decided that throwing his shield wasn't the best idea... Unless, of course, it was thrown a certain way...
He thrust his shield forward, and it flew right over Red Hood's head before hitting a far wall, bouncing off of it, and heading right for the back of the villain's head at an astonishing speed. If it hit... Well, good. If it missed, Cap would get it back anyway.

The shield hit, connecting with the back of the helmet with a metallic crack. Red Hood was knocked forward and slammed into the floor, his gun spiraling out of his hand and sliding across the floor.
His captive though, remained locked in his grip the entire time. The Red hood muttered something and pushed himself back off the floor as quickly as he could.

The shield found it's way back to Steve, of course, and he caught it expertly. He moved closer to Red Hood, and grabbed the gun, tossing it nonchalantly away before looking right at Red Hood's faceplate.
"Just let the hostage go, son. No-one has to get hurt," he said gently, yet firmly.

"No one gets hurt?" Red Hood repeated as he stood, the man still slung over his shoulder. "Now where's the fun in that?" he said, reaching into the inside of his jacket yet again, and pulling out yet another revolver.

"I can dodge bullets, son. I see faster than them," Steve said bluntly. "Now just let the hostage go. If you want a fight, then you can attack me all you want if you just let the man go."

The Red Hood chuckled. "I'm pretty sure I could attack you all I want weather I let this man go or not. If he had been cooperative to begin with, I would have had my information and been on my way. But...now I just need to take him somewhere that isn't suddenly swarming with costumes so I can politely ask him again." he said, keeping his gun drawn and aimed at the Captain. The whole bullet thing didn't seem to phase him.

Firestar reported in the location of the Red Hood entrance into an abandoned building, then she heard a familiar voice yelling 'Stop.' Firestar flew around where she could see Cap confronting Red Hood, "Cap!!"
Angelica flew in with her fire sheath around her and manuevered above and to Cap's left, "Nice to see you, Captain. Whiskey Tango?"
Firestar refered to a code meaning that she'd contain the bad guy, if he could get the hostage out of Red Hood's grasp.

Steve looked to Firestar and smiled. Another Avenger was around! A shame she hadn't been in Keystone City when he had called for anyone nearby to help against the giant. As she asked to use that tactic, Steve looked to her again, then to Red Hood.
"It's a-go," he said, before he moved quickly enough to roundhouse kick the revolver out of Red Hood's hand, and he ducked under the villain's arms, grasping the unconscious hostage and yanking him free before sprinting down the hallway.
"Now, Firestar!" he called.

 On Cap's command, Firestar dropped a ring of fire down around the area where Red Hood is standing and timed it for after Captain America rolls out of the way. (No guarantee that this would work of course.)

The Red Hood tisked, looking in the direction his revolver had been knocked in. The man reached into his jacket once more, and just started walking. THROUGH the flame circle as though it wasn't even there. He took his cape and started patting down the bits of his suit that had caught on fire, and pulled out a tiny remote control. "Absolutely no one here for weeks and weeks..." he sighed sadly. "And when I finally do decide to come out, look at what happens. Bombarded by the two stooges, ruined my suit, and now I'm out one building." He pressed the button on the remote, and suddenly all of the lights in the building began flashing on their own. "Ah, well...it can be replaced easily I suppose."

Captain America continued down the hallway and leaped out of a window close by, with the hostage still on his shoulder. As the man stirred, Cap set him down; he could see flashing lights of various colors in the distance: Red, blue, purple, yellow... What were they?

"What the ***-****ed ****ing **** happened?" the man mumbled as he began to come to his senses again. First met by a rather savage migraine, then a numb right hand. "Why the **** can't I feel my hand. Why can't I hear out of my...oh, Oh ****ing *****! My ear! My ****ing ear!"

Cap looked down at the man and bent over him. "Your ear's torn off," he said to himself, making a note of it. He looked to his hand as well. "You've got a bullet wound in one hand. Shattered bones, no vitals hit. You'll live once you're in the care of the EMTs..." He gently lifted the man up and began sprinting toward the lights that were flashing; his instincts told him that help was in that direction.

Firestar flew back out of the building, and then watched Cap take off with the injured man. Why he just left me... Oh, he's probably taking him to the hospital. Better keep an eye on this building. If our friend blows it up, I can contain the blast and the fire.
Angelica tapped her comm to appraise the police about the situation, "Firestar to Dispatch, the hostage has been rescued but the perp is inside with what I'm assuming are explosives in the building. He has a remote control in his hand. He is currently on the second floor on the east side."
