Kaya Marcellus
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaya was shocked to see Bray on the ground so fast. "Oh my gods! Are you ok Bray?!" he rushed to his lover's side, helping him up. He froze in place when he heard Notaro's voice.
"YOU!" he spun around, reaching for his gun, remembering then that he'd left it at the mansion. "Leave us alone, you psychopath!"
His fists were clenched, his halo suddenly reappearing as his staffed changed to a more reliable form. "I swear it in the name of the All Father, if you harm Brayden, you won't live long enough to regret the mistake." It was then that Notaro's words sank in. "I would trust Bray with my life, you sicko. I have done so many times before and He has never failed me. None of my Friends have ever let me down."
 Brayden Marcellus
Brayden's eyes had darkened when he saw it was Notaro behind the attack. Just when things had finally calmed down. Why couldn't they have just a few moments of peace?
The scientist merely laughed, a rough chuckle, but his glare remained on his face as he regarded the pair as Kaya helped Bray up, listening to the former prince's challenge.
"You really think you are a match for me, don't you?" he sneered, "Your egos so stoked by a few wretched victories that you're blind to everything else. Even with all that, you still manage to be a thorn in my side."
The Aggron stepped forward, eager for blood, but Notaro halted him with an upraised hand. The simple motion caused the beast to halt, glancing back with slight irritation, but the Aggron wouldn't attack without permission to do so. Despite how tempting the two humans were.
"Friends are merely a weakness," Notaro stated coldly to Kaya, "Even now, they hold you back. You could have been well on your way and safe by now, but yet you linger to help him," a waved hand in Brayden's direction, "One who's doomed no matter what he chooses."
"Although, I have to admit, when I received word of the two of you first partnering up, It was the cause for much amusement. To think, two of my failed experiments... and the idea of my own blood bedding a crowned prince from Harmonia..." he chuckled again, shaking his head, "A clone of my creation, nonetheless."
"I hope your time of companionship was worth it," Notaro sneered, "However, I'm afraid its at an end."
The Aggron grinned eagerly, shifting on its feet, metal plates scraping together in an awful screeching sound. Its tail lashed behind him, as the beast rose, prepared to charge at a word of command.
"I have need for Brayden's biological data," he stated simply, as if that was the most normal thing in the world, "Put simply, my research requires it. If you back away now, fake prince, you might just live. As much as I would love to see you torn limb from limb for what your precious farce of a family did to me, it would be a waste. Although, it has been a while since I let my Aggron feed..."
The metal behemoth dropped the tattered chunk of Brayden's sleeve, growling low at Kaya. He seemed quite pleased at the idea.
Kaya Marcellus
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaya's eyes flashed violently as his inner demon struggled for emergence. "You won't....."
The princeling fell to his knees, clutching his head as he felt the violent torrents of mental war waging inside his mind. everything blurred for a moment, and then all went black.
The princeling stood, his hair suddenly melting to a jet black, deeper black than the darkest depths of the abyss. His eyes opened, the color matched at long last. both red, with cat-like pupils. "The prince will bother you no more, father." The voice cold and brutal. "It has taken far more years than I care to admit, but I have finally destroyed the false persona programmed by the wretched king of Harmonia."
"Your humble creation returns to your command, Father. The Black Soul is ready and willing to follow your every command." Gormach kneeled before Notaro, knowing that his only chance of survival was to return to his original programming.

 Brayden Marcellus
Brayden was confused by all of this, but he knew that he certainly didn't want to cooperate with the madman. But with Kaya suddenly changing so drastically, and Gormach's re-appearance, he was at a loss. He stood there gaping for a few moments, stupidly.
'Uh... if you were looking for a time to run, boss... that'd be it...' Ariadne commented, although her voice had less of an edge to it as it normally would have. She sounded very worried, which Bray took as a really bad sign.
Notaro simply laughed at Gormach's victory, "Well then, here's a long-overdue command for you, then," he sated, "I want you to kill the one whom that flawed alter-ego loved so dearly. Just don't maim him too badly. I have need of him." The Aggron at his side let out a complaint of annoyance, but Notaro shook his head.
"Don't worry, I'll still let you feed. I'm sure there's some useless soul we can find around town afterwards for you to munch on." This seemed to satisfy the steel type, so the Aggron sat back on its massive haunches to watch.
Brayden panicked, flinging Ariadne's Pokeball from his waist, "Focus Blast!" he commanded, but Ari was charging up the powerful orb, even while still emerging from her Pokeball. It flashed violently, as the empath fired it at the Aggron. Maybe if he somehow chased Notaro off-
The Aggron roared, a fiercesome, painfully loud cry, all screeching metal and stone. The Metal Burst returned the Focus Blast right back at Ariadne, only its power doubled in fold. The Gardevoir cried out, collapsing, as the Aggron smirked. Notaro merely grinned, watching with amusement as the Gardevoir was forced back to her Pokeball, no fight left after that power-laden blow.
"That's honestly the best you have to offer, huh?" he mocked, and Brayden knew with dread that he was right. Gin was still far too weak to fight at full strength, and he'd have a clear disadvantage against the Aggron. And the rest of his team wasn't even at a fraction of the behemoth's level.
"Well, go ahead Gormach," Notaro laughed, "It seems he's already taken care of the hard part himself..."
"I'm sorry, Ari," Brayden murmured, very near to collapsing himself.
'...Told ya that was the time to run...' Bray wasn't sure if he really heard Ariadne's voice from her Pokeball, or if it was really his imagination; but it was certainly something like she would say, even at a time like this.

Kaya Marcellus
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gormach smirked at Notaro's command. "Gladly, Father." he stood once more, turning to face Brayden as his eyes flashed dangerously.
"I'm afraid, little toy, that we've become rather bored with you." he remarked to Bray as he stepped forward a few paces. "But you don't have to worry. I'm not going to throw you in my toy box and forget you. You're much too fun for such an end." He laughed and sickening sweet, blood curdling giggle, his hands spasmodically clenching and unclenching as if flexing invisible claws. "I'm going to play with you. One. Last. Time."
Outstretching his hand, the halo over his head vanished, suddenly forming into a blade. Not the Nagamaki which had chosen Kaya to be it's master. No. This one was far more sinister looking in appearance. A Kingsword whose blade shone with the colors of the rainbow in the twilight. The edges of the blade were sharpened to the point that even the air around it seemed to fear it's cutting power. It's hilt curled and spiked, red as blood and inlaid with obsidian stones. At the very end of the handle, an Odd Keystone glinted curiously as the souls within stirred to life.
"You shall be the final Damned Soul to complete my first Pokemon. My Spiritomb lacks the presence of but one to unlock it's form and become a soul of it's own." Holding the sword forward, an aura of purple flames erupted to life, spheres of emerald green swirling within the aura as it circled the sword's blade. "You destroyed the Sword of Slayers before I could gain it's power, but you shall taste the power of the blades younger sibling. This sword. Known only as "Decimation"."
"It ends now, plaything!" Gormach rushed forward, his blade prepared to cut Brayden down. The rush of air behind him proved the presence of the sword created a vacuum around it. It was, literally, a black hole, subjugated to it's master's whims.
 Brayden Marcellus
Brayden didn't bother answering Gormach. He had the sinking feeling that Kaya wouldn't be able to hear him now. Which did nothing to help his confidence of getting out of this.
He saw the blade coming as Gormach swung, and knew he couldn't stop it. Sure the Aqua Buckler could maybe deflect the sword from slicing him in two, but as he saw the distortion of reality that followed the blade's path, he knew, in an unsettling moment of calm, that there was no way he could escape that fully.
So Brayden did what he could, he brought the buckler out before him, for once the shield doing what he asked (although he didn't dwell on the fact whether it was because the Aqua Buckler actually respected him finally, or the shield feared for its own existence, and so decided that doing as asked was the lesser of two evils). A spiral of water was pulled from the air, pushing the blade with opposite, and intense, pressure. The blow still struck, gouging out a thick chunk of the metal of the shield.
The buckler cried out. Well, that was the best way to describe it. The shield let fly a piercing screech, the water whipping around the pair with quite a bit of fury behind it. But it couldn't keep this up forever, Brayden realized, gritting his teeth. His arms felt numb from the force of the blow, the vibrations had gone all the way up to his shoulders, a painful, annoying sensation that threatened to turn his arms to jell-o if too many more of those followed.
Brayden was barely aware that he was bleeding, although it wasn't clear whether it was from a glancing blow from the blade or from shrapnel knocked from the buckler. But there was now a warm wetness running down his side.
He focused the water that the shield had conjured up, bringing it to surround Gormach's head. He had been hoping to choke him in the manner that the shield had deemed it amusing to try out on Chloe back at Stark Mountain.
Brayden himself didn't have quite a lot of physical strength, and he didn't have any Pokemon that could help him out. Things were looking more and more grim by the second.
((How long did you want to do this? I can probably kill Bray in the next post. xD))
Kaya Marcellus
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gormach felt the blade connect with the Aqua Buckler, reveling in the sensation of metal vibrating against metal. The screech of pain from the sentient steel only served to make him thirst for blood. Not even the darkening patch of cloth on the younger male's shirt could slake the thirst for destruction that coursed through him at the moment.
The whipping torrents of water, which snapped at him and forced his blade away, were nothing to the blade itself. Gormach cut through the tendrils with ease, the aura about the sword's edge drawing in the free droplets, pulling them into the endless void within itself. He seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the struggle Brayden was putting up until he found his head engulfed in a pool of water.
He knew there was no way he was getting out of it to breath unless the master of the water was destroyed. His vision beginning to blur from the lack of oxygen, he rushed in once more, his blade thirsting for a taste of blood.
{{As long as you feel like going.}}

 Brayden Marcellus
Notaro was silently watching the exchange of attacks, amused by the display. He allowed it to continue, preferring to watch for the time being, and held his Aggron in check.
Brayden was slowly letting it sink in that this was a hopeless fight. There wasn't a way he could attack, other than with the water that the buckler conjured up. Unless he somehow managed to bash Gormach's face in with the shield, and he certainly didn't think the other would let up his swings enough to let him get in close with the Aqua Buckler.
Plus, there was the nagging thought that he was attacking kaya. No matter that it wasn't Kaya controlling the body, or even that the one attacking him no longer looked like the prince. But fictional fragment or no, Brayden had fallen in love with the Harmonian prince.
He faltered. It was just a moment, as the shield slipped higher than it needed to, allowing a fraction of an opening that only the quick of sight would spot.

Kaya Marcellus
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gormach was quick to catch the slip up in Brayden's movements. Feed me, you imbecile! My hunger grows! The words in his mind pushed him onward, his swings becoming more frenzied with each passing moment.
"You'll feed the darkness inside and unlock the spirit that's bound to it!" screeched the psychotic alter-mind of the once proud Kaya. As he charged toward the opening he'd seen, the blade drawn back as if to plunge into the young man's tender flesh, he faltered, for only a brief moment, his features softening for an instant in which he spoke two simple words. His voice as soft as a gentle wind through the branches of an ancient willow. "I'm sorry."
"SHUUUUUT! UUUUUUP! I DESTROYED YOU!" Gormach's scream was followed by the quick thrust of the blade, aimed at the soft flesh of the male who stood before him. "I'LL SLAUGHTER THE ONE YOU LOVE MOST! THAT SHOULD SILENCE YOU FOREVER!" He let out a piercing laugh, both maniacal and mad.
~~~Only visible to Gormach~~~
"Why!? We were just preparing to really start our life together!" Kaya stood behind Brayden, his arms wrapped tightly around the raven haired male, hands covering both their hearts.
"It's not fair!" Gormach screamed in anger. "Why do you get to be the one who's real!? I was made before you! I should've been the real one!" The maniacal persona's eyes leaked wetness unfamiliar to him.
"No, Gormach. You're wrong." Kaya shook his head sadly. "You and I were once best friends. You were my best friend as a little boy." His eyes showed sadness as he looked at the fragment of his mind.
"No! I've never been friends with any bleeding hearts like you!" Gormach's eyes clenched shut, forcing out the images rushing in of himself and Kaya playing together as children.
"That's not true. You were mine. I created you when I had no one else. You were once known only as Anam. You were my Soul." Kaya pleaded, trying his best to get through to his alter persona.
"NO!" Gormach's gaze faltered for only a brief second.
"Yes. Notaro twisted you into what you are now when he captured me again. When we discovered me with Father, he attempted to retrieve me. And then he discovered you, tucked away in my mind." The man's eyes bled tears like waterfalls. "He perverted you into something evil. Made you into a hate mongering copy of himself, hoping that you would turn me into what he had wanted me to be."
"NO! NO! Notaro made me to serve him! You're a false identity! That wretched king programmed you into my mind to placate me. You were the persona he wanted me to be." Gormach swung his sword at Kaya, frantic to destroy him as a bright light emanated from him, deflecting the blade.
"Your 'father' is nothing more than a psychopath bent on destroying everything. And when you are no longer useful to him or he grows bored with you......He'll kill you and use your data to perform another mad 'experiment'." Kaya informed, shaking his head as he held Brayden tighter.
"Why! Won't! You! Die!?" Gormach once again swung his blade in a wide arc, a frantic volley of slashes following as he attempted to kill the phantasmic form of his alter-mind,
Kaya was caught by the blade after a moment and his form melted away like the wind. "You'll never be happy with him around........."
The world around him and Brayden suddenly cracked like a fist had crashed into a mirror, shattering the image into countless shards, all reflecting fragments of the same image. Kaya vanished from the shards as Gormach watched. "NEVER!" the man's face erupted into life, enormously amplified, before the 'mirror' exploded apart and Gormach was dropped into a bottomless darkness.
Enjoy your personal Tartarus, demonspawn.

 Brayden Marcellus
Brayden watched with confusion, his arms barely keeping up with the blade. His opponent's wild swings were enough to keep him well on the defensive. Brayden was losing steam as Gormach's berserk attacks continued to wail on the buckler he held in his hands.
But then Gormach... no... Kaya had spoken. Those two simple words were enough to freeze Bray in his spot, losing control over the water that had been trying to choke Gormach, as the bubble of suffocating liquid simply fell to the ground in a wet splash.
The blade cut through his defenses easily during that moment of hesitation, and a blinding pain shot through his side as the sword cut deeply. He tried to gasp, but breath wouldn't come, a combination of having the wind knocked out of him, and a heaviness of blood in his lungs. A shallow hitch in his breath was all he could manage as Brayden fell.
For a brief moment of craziness, he could have sworn he felt arms around his shoulders, but then it was gone. Of course, he couldn't hear Kaya's side of Gormach's argument, but the sound of the other man shouting was enough to give him enough hope.
"You.... y-you're still in there..." he smiled faintly. There was a shimmer before his eyes as he collapsed, although he couldn't be certain whether to attribute that to something to do with the blade, or his own eyesight failing.
There was pain, of course. One doesn't get run through with a broadsword without a bit of agony. But Brayden was strangely calm. He wondered absently what would happen to his team when he was gone... He could hear whispers in his mind from Ariadne, but he couldn't decipher them at the moment, his mind too clouded to reach out to his psychic companion. He could pretend that he felt her emotions, though. Sadness, anger, and just a bit of fear and uncertainty. He recalled thinking that she'd never admit to fear, though.
He realized he was on the ground, although the memory of him falling was hazy. He could feel his lungs tighten dangerously, but breath was coming harder by the second anyway, so he didn't really think it really mattered anyway.

Gormach watched, with a rising sense of victory, as his blade pierced his victim, withdrawing it quickly. "My apologies. I didn't intend to give you hope." Gormach sneered, his voice dripping with hatred. "It seems I had a relapse. You see, my illness isn't easily controlled." He cackled madly as he turned away from Brayden.
"It is done, Father!" he cried, his face contorted into an image of ecstatic euphoria.
Father will be pleased with me! I am finally able to serve him.

 Brayden Marcellus
((Phew. Kanto all done in the other HL, so I'm taking a break for my wrists and typing up something a little less monotonous...))
Brayden merely glared at Gormach from his spot in the dust, holding his side in an unconscious effort to somehow stem the bleeding. It wasn't doing too well of a job, however, and he could feel himself weakening, even as Gormach crowed above him, proclaiming his victory.
Sad thing was, he was right.
"You are the sickness," Brayden spat vehemently, managing that much breath at least, but the effort cost him dearly, the world about him spun dangerously. He looked once more to the madman who was watching with a cold gaze and an even icier smile.
"Very well, Aggron, fetch him, he'll be dead soon enough anyway." The metal beast clomped forward, scooping up Brayden none too gently. Bray cried out at the sudden renewed pain at the monster's rough treatment, but it did little to deter the beast. The aggron merely tossed him roughly over a shoulder, and returned to Notaro's side.
"We'll be heading back to the base now," he informed his Aggron, who nodded.
((Also, feel free to control Notaro if you want him to do anything.))

Gormach followed after his "Father" with a sadistic smile on his face and a sense of euphoria within him.
"You have done well, my son." The word laced with suggestion slipped from Notaros's lips as easily as any other lie. His "son" would only remain useful to him until he had a need for the genetic data for a difference project. There would be many. And it was just so enjoyable to end a "project" the hard way.
"Thank you, Father. I live to please you." Gormach followed the man into the shadows between the Gym and the building beside it, vanishing into the shadows with the madman.
