Nelia was taken aback by Mana's words. She was speechless. No one had ever dared to talk to her like that before, but then she realized that Mana hadn't meant any disrespect. And... she knew that Mana was right. Even though she was considered a Goddess, in reality she wasn't truly a Goddess. She was Fa Ciel Tower's Origin Reyvateil, yes, but she wasn't all-powerful. And yes, she was growing weary.
Honestly, hearing Mana call herself a friend and offer to lend a helping hand made Nelia almost want to weep in gratitude. Somewhere deep down she had been longing for it. Her cheeks warmed and her eyes stung slightly. "...Thank you, Mana." She nodded. "I promise, until that time. Everything will be all right. And then, I will want to speak with everyone." She sighed. "It is strange, but it is as you say. I am tired, and I need some time to think about these things before meeting with everyone."

Mana~
"Just so you understand, no matter what anyone thinks, you don't have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders anymore. You and Rhaplanca, and Hikari too!" The half-ling grinned. "Now get some rest." She gestured toward the door. "I'm gonna take this time to prepare some stuff so we're not scrambling later."
Mana made her way over to her bag and then swung it around her shoulders. She already could hear some commotion in the halls of the temple, meaning that others could already be awake. "Okay, I'm out. Let the others know I'll be back soon if they wake up." She said before slipping out the door.
With everything that was going on at the moment, Mana figured now would be good of a time as any to take stock of what they had and what they needed in town. It wasn't that Zek's death didn't bother her, but she knew that while others were busy grieving over Zek and worrying over Aaron, things could still happen, and she didn't want to be unprepared.
That in mind, Mana quietly slipped outside of the temple, trying her best to ignore the hushed sobs coming from a few of the occupants in several rooms.
She wandered around town aimlessly for awhile, trying to keep focus, but finding it rather difficult. She stopped near a fountain and reached forward, splashing some of the water on her face. "Focus, Mana, focus," she chided herself quietly. She caught sight of the clinic and sighed. "Maybe checking on everyone will ease my nerves a bit." She headed towards the clinic and as soon as she set foot inside she was met with an unfamiliar girl. She was going to ignore her at first, but then she noticed that the girl seemed confused or lost or... something. "Hey, looking for someone?" She asked, trying to be helpful, but sighing inwardly. The others were going to have to wait.

The woman bit her lip. "She died... She was gone. But then it was them, wasn't it. They did something. The C.P.G." It wasn't a question. Her eyes glazed over, deep in thought. "Naomi had mentioned once, studying the Cosmosphere. She told me that a Reyvateil's Cosmosphere can stay intact for years, even decades after she dies. The information is stored in Ar tonelico... or in... her case... the Fau Pira." It hurt, but Melody couldn't even bring herself to say Tessia's name right now. It brought too many raw emotions to the surface. And she didn't want to speak the name out loud, anyway. Because then it would be the same as acknowledging that monster was what had become of her dear friend.

Miu Miu suddenly turn around to see a Teru standing near the entrance. "Yes, there is someone hurt from what appear to be lightning." Miu pointed to the Teru. "Is there anyone that can heal around here? I am new around these parts and..." Miu then paused as she sat down facing the floor. "I'm lost..." Miu said in a soft depress tone. I hope he finds me soon...I don't want to be stolen since he did say I was valuable. Maybe she is trades Reyvateil for a quick leaf, after all she does seem to play the part. Play it safe Miu, just help the person and leave the place as quickly and safely as possible. While this was going through her head, Miu moved over two seats and cautiously stare at Teru. Now that I think about it the other one does seem like a Teru Miu glance quickly and it was confirmed that she too was a Teru. she must of beaten her up for some reason, probably because they knew I was coming and wanted to take me away from the nice old man. Miu quickly grab hold of her knee and place her head on her lap, not knowing what to do in this situation.

"Maybe they're changing over the staff shifts or something," Mana suggested. "Who is it you need to help?" She glanced over to see the unconscious Ina lying there. She raised a quizzical eyebrow. "Eh... oh, it's just her? Yeah... you can just set her over there." Mana pointed to the floor in front of the swaying lobby door. She'll sleep it off," she snickered, attitude completely changing. She definitely wasn't going to go out of her way to help that Teru, not after she'd threatened her sister. Shrugging nonchalantly, she asked, "Now, unless you need help with anything else, I really gotta get going," she said, turning to leave.

Miko blinked in surprise at Hikari's growling stomach before bursting into a fit of giggles. "I think someone's hungry," she teased. "Nereus, we'll be back in a little while, but I think it's about time to get this girl something to eat, otherwise we won't be able to hear her pretty songs over her tummy rumbles!" She took the Reyvateil by the hand and waved to the human. "Get some rest! Be back soon!" Before tugging on Hikari's hand and leading the Reyvateil out the door. "After we eat something, we can try some more magic on Aaron if you still feel up to it. But we really should have you eat something before you collapse. You can't sing any songs if you starve to death!" She was talking before she almost walked smack into her twin sister. "Oh, Mana!" She noticed the girl behind her, and behind her, passed out on the chairs, lay Ina. She scowled and released Hikari's hand, turning an irritated gaze to her older twin. She crossed her arms and shook her head. "Mana, you weren't thinking of leaving them both there like that, were you?" She demanded. She turned to the girl and bowed in apology. "Please forgive my sister's rudeness. That girl had recently joined our group and got into it with my sister. Knowing my brute of a sister, if I'm not watching her like a hawk, she'll be likely to toss her off the side of the Tower."

"Hey Sis, thanks for the idea!" Mana said, grinning brightly at her twin. She shrugged off her sister's scowl. "Ya know, Miko, if you keep doing that, one of these days your face is gonna freeze like that. Then you'll be single forever!"

"That's hardly part of the discussion right now!" Miko snapped, her face flaming red. "And if that happens, I'll never forgive you!" She took a few seconds to compose herself before speaking to the Reyvateil again. "I'm sorry about that. The majority of the staff is out right now, and the few that are left are tending to some critical cases... however, she and I might be able to do something for her in the meantime." She nodded to the blonde Reyvateil beside her. "Oh, nice to meet you, I'm Miko, this is Hikari. And the thug I call a sister over here, well she's Mana." She ignored her twin and brushed past her. "Come help me, Hikari. We can eat and visit Aaron after, okay?" She took out her flute before starting to play the healing melody.

"Wh-what? My stomach isn't that noisy!" Hikari nearly shrieked, mortified. She gasped when Miko took her hand and led her out. She turned to give Nereus a parting smile before heading out with Miko, when they ran into Mana and another girl before her. She watched the exchanged between the two of them and bit her lip. "Um... you guys? I could be wrong but I don't think this is a good time to be fighting," she managed, but it came out in a quiet squeaky tone.
Miko moved to help Ina, and asked for Hikari's help. She didn't need to be told twice. "Of course that's okay with me," she said with a firm nod.

The Teru remained quiet, considering what Melody had said. It made sense, in a weird sort of way. He knew first hand how the C.P.G. could mess with someone's very being. Had they some how gotten a hold of Tessia's Cosmosphere? Corrupted it somehow? Could that be why the woman who killed Zek had Tessia's memories? He didn't have the answers, but he knew who did. Right before the transmission was disconnected, Naomi had tried to warn them of something. What was it that she had said? "Another thing, the one leading the ambush party, she isn't what you think she is, she's..." "Naomi... She tried to warn us.We knew to come to the inn because Naomi warned us about what they were planning. I think she might have tried to warn us about...Tessia, too."

She sat there, a blank expression on her face as she tried to process the information. "But... Naomi betrayed us before, so why would she try to help us now? What would she have gained from this?" Melody sighed. "I suppose at this point it really doesn't matter. We have bigger problems. Though I don't think we should trust her, but just take it in stride that she tried to help us. She might have motives of her own. As for everything else, that girl... whether or not she is actually Tessia, it's obvious that she's dangerous. What will you do? If she is working for CPG, it means she is going to keep attacking. Will you actually be able to fight back? Even if she isn't really Tessia, or if something has happened to her, would you be able to harm someone with her face?"

The Teru shook his head. "I hesitated earlier and look what happened." He glanced over to where his friend's body lay. If it had been anyone else leading the attack, Gannon would have killed them without a thought. But seeing her face, hearing her voice... She had been his everything and she'd been taken away from him. Now, it seemed like the C.P.G. had turned her into a deadly enemy.
"I need answers, Mel. Naomi seems to be the only one who can give them to me. Who knows... I'm probably playin' right into their hand, but what choice do I have?"

After the combination of her sister's magic and Hikari's Song, it was obvious that they both were helping immensely. "Pshh... see? The situation resolved itself. Now, if you excuse me..." She left the others to go into the room where Aaron lay. Now alone, only then did she allow a somber expression to appear on her face. "Hang in there," she whispered to her comrade. Sighing, she hung her head. "What to do...?" She gripped the side rail to the bed so hard her knuckles turned white. "Honestly if it were just me I'd have no qualms going into their base and raising hell. But now, there's others to look after, like Hikari and Nel, and Rhaplanca and Rinna... and Miko." She chuckled bitterly. "I mean, where the hell do we go from here, Aaron? Really?"

Hikari finished her Song, clasping her hands together behind her back and swaying back and forth shyly, glancing between Miko and the other girl. "I've done what I can now," she murmured softly. "It's up to her to get better now. Please excuse me," she said quietly, not wanting to be in the presence of anymore injured people. She followed in the direction Mana had left before realizing that Mana had gone into visit Aaron and then hesitated with her hand on the door handle, unwilling to go further. She closed her eyes and hung her head. Is this really all I can do? Hide in the back singing while someone is always standing in front of me to take the blows? Is this how it will always be? She shook her head. No! I can't let it be this way! I don't want to stand back while everyone gets hurt. I can't keep relying on others to protect me, I should protect myself too. Her hand clenched around the door handle and she found the strength to pull on it.
She saw Mana standing beside Aaron, an almost pained look on her face. Her gut clenched in guilt and remorse, and she knew what she had to do. "Mana..." She approached the half-Teru tentatively and took hold of her cloak. My Song is a Shining Light

Startled out of her daze by the Reyvateil, Mana jumped slightly. She immediately put up her casual front and smirked. "Hey, how's the invalid out there? Did ya sing her a lullaby?" Judging from the look on Hikari's face, she realized that she might as well drop the act. Sighing, she reached forward and patted the young girl on the head affectionately. "Hey, he'll be all right," she reassured. When Hikari's expression didn't change, she frowned. "What is it?"
