Selia and Valerie both ran to Sebastian, Selia reaching him first. "No, no you're not." She said, panic painting her voice and taking over her features.
Valerie handed him a piece of cloth to mop up the blood. "What's wrong with him?" She asked, her voice rising with anxiety and worry. She was unsure, scared, and worried Sebastian was ill beyond what she could heal. And Valerie was one of the most talented healers in the city, ranked to be the best for home remedies and herb mixtures. But this was beyond what she had even encountered, only had she seen this once. But the patient died from blood loss in only a few days time.
Ryan and Selia looked at each other and the click of understanding could practically be heard from their heads. "The medicine..." Selia whispered, her eyes growing wide. "...It was the wrong one." Ryan finished, running to Valik. "What was in that wrong bottle? And what's it antidote?" Urgency ran Ryan's actions, only his common sense keeping him from shaking Valik by his shoulders.

Valik shook his head. "I don't know! I grabbed everything I could find, I was in panic!" his palms were becoming sweaty. He's going to die because of me! he screamed in his head.
Sebastian took the cloth and wiped his hands and mouth. "Stop worrying," he waved his hand, "I just consumed the wrong thing is all. Let's get moving." Without waiting for a response, he made his horse continue onward.
Boothe sighed, knowing Sebastian was too stubborn to stop. He walked next to Sebastian. "You know what you took, don't you?" he asked in a whisper, still facing forward. Sebastian didn't reply. Boothe took in that was a yes. Sebastian just wouldn't swallow his pride and admit it.

Ryan nodded. "Okay. We'll figure it out soon enough." He listened in on Sebastian and Boothe, knowing just as well as Boothe that Sebastian was not going to admit he knew what he had taken. Sighing, Ryan went to his horse and mounted it quickly then trotted over to where Valerie and Selia stood. Bending down, he offered a hand and smiled softly to Valerie. "Come on, we should get going."
Valerie took his hand and climbed onto the horse quickly and gracefully, wrapping her arms around his waist tightly. "I missed you so much." She breathed, kissing his neck lightly then resting her head on his shoulder. Flashbacks of when they had first met played in her head, making her smile. Valerie used to be a homeless wench, as some would call her, and a thief. She had tried to steal bread from Ryan's old home, almost making it out the door. All that was heard was a small whistling of a blade cutting through the air, and she was pinned to the wall by her tattered dress. Ryan had taken her in, adopted her into his family. Only he thought of her as a wife instead of a sister. It was a blur past that, except for the day he proposed to her. A deep blush formed on Valerie's cheeks as the horse passed everyone. Ryan looked at Sebastian and Boothe. "We'll be just ahead, no more then a mile."

Selia walked over to Valik after Ryan rode off and looked at him somberly, noticing his shining palms. "Everything will be okay." She said simply, taking his hand. Walking towards Sebastian and Boothe, Selia looked at Valik and released his hand, still walking. "And that was very brave of you... In the castle. I'm surprised you were so ready to fight him." She remarked, remembering her own hidden fear at the moment.

Once Selia released his hand, he shook his head. He then walked on all fours as a were again. He nodded his head towards his back, offering for Selia to hop on.
Sebastian held in his coughs as he clenched his chest. His throat threatened to burst in harsh coughs, but he still pushed them back. "So," he began in a raspy voice, "where are we going?" he glimpsed back at the palace, but quickly looked forward. He silently scolded himself for it.
Boothe shrugged with a deep sigh. "I have no idea." he looked at the people on the streets. It wasn't as nearly crowded as it was before.

Selia raised her scarred eyebrow and half smiled. "If you say so." She muttered, climbing onto Valik's back and holding onto the fur between his shoulder blades. Looking down, Selia realized how tall Valik was as a were. She gulped hard and let out a nervous laugh. "This will be interesting..." Hearing Sebastian and Boothe, Selia looked up. "We could find a tavern, or even just camp out in the woods until we find a way to make money for supplies." She chimed in, hoping she would at least be taken into consideration at this point.

Valik trotted up to Sebastian and Valik. "Sebastian could work as a healer," Valik said in his were voice, which sounded demonic. "I can hunt." he suggested.
Boothe smiled. "Excellent idea, Valik." he patted his brother's giant shoulder. Then, he tightened the dirty cloth around his wounded leg with a small grunt.
"Still feel the medicine in it?" Sebastian asked Boothe. Boothe nodded in response.
"Sebastian!" a voice called. "Sebastian!" Sebastian turned to see Crystal sprinting to him. She held something in her hands. He cursed under his breath as he halted and motioned for the others to go forward without him.
Valik and Boothe did as Sebastian wanted. Boothe shook his head slowly. "She never gives up," he said with unsure emotion.

Selia glanced back at Sebastian and Crystal, but quickly looked forward, scolding herself for even letting herself see them together. "I used to do street performing in Scarilive. And that poster says that a carnival is being held tonight and tomorrow." She pointed to a large and colorful poster hanging from a flagpole above. "It make's decent money, and it'll be in fast." Selia had thought she would never go back to performing for people, especially after one inccident when she was seventeen. She shivered at the memory and rubbed her wrist, remembering the things the man had done. He was the only one Selia was okay with living in the dungeons of her old castle; it protected others from his eager and dsigusting ways.

Sebastian bit his lip so he wouldn't forgive her or touch her. "What do you want?" he said as coldly as he could.
Crystal ignored his tone. "Please," she started, trying to catch her breath, "at least take these."
Sebastian scowled. "I don't need things from you. We're fine on our own." he then turned his horse to leave her. For a few moments they locked gazes, but he then broke it off and sped away. He heard her call after him, but he kept going. Tears formed in his eyes as he sped past Selia and the others, and eventually past Ryan and Valerie. The gate opened just in time for him to leave and enter the forest. He stopped the horse when hidden behind trees and hopped off. Sebastian fell to his knees and sobbed, choking on tears.
Boothe sighed. "Let's leave him alone for awhile." he said as he looked back at Crystal, who was now making her way back to the palace.

Selia nodded. "I wonder what she had though..." She thought out loud, staring off at the poster again. It was brightly colored with a jester on it, performing with fire and juggling at the same time. She smiled and laughed to herself. It looked so immature, but fire was also so hard to depict. Looking at the times just below the performer, Selia made a note to explore the festival for the fire dancing, her old profession. Money was obviously not a huge concern in this place, but there was still some people who obviously struggled. Three children, two boys and one girl, ran across the street, the boys taunting the girl with a doll. Selia bit her lip and slid off of Valik as she saw the girl start to cry. She waved Boothe and Valik on, and turned to smile at the girl. "What's wrong sweetheart?" She whispered as she knelt down next to her.

Valik and Boothe walked on. Boothe grunted in what was like irritation. "We shouldn't keep splitting up like this. It's irritating." he commented.
Valik nodded. "Sometimes I wonder if we're better off on our own." he said silently.
Boothe looked at him, but said nothing. After a few moments, he turned back when coming near the gate. A shop caught his attention. "Let's browse." he winked at his brother as he turned the horse. Valik huffed and reluctantly followed.

The little girl pointed silently at the boys with the doll. They eyed Selia fearfully, and came back with the doll. They spoke in an odd tongue and handed the doll back to the girl, then ran down the alleyway. The little girl looked at Selia and smiled sweetly, though her face switched to a demonic look for a second. After that, she ran after the boys. Standing up straight, Selia widened her eyes and looked after the children. Shaking her head, she muttered to herself and went in the direction Boothe and Valik had. Seeing them in the shop, she peered through the door and followed in. "I have something I need to tell you." She whispered to Valik, still shocked at what she had seen.

The elves of the city gazed at Selia suddenly. Boothe and Valik gathered with her. "What is it?" Boothe asked as he picked up a dreamcatcher with black and white feathers. Valik was on two feet again, looking at a mini-sculpture of an elf sleighing a werewolf.

Selia didn't noticed the poster staring. "The little girl. She was smiling, then her face just went blank, then demonic. Her teeth, her eyes, everything switched. That's not normal is it?" She whispered quietly, looking at a vile of some purple juice labeled in the same strange tongue the children spoke in. This place doesn't feel quiet the same as it did before...Chills raised the hairs on the back of her neck, and paranoia set it. Selia felt like people were staring at her, thinking of ways to kill her and her friends. She shivered in the cool air of the shop, glancing around for the eyes she felt, ignoring the posters as a possibility.

Valik looked around and set the sculpture back on the shelf. Boothe raised an ayebrow at her and leaned towards her. "They're demon elves," he whispered, "must be a normal thing." he nodded as he stood back up. His eyes widened at the site of a fancy walking cane and headed over there. Valik cleared his throat and walked next to Selia.
"Things are too weird," he whispered, shoving his hands in his pockets. He tried to be nonchalant, but he was obviously anxious and concerned with something.

Selia saw the concern in Valik's features. "A little bit." She murmured back, wrapping her arms around her bare torso. As she walked, the posters eyes followed. Catching on, Selia stood still and stared back at one of a fire dancer, then stepped to the side. The eyes followed, as well as the fire's movement. "Whoa.." Selia's eyes widened at the obvious magic charms placed on the paper. She looked at Valik, fear and curiousness clearly written in her face as she reached out and touched the picture. The man smiled demonically and grabbed her wrist and wrapped his other hand around her mouth, keeping her from screaming.
