Darktail purred as he looked at his new apprentice. "Come on, let's go hunting." He mewed. "Unless you're tired from the battle?"
Waterpaw padded towards Cinderpaw. "Come, I'll take you to the apprentice's den, and you can pick your own nest." She mewed.

Cinderpaw glanced at Waterpaw and nodded. She followed her. The two Lakeclan cats were now apprentices together. Cinderpaw smiled and said her name over and over in her head. She was so happy to finally be an apprentice! Despite all she had gone through, she was excited, and it seemed as though nothing could extinguish that excitement.

Waterpaw smiled as she looked around the apprentice's den. "Do you want Darktail's old nest, or do you want to build your own?" She mewed.
Darktail smiled as he padded out of the camp. "Did Stormstar teach you how to hunt?" He asked.

Cinderpaw glanced at the old nest. "It doesn't matter to me. I'm just glad to finally be an apprentice. It seemed like the day would never come!"
Phantom's ears perked up as he heard the sounds of yowling somewhere close. "Cooper, do you hear that?"
(In case anyone's curious, he was hearing the cats chanting Cinderpaw's name.)

"It-it's a ceremony," Heronkit was hiding behind a tree after hearing the cat and dog talking to each other. "My clan is having a ceremony for an apprentice..." She mewed slowly, for she did not want to be attacked, especially by a dog.

Crow smelt a familiar scent and followed its trail. When he caught up to it it was a dog, along with a kit. "wait a moment," He began. "Aren't you that dog from Twolegplace? What are you doing over here?"

Darktail nodded. "Okay, tell me what she taught you." He mewed.
Waterpaw smiled. "Okay, then that's your nest. It's next to Daypaw's nest. And the day always comes, just sometimes it takes longer than expected." She mewed.

(Oy...I'll have to get Cooper over here.)
Phantom turned when he heard a small voice and saw a kitten hiding behind a tree. He faced the kitten, but stayed where he was so he didn't spook her. "Ceremony?" He had no idea what that meant. "And what are you doing out here?" He turned as he heard another voice. It was Crow!
Cinderpaw nodded. "It seemed to take forever. I just wish the rest of Lakeclan could be here to see it..."

"Well, we did a little hunting of mice, and she told me how to hunt all the other prey, but we didn't get very far." Daypaw mewed sadly.

Heronkit remained behind the tree, but her tone was more confident. "Yes, one of the kits just became an apprentice. And..." She paused and thought of the events at Twilight Clan camp. "Well, what are you doing here, and with a dog?" She stared at Cooper with distaste.

Phantom turned his attention away from Crow and looked at the kit once more. "This is Cooper. He's my friend. We came out here because we heard yowling here in the forest." He turned back to Crow. "You wouldn't believe what we've seen."
