Hmmm. Okay, so I was doing my random day-to-day stuff, and I came up with this. It has very little to do with the story, BUT:
With the AS movement quite apparent in the story, and the problems that all the kids are facing, even with some Betas and Alphas starting to make splits in the classes, then add on the fact that you will be having to work as a team when infiltrating...What would happen if the classes were to be split up into pairs, or trios? They train, work, and, when AbFam comes, fight, side by side. Every group would need at least an alpha and a beta. I haven't checked the list, to see if it would work...but it would definately change the face of AbFam. And the Alpha/Beta split, wouldn't it? Or am I just making crap up? sweatdrop
Here are the numbers, because I ran a comparison of my own, to see if it was possible: Alphas: 15 (Instructors: 4 Students: 11) Kyraa Rommy Meghan Weston Ally Blue Ruevian Keptan DV PFB Defenestrated Eternitian Fiddler's Green Koumeirah Gendou
Betas: 12 Mory Arc Grayed Amy Kia Calmer Vanov Byaggha Deoridhe Cassy Terianis William
Non-Aberrant:1 Usagi
If this were done, you'd have one pair of Betas, and the rest Alpha/Beta Pairings. EXCEPT, Kou isn't in the story yet. And appears to be an exchange student. Which means there are 9 Alphas, to 12 Betas. neutral Maybe it wouldn't work so well...
Edit: Nope. Wrong again. Gen wasn't on his own list of personas, which was where I got all the names from. Back to 10/12.

I just thought of something. Given the nature of Fred's ability, wouldn't it cause - at least to some degree - friction burns on her hands? What are her capabilities in regards to jagged projectiles as opposed to a smooth or pellet-like weapon?

I wonder if the fear-reaction in Rene will affect her future use of her abilies, maybe creating a shock-channel, making the rest of her efforts haphazard and far more dangerous?
And shadow-Gendou is a small, sad, black kitten who's been out in the rain. Really.

More layers.
Rowan has been perfectly trained. She doesn't care whether the mission is 'right' or not. Get in, complete the mission, get out...as little or as much evidence as necessary. She doesn't even have to like it. And when she doesn't, her passive aggressiveness is mild.
That scene says less about Rowan than it does about her handlers and their agenda. Not good.
Cal's dad is -fascinating-. It's true that the institute is too results oriented to properly explore abilities. It's a very blunt approach. Cal's dad is a next-generational thinker. It's the difference between skateboarding in the 60's, and now. Cal's dad is a Dogtown boy. This could be good or bad for cal. It may push him into a position where Aberrants come to understand their worth outside of being weaponry. At the same time, this kid has ENEMY OF MANKIND stamped all over his face.
That makes for an interesting side-question. Was Meghan upset with Rowan for her possible AS beliefs, or quietly disturbed that Rowan expressed an opinion -at all-?
And in come the foreign team...Along with an echo of the Project Blue debacle.
Good work.

Wow... so Rowan didn't just assassinate, sometimes she ruined, too.
I liked the scene about beta abilities and working smarter; to be honest, the alphas could use that sort of thinking, too.
... Not much else to say. sweatdrop I think I've exhausted the theory center in my brain.

Oh neat! Cal has a new way to use his powers now! His dad is a great motivator, but I feel like the betas are going to forget what side they are on. They focus on beating each other too much, but classes are laid out like that. Time enough for working together later?
Hehe, so many sequals to games. Crazy.
Teachers with the students? That makes more sense for spy-work. Scary to have them in the school, they teachers would have to be ALphas, at least Pryce seems to know the people coming so will at least know somewhat the extent of their powers. Eight versus an entire school couldn't be too bad, right? I hope not.

I really need to read twice before I post.
I missed Rowan's joy and motivation. Being alone, free, doing the impossible, stretching herself to the limit, putting everything she is to the test without being under someone's thumb.
That's so sweet.
Also, the tension between Gen and Rue in the aftermath is getting interesting. This is only going to get worse. smile

Yikes, Rowan is starting to seriously creep me out, since she has this ceramic doll of death thing going on.
Hobson's talk with Cal really says alot about the difference Alpha and Beta level powers. It was very well written, too.
Hehehe, Soul Edge V, that is great. Rene seems like a Ivy or Seung Mina user, while Weston seems like the kind of guy that uses Maxi to great effect.
Ooh, Foreshadowing about the exchange students, I am intrigued and wish to learn more. 3nodding
Another great chapter, Gendou, please post another chapter soon!

Another kick a** chapter. I suck at leaving comments, so I hope you don't mind if I leave the in-depth analyses to the others. sweatdrop

Lasreaine Eight versus an entire school couldn't be too bad, right? I hope not. And even eight against the whole school would be assuming that all four pairs of foreigners are allied with each other. This is far less likely to be an open battle than it is to be a chance for intelligence gathering.

I used to be a Taki woman, but since the recent game, I love Setsuka. I'll use all the characters at some point, though. ... Yeah.
