Tim drove through the interlocking streets, trying to at least get to a less crowded part of town. He called into Nightshade, seeing the calculations of how far away Oracle was from his current spot.
"Nightshade, it's Robin. Is it alright if I could get a portal to the Institute?"
Robin spoke quickly but clearly as he continued driving between cars in a traffic jam he had reached.

Nightshade's voice chirped from Robin's comm, "You got it, Robin. You should see it just ahead of you."
Half a block ahead of Robin, Des' portal appeared.

Nightshade didn't even have to be nearby to open such a gateway.....
"Woah..."
Tim said to himself. Robin immediately placed his focus on steadying himself for the portal, and he shortly accelerated into the dark swirl of energy with the Redbird.

BANK ALLEY The Red Hood received no reply other than some rather strong cursing and directions on somewhere he could go. He sighed, then leaned back as he drew his gun away and placed it carefully back into his jacket. "Honestly..." he tisked. "I ask one simple, tiny little question. And you make enough of a fuss to wake everyone up from here to Crime Alley." he said, then pulled out a small vile from his vest pocket. "And I'm afraid I just can't have that. Why just think of all the working men and women who are trying to get a good night's sleep to be fresh for work tomorrow! It would be no fun at all if I decide to blow something up and they're all too sleep deprived to properly appreciate it. So..." he said, the last word a little more sinister as he opened the file and tipped it over the man's face.

Firestar kept flying; and in an alley way near one of Gotham's banks, the Jersey born mutant spies a man in a tux with a cape and a 'red bullet' for a helmet? And there was at least one dead guy by him. Swooping down to hover overhead, Angelica reinforced her firesheath before she full announced her presence, "Hey, hold it right there, .... ummm... Bullethead, ... or whatever your name is."

BANK ALLEY The hand holding the vile froze before it could be tilted far enough to be poured over the man's face. The Red Hood turned his upper body around to face the new voice, immediately drawing his revolver again. "Bullethead?" he questioned out loud. "My, my. Not even close. I'd fare to say you don't know what a real bullet looks like." he said, aiming the gun at her. Then his muffled voice took a more serious tone. "And unless you'd like to find out...I would leave."

Angelica tried so hard to keep herself from laughing, and ended up smirking down at the Red Hood, "Says the man wearing a helmet that looks like a red pill capsule. Oooooooohhhh." Oh God, Spidey is wearing off on me, Firestar inwardly thought, "But... That's toooo much of a dangerous toy for you, Chrome Dome." The redheaded mutant shoot out a focused beam of microwave energy to try to blast the gun out of Red Hood's hand, while maintaining her fire sheath to imediately melt any incoming bullets.

BANK ALLEY The gun was successfully blasted out of Red Hood's hand, but that was it. The man didn't so much as budge. He turned to look back at his now smoking gun that was quite a few feet away from him and tisked. "If you think that is too dangerous for me, then you have no idea." he said, turning his attention back to her. He reached into the other side of his jacket, and pulled out yet another revolver, aiming it at her again. "But..." he began with a sigh. "I really don't have time for this. Not out in the open any way."With that he pulled the trigger, simultaneously pouring the vile of liquid onto the man's face. From the liquid, the man screamed. From the gun, extremely thick, dark purple smoke barreled out of the gun, filling the alley way.

Firestar was a bit surprised by the purple smoke and blinked, "Okay....." Angelica carefully used her power to burn away the purple haze to see again.

By the time the smoke cleared, both men were gone. The corner of a bright red cape curled around the corner of the building at the far end of the alley. Red hood had picked up the one-eared man, tossed him over his shoulder, and was now running with him down the maze of back alleys to escape.

Firestar looked around and just spotted the trailing red cape, "Crap." The fire-wielding mutant flew upward over the building Red Hood had just rounded. Following the criminal high and behind, Angelica shadowed him and used her Avenger communicator to call Gotham PD, "Dispatch, this is Firestar. We got some nutjob wearing a bright red pill capsule-shaped helmet with a hostage. He's heading east down an alleyway on Carter and 108th. I'm flying above him right now. Do you have any available units that can head him off?"

'We have one unit on standby in that area. It will head you off in two minutes.' the dispatch replied.
Red Hood continued down the alley, then rounded a corner and went strait for a blue metal door on the side of the building right of him. He nearly ripped the door off it's hinges as he flung it open and raced inside, slamming it back shut.
From there, he raced down the empty hallways until he found the stairway. He dropped his hostage on the stairs carelessly, then fumbled around in his jacket for something.

[Enter CAPTAIN AMERICA from KEYSTONE CITY]
Steve Rogers kicked himself mentally as he roared into Gotham on his bike. The giant he and Bucky were chasing, the one with the black ring, had disappeared, and so he'd ordered James to split up from him as they decided to search. Eventually, this led Captain America to Gotham City, which he noticed looked rather... gothic. Bleak, almost.
Definitely not like New York, he thought as his bike moved swiftly down the streets. He caught a glimpse of a chase going on, and stopped, braking his motorbike in an alleyway. One of the people, at least was flying through the air, and from his enhanced hearing, he could hear the woman try to radio in to the city's police department.
So... a criminal getting chased, huh? Might as well help out while I search for that giant, Steve thought to himself, dismounting the bike and beginning to follow, swiftly managing to get close to the chase, just as Red Hood got into the building he was now in. Steve's eyes narrowed a bit, and he looked up to see Firestar before moving into the building on his own accord.

Red hood heard the door slam shut again, and muttered something that was hushed behind his hood. He glanced back at the way he'd come, and slipped his hand back out of his vest pocket. Turning back around, he grabbed the man and slung him back over his shoulder. With his other hand, he slipped his revolver back out and ran off to continue down the hall. Needed to find the elevator.

The Cap, using his heightened senses, followed the man, tracking every sound he made as he ran up the stairs in pursuit, ctaching a fleeting glimpse of the man.
"You! Stop!" he called, charging down the hallway and getting ready to throw his shield.
