puppylove713 Yeah, but he had more trouble than he should have. But he made the first mistake of choosing Chikorita first. He should have started off with Pikachu and swept the battle. Anyway, enough about how the anime made/makes bad choices. I want your opinion on something. I have been playing with the thought of making a very and I mean very long Pokemon fanfiction. I was going to turn my gaming experience into a fiction and linking them together as if the trainer were traveling from region to region like Ash did in the anime. I was thinking about adding in the islands of Leaf Green version and making them the Orange Islands, but seeing as there are seven islands, I would need more leaders and more challenges for my character. I was also thinking about adding the Gamecube version (Gale of Darkness) in as well, but I'm not sure how to pull that off. What do you think of this? It's an intriguing idea. To help the idea along I'd question if your characters journey running parallel to the canon story or are you going completely original with it? Are you going to keep pokemon is their own region or have them already migrating around? Will your character be a hero or a villain?

puppylove713 I have done some major thinking on that and well, I like certain aspects of the games more than the anime, but at the same time there are certain aspects of the anime that I prefer. So what I was thinking was make my own storyline, but keep certain parts of the games and anime in there as well. I think it can be done. Just make sure to balance logic and suspension of disbelief in Pokemon battles.

puppylove713 That is going to be the difficult part for me. I've always been bad at those kinds of thins. The same issue goes with fight scenes in fictions like my Yu Yu Hakusho one or matches in my Prince of Tennis ones. Heck I have even tried my hand in a Yugioh 5Ds one chapter short story and didn't so so well with the duel.... Those are my one weakness in writing. Otherwise I'm sound. The game logic should be pretty straight forward with type advantages, moves, and abilities. But realistic logic is taking into account levels and battle experience. Plus being creative with how moves are used.

Is it just me or did it seem like the pokemon knew endless attacks in the anime and weren't limited to just four at any given time like in the games? I think it might be still four. At any given battle in the series, they will only use four certain moves. Over time some will get replaced when they use/learn new moves. For example like Ash's Pikachu. If you follow him through the series, some moves just don't get used anymore. Of course one could argue this between the anime and game mechanics. But in the end it's up to interpretation.

If I want to make my Pikachu know six techniques at once then I can make it know six techniques at once. Not likely I would do that, but you get the point. Indeed. Though you might run into some die hard purest who'll flame you for the tiniest detail. I ran into a few of those and they are down right unpleasant.

She was going to rewrite it and was doing so, but she lost everything she wrote on it and all of her other stories when her computer crashed and was beyond repair. From that point on, she has had her stories saved in various places. yikes. what was the fanfic?

puppylove713 It was a Harvest Moon fiction. I forget what it was about because it has been so long. All I remember is there was one little detail that threw a lot of people into an uproar. I think it had to do with making one of the characters in the game having a smoke, but he doesn't smoke in the game. I remember mentioning something about how I didn't really like the aspect myself, but I wasn't really flaming her for it. She likes how I am honest with my opinion without going overboard with it. Wow that is kind of extreme just for a cigarette. Though I would question what character it was and if such a thing could hypothetically fit with their character.
