It's an idea I had at school while listening to my iPod. Opiate came on, and I started thinking where I could put that.
Dug around for pics when I got back. Neither of those had been colored, only one had been scanned. I had to dig through a pile of sketches on my bookshelf for the one in the front, then do a quick color job.
Background is a CG from Fate/Stay Night I had laying around. Have one colored picture in the front and then a half-opacity enlarged lineart in the back.
I usually don't like every word capitalized either (or even just the main words like there, leaving out the connecting verbs), but it seemed to work for it. The light text was a must considering the dark background. Obviously "like me" was meant to stand out. I couldn't find the text that I had in mind so I had to make due.
And the scratchy text? Since it's a character sig I figured I should probably have the character name in there somewhere, but everything was already so full and it would look like s**t to overlay it on the picture. I tried doing it across the back in large letters, but it conflicted with the lineart, so I reduced it and stuck it in the right corner. I think it looks pretty good, considering. The name isn't really the focus of the graphic anyways, it's not intended to be.

Oya. [.. X ..] i like the font on "like me." The font is "Engraving MD" or something like that. Just silver color with a gradient overlay on the text. Had to fidget with it a little so it didn't look too horrible. I'd originally tried doing a bevel and emboss, to make the letters look all metallic and solid. It wasn't working right, though.

Ah. Paying for art.
Something I've never done.

I like paying people for stuff that takes effort and skill. That way I don't feel like I'm shafting them for cost or whatever.

you're using photoshop, right? well... maybe i can tell you my settings in psp and it'll make sense to you. looking at tutorials, i got a really good soft metal and bubble-like bevel setting.
i'd pay for art, but people usually want souls for art. i know that it means a lot, but damn. i told sierra that i'd only charge like... 10-30k base for a song and she responsed with "that's WAY cheap. o.O" so... lets ya know what people expect.

I'm not really wordy with my PSP stuff. I just kind of go with what I can do. Very much a fan of simple cell-shading style coloring, because I'm not a painter or anything and I'm not good with that brush stroke stuff.
Psh. If I wanted art, I'd pay for what it's worth. But I just draw my own stuff, or Kat does one of my characters, or I blackmail Sunny, or something like that.
I don't go shopping for people to draw my characters.

Insanity. What version do you have?
edit: I've got 7.0, as I've had for the last several (5?) years. I imagine they're up to 9 or something now.
