Tinaksite9 + 8 + 6 + 5Tinaksite frowned deeply, confused by what was going on. Confused by the chaos that was around them, but she didn’t have time to worry about that chaos…there was too much to do with the two other officers that were with her but…
But god it was hot. She swallowed hard and tried to cough, for a moment it felt as though she couldn’t breathe, and there were tears of frustration in her eyes that had nothing to do with the heat, but at least she could pretend.
The Captain moved to answer Laven’s apology with a question of her own, when suddenly the girl was doing something…and pouring water onto Wolf.
Maybe…that would do him good…?
Taking a step backwards though, unsure of what she should be doing at this point, Tinaksite nudged a rock and it fell, bursting as it hit the flames and smothering the nearest ones. Well. Maybe that was something.

At some point, they all separated, Brioche falling into a crack and immediately popping back up. In that instant, he desperately looked for Nia, for Arthur, but the shadows were too numerous, and he was alone....
Then there were flames.
Fire.
And heat, so much damned heat, he swore he could feel the flames lick and touch his fur, singeing it. But he wasn't about to simply give up!
One particular rock was nice and big and loose, and with a nice hard ram of it, it went down and smothered some of the fire.
Good! Maybe with less fire, he could find the people he was with again, so he kept going!
meynara For ease, I'm gonna pull Brioche away from the group! Towards the end, I'll have him find Nia again.

Someone had grabbed him and helped him up. Someone was shouting for him and made sure he was alright.
And Izzy wanted to thank them.
But between the screaming and the flailing and the general confusion all around, the moment he was up again, he BOLTED towards the center of the platform again.
Right into flames.
"AHHHHH!!!" Something on him caught on fire! His shirt? No, maybe his pants! Either way, he was screaming, dropping on the ground to do that so long drilled in his head 'stop, drop and roll', to maybe, JUST MAYBE save himself! He could already feel his skin burning... How the hell was he going to explain this later?!

Anxo wish he could say he was doing well here... He wished he was powered, and could atleast be of a little better benefit to his partner. But he wasn't.
His darling had to pull him out of the way of the opening ground beneath them, only to get hurt himself.
"Athene!" No sooner than when he tried to scramble up, did he find himself forced to the ground again, the heat overbearing and drowning out any sense he had. Surely, he'd be cooked alive in the next few moments, but he wasn't about to give up just then. Even in his staggered state, he manged to find his way back to his beloved, only to fall to his feet once again, gasping for air.

The heat was not so kind to Solieyu, whose fur seemed to absorb the flames entirely. He didn't catch fire, but it was hot enough that he seemed momentarily stunned. His body was limp in her arms and all he could see was stars. Still, his body against hers, he felt at least some peace. He wasn't dead. She wasn't screaming.
He was tired, like he'd just had sun stroke or something.
...Ugh, he didn't want to move. But he didn't want to die, either. Or be dead weight, for that matter.
Vaguely, he could hear people speaking, moving. Things moving.
It was a struggle to bring himself back to awareness, and when he realized what was going on--what the girl was doing. She was trying to heave rocks, trying to knock them down.
He couldn't do much, he was too tired--and still in her arms, so he stuck his back legs out and kicked with her.
It must have looked silly, but it was all he could manage.
"You're doing so well," he praised, figuring what his body couldn't do, maybe his words could. She was bigger than him, stronger. She had pulled herself up before--she could do this.
Maybe they'd actually get out of here, after all.

Arnica moved with Lacerta, saved by her grip upon him. He had been transfixed by the creature, eyes locked onto the flame with the same entrapment as a moth to the light. She had snapped him out of the spell. "I'm fine," he had insisted, managing to tear his gaze away from the fiery creature just long enough to see the rock she kicked explode into a mist of ash.
"I'll find some," he promised; his eyes still burned with the brightness of the flame, moreso given the bright contrast against the darkness behind them. He shook his head as if it would clear his vision but when it did little he simply relied on his hands to find something to push into the chasm. It took only a few seconds before he met the cool, rocky surface of some sort of debris and he gave it a push to join Lacerta's.
"You're pretty good at this," he said, figuring it was easier to make a little conversation than it was to let himself remember there was a flaming monster towering over them, far too close for comfort. "...I'm lucky to have run into you. I'm still a little new to this whole thing. Does this happen often?"
