Despite the fact that she had been absolved of all intentional guilt, it was still through her that Norrington had come to be on the ship. Transferring ships easily enough and skipping through into the enclosures. "Hi honey, I'm home!"

"Dynamic Duo of Dopamine." Making a face at that...sometimes people could be too happy and they were a shining example of that. Or she was being overly sensitive right now. Probably both. "Long as they don't break anything." Holding out the vial to him. "You want this or not? I'm not a babysitter."
"Don't those moods mostly connect directly to how you boss is feeling? Sometimes I swear they have connected microchips in their heads. And you should really petition for that back. But he followed her. "So what can your thing do that's so exciting."
He was just coming out of one of the enclosures, brushing various dirts and such off of himself. "Does it really take that much time to tinker around with that - whoa. Who prettier you up boy?"

James got himself up and did indeed take the vial, and started on the incubation process, watching it carefully and grinning lightly.
"never ceases to amaze. good thing I was born a male. I think if I was a woman I'd have a dozen or more kids by now."
glancing at her slightly.
"Doesn't it feel a little better to be working on something again?"

"You have to see. It's not enough to tell you he can do it." She dragged him along and then stopped as Eric appeared before reaching over and punching him in the arm. "Take it up with Jessica. And don't be mean, Eric. Rennell's still sensitive about his new looks. I think he looks rather dashing, don't you?" Wrapping an arm around her fellow sunshine-spreader and then dragging him forward. "We're just going to visit the peryton. You can come if you want."

"Good Lord, I can only imagine the horror. A whole troop of you, conquering and setting to order all things messy and unorganized in the land. Stacks of paper would desintigtate at your very looks and donuts would roll away in terror." Giving him a little smile though, "So you were right...don't gloat."
"Ow." He rubbed at his arm and shook his head. "I still say he looks pretty." Of course he was going to tease Rennell up and down. But he stepped aside as she dragged and followed after as well. "Are you showing it off again?"

"not gloating. just glad you feel at least a little better."
A slight chuckle at her idea about him breeding an army.
"Indeed. the world would be in perfect cleanliness, and all donuts with holes would be replaced with the cream and jelly filled kind."
Walking over to her and giving her a small kiss on the lips.
"so, anything you'd like to work on, Jellybean?"

"Hey, you might not be excited about what my baby can do but I am!" Strolling through the compound until she came to the peryton's enclosure and giving a whistle which got the deerlike creature up and moving over by her, nuzzling and looking for treats. "Show them what you learned how to do!"
Raedon cocked his head at her and then shook his head as he flapped his wings and began lifting off the ground. He hovered a few feet above the ground of his enclosure and then took a dive down, down, down until he pulled up at the last second and did a barrel roll flip and landed on his hooves. Glancing at the three humans unconcerned, he once again made a noise.
She clapped her hands and laughed happily then reached into her pocket and pulled out treats. "Is that not the most amazing thing you've ever seen in your life!"

"I would have to become a refugee and live in the colonies that would form, made by junk and by others who simply could not live by your standards. We would have to rage war and slaughter you precious dounuts as edible sacrifices." Turning a look up from him where she was sat. "How about I'm lazy the rest of the day?"
"Drat...I'm not the only flying impressive thing anymore." Pouting in his own way before he got clapped on the back by Eric. "It's pretty nifty for something not normally aerodynamic though. You taught him to do that or did he learn it on his own?"
"My question exactly." Because that seemed pretty complex. The flying Echoes they did possess flew out of need rather than play or command. And she shouldn't be teaching him tricks if that was the case. If it wasn't...well then, they might have a brand new study on their hands.

a slight grin.
"How about if you want to be 'lazy' the rest of the day, then you can busy yourself tending to the echoes. it'll relax you and you can spend some time out there. not to mention I think you may want to have words with your youngest assistant."
pointing at the monitors that kept tabs on echoes...something they added after the first ones got sick to be able to keep animals isolated and monitored if need be.
"I really think she forgets those are there and that we can watch her when she pulls stunts like that."

"You're still pretty impressive." Lillia laughed and shook her head. "I wouldn't even know how to begin going about teaching him how to do that. He learned it all on his own and did it once when I was looking. My reaction must have delighted him because it's become his new attention grabbing trick." Watching as the peryton tossed his head and performed again. "He's always been a bit of an attention craver and I think it's his way of satisfying a need. If he can keep your attention on him, it makes him happy and thus the need is satisfied."

He was promptly given a salute. "Yes Sir." She was not going to get her way but that seemed common right now as people tried to distract her from her own things she'd rather not think about anyway. "Come on." Getting herself up with a passing look to monitors. "I would hope that my pet tendencies didn't rub off on her but I suppose that's hard." Walking into the back labs and of course being greeted by a very loose Fenrir whom was pet. "I'm a bad role model."
"All on his own hm?" Moving closer to the creature and giving it a look over from where he stood. It wasn't impossible to think they could pick up such things on their own, it was just unusual. "Well he is a herd animal...maybe he's picked you as part of his herd. To keep you coming back, he shows off."

"Or it could be that the last time she got caught giving him treats and had to stop for a week made him learn this 'trick' to earn favor to get his treats back."
Crossing his arms lightly and glancing at the three of them.
"But I'll let Jelena take that up with you...Eric...we got some work to do. We've just started the incubation for a male Cerebus, so We'll need to make the proper adjustments to the Cerebus enclosure for the addition of a pup. How is she faring, by the way?"

"I was shocked too. I looked back through his DNA to see if he had a gene that had been manipulated but I wasn't able to find anything that might suggest an anomaly. It's worth looking into though. Perhaps it's part of his personality." Letting her finger hover around her lips for a moment as she thought.
Her gaze swung to James as he appeared and she frowned, "Treats are a required part of their diet, silly. I've never been reprimanded for giving them to him. I was reprimanded the one time I forgot since they hold supplements and such that the Echoes need." But then the smile came back. "Oh goodie! A new puppy and his home is all ready for him. Eric's been spending all day on it, haven't you EricBear?"

"That's only because she was giving him too many. Though animals with little to no 'pet' interaction usually don't learn a begging behavior at all."
"She's doing fine. Moved well and is still a tad groggy but I think it will do well for her. And since you're doing a new one...I don't think much would be needed in her current enclosure to add in a puppy. Being female she may mother him even if she isn't his mother." Turning a look to Lillia with a raised eyebrow at the nickname. "And yes, I have. And I didn't get eaten."
Lightbulb look. "Or it is time for an experiement that we haven't tried yet. Based on simple earth things yes but still. We make her think the pup is actually hers. Women do it all the time with drugs, it would be no hardship to push that a step further in a way."
"What happened to broken biological clock?"
"Mine is smashed to smitherines. Doesn't mean I can't mess with other people." A dismissive wave of a hand to him though. "Either way, I always make things work." She turned her attention back to the animal they were puzzling over though. "You seem to need testing then too. Isn't that fun."
