Can someone show me where I can find pics of eggs vs alternates? One of my blacks had an alternate, and I gave it away, not knowing. Now, I want to breed again, but I don't want to give the wrong egg away, if I get one. I didn't see a difference, but I didn't know what to look like.

pd2care Can someone show me where I can find pics of eggs vs alternates? One of my blacks had an alternate, and I gave it away, not knowing. Now, I want to breed again, but I don't want to give the wrong egg away, if I get one. I didn't see a difference, but I didn't know what to look like. The differences can be very subtle, especially with the blacks. And since you and I have older comps, the resolution isn't all that great for us. Here's a couple of suggestions. First, I found this color chart on the Cave forum which may help you to compare the color differences. If you look at the blacks, the alt black's left upper half is darker. On the alt vine/green, the shadow on the right lower half is darker. Second, what I do when I suspect I've got an alternate (either black or vine/green) is to get a screen shot of it and put then enlarge it on my Paint program. Then I grab another egg or two and do the same thing to compare them. This has been the most reliable way I've found to determine the color difference. Hope those help! biggrin

That does help a LOT. Thank you muchly.
I got 2 more Fall eggs tonight. It's amazing how easy it is when there's only 150 of us fighting over them instead of 700. smile So now the total will be 4, but will give 2 away in my incubator thread as soon as we're both online at the same time during a slow time at Dragcave.

I didn't know Paint could do that. I'll make sure I keep track of this post too.

no problem I use it all the time if I want to change all of one color to another and it's not one shape for instance when I change the color of borders on my dragon incubater Congrats on the new eggs I tried breeding my first autumn but she wasn't interested in the partner I picked out taking infirmary out and I froze my gold hatchling because she's another female I want adult and hatchlings of all dragons
