"No, I don't need to torment Rennell unless he doesn't show up. Then I get to hunt him down. I'll stay here and help you get your work done."
moving around behind her and rubbing her shoulders lightly.
"I know it's a bad day for you but we'll get you through it and in one piece too. I made breakfast want me to go get it? should still be warm."
Jessica met them in the lab in her surgery outfit, with power tool on one hand.
"you know the drill, Rennell. but would you at least like to see what your getting before you complain about not fixing what isn't technically broke?"

"In general I think. Unless you care to fight against it, it's just easier to go with how things are and hope for the best. That and bring her mass offerings of donuts and coffee." He shook his head as she placed her affection and then skipped off happily. "That girl, I have never met a happier person. Well...maybe Rennell." Cerberus settled in her new place he went about doing his work with her before she woke up.
"What work I had done got ruined by stupid power outage." And that ticked her off to no end. It was a delicate process that took long enough to get one part done and even longer to get a whole sequence done. Even when she was working from a strand that was already put together in the case of the cerberus. "Sure...I didn't have anything yet today. Can you grab me a coffee too please?"
"Sure you can say that...you're not the one that bleeds everywhere and what not." Very sullen about this, as this was the only thing that ever killed his happy nature. Despite teh benefits it was still hard. "Should I even look...just tell me you're not going to turn me into more of a walkking pointy deathtrap than I already am." He'd let Lillia do the judging of such things as he took to stripping and moving to lay face down on the unforgiving cold metal table. "Turn off my sound sensors. I don't even want to see what you're doing in soundwaves in computer data retrospect. And get her a chair." Because someone was going to sit by his head and hold his hand damn it.

She already had one that a tech had brought in for her. She'd brought the latest sci-fi thriller on loan from earth while the procedure was going on. She knew how long these things could take. Settling into her chair, she reached up and ruffled Rennell's hair. "Just close your eyes and think of something pleasant and it will all be over soon. Are you being anesthetized?"

James gave a small grin and presses a kiss to teh top of her head.
"I know. I almost lost part of your breakfast too. but I'll be right back with food, and coffee and even a doughnut or two."
before heading out and going to her room, and getting the breakfast of eggs, pancakes and hashbrowns out of the oven, heating it up in the microwave, and on the way back getting her coffee and a little back of doughnuts...though both hands being full meant he nudged the door to the labs which his boot.
"I come bearing gifts."
"You know if your going to be such a whiner about it I'll keep your eye on just for principal."
Letting him go about getting ready for his work and getting Lillia a chair, moving it over the way she needed to be for the big winged baby.
"You're not going to be more bladed and dangerous. your going to be bladed and safer."
wheeling over the new MATU setup and uncovering it so lillia could see it while she started the process of heeling all the nanomachines in his blood that didn't need to be functioning and starting the shutdown of his MATU unit.

"Not usually..." Another pout and a look to Lillia. "You see how mean she is to me?" Trying to relax as much as possible though his nerves were getting the better of him. He had his right to worry. Frowning he closed his eyes as he felt her shutting things down and he tried to be as calm as possible. "We have standby blood right?" Questions you should ask beforehand. "And it's still yes,no, and pudding, right?" He was awake for a reason. It was eaiser to test that all things were hooked together and under his control. Yes for everything was alright, no for no they weren't, and pudding for panic.
She amused herself with spinning her chair in a circle. It kept her occupied and the world going by in semi-blur was a tad interesting as well. A slightly dizzy look was turned to him as he came back with food. "Bless you." Getting up she took some from him so he had at least one hand free and plopped back down in her chair. "Is you making me breakfast going to become a regular thing?"

There went her novel. She tucked it away and squeezed his hand then moved her fingers through his hair to calm him. "Then you'll just have to talk to me and focus on my pretty face and everything will be fine. We'll even go get you a drink when all this is over with, okay?"
Watching as Jesse pulled things out and began doing things that Lillia didn't understand. She'd never been fond of the mechanical things because they could malfunction and cause problems at any time. "Did you see the new movie Radiance brought up from Earth? Supposed to be a good one this time. Something about a dog and an alien and rival planets? Eric said he'd go with me but he lied. Then again, I was also supposed to finish another couple of pages of my dissertation and that didn't happen either. You think that's his way of punishing me?" Frowning at that. 'He's not my father. We're going to have to have a talk about that."

A small grin and shrugging.
"Unless you would like me not to, I suppose I will...and I think Eric must be doing a good job with Cerebus, as he hasn't screamed for help yet."
looking down at her and patting her head lightly.
"After breakfast it's back to work for us though."
"Alright, disconnecting your eye now. and yes, the same rules apply. yes, no, and pudding."
And starting to disconnect and remove his Matu unit a piece at a time, until it was a pair of stubs...and now came the hard part, opening up his back and working to disconnect it from his nervous system, while a few techs were working to try and keep the area as blood free as they could while Jessica was working.
