Jelena just laughed at him. "Yes yes James, I really gave up sex for my work. I think not, I mean I am human after all. Besides, I live in space and I'm not getting any younger now am I. I deserve a little adult fun every now and then.

"Oh yes, you're quite something to look at is the word. Those young Metamorphosis things like to chat about it all the time." She shrugged, tucking a piece of dirty blond hair behind her ear. "I've been told many times that I am intimidating, eccentric, overbearing, and also a mood killer. Though I can see where all the men I've encountered can pick that up." Another shrug. "Not to mention the well of dating opportunities holds little. Living in space does limit that a bit and well, you know how anyone on Earth looks at anyone who's lived in Fleet."

"Heaven's no. The moment I step on Earth unescorted by Fleet Security, I'm sure I would be grabbed and accused of bringing the Apocalypse in my wake or some wort of rubbish like that." Jelena lounged back in her chair, taking a moment to rub at the back of her neck. "And it's not Erik either. He's more of a brother than me and I highly believe that if there was anything between us it would quickly drown."

"I have my relationship flings every now and then. I mean I'm not one for horribly casual sex but I'm not Miss Pristine either." Then she laughed and shrugged. "And you're a man, you know how you all are. A woman shows some form of superiority, be it brains or something else, and some men just can't handle that. No offense to you of course James."

"Of course you would be all over the homepage. That's what you get for being so military whipped over half the time. Besides, you're not that stone cold James, you're rather personable to be around when you loosen up a big or when someone can strike your interest on something. Like now for instance."

She smiled. "And here's the secret to my flings not being horribly exploited. I never date on my own ship. I consider men who have living quarters on the Envision off limits." Then a smirk. "Don't make me put good old classic duct tape on my cameras James."

Jelena had to laugh at that. "Yes you're quite eligible still. All human or partly bioware, I'm an open minded person you know that. Though I doubt if I wanted a shot at you I'd have to wade waist deep through fawning Innovation techs. And Jelena Trevale doesn't fawn over a man."

But as he turned serious on the subject of Roselyn, so did she. "I know what you mean. I do the best that I can to make her comfortable since she was assigned to Echo. I mean recently she even asked me to make her a little companion, and I agreed. Got it brewing as we speak. But you have to think about what they did to her down on Earth. I'd be worried if she wasn't reluctant really." She tapped the table with a nail. "I think she does care, she just has trouble asking for the help she needs because of that psychopath that engineered her. The only on she seems to even consider listening to is Rennell. His demeanor can be a blessing in some cases."

"Yes, I remember those years. I was just getting up on my feet in Envision with my own project. That was before they shut down and retooled Metamorphosis. But Rennell means well, he's just forgetful. And you can't fault him for his fears either. I have to say I admire all those that were participants in Metamorphosis. It took some real courage, but also bred some fears. And some just don't get over those fears. Besides, Rennell and Rosey are still young, they'll settle out soon enough."

True, Jelena was only a year older than them both, but she had settled out as she called it rather fast. She was nowhere as carefree as she used to be. Being a Project leader did that to you, but she wouldn't change it if she had it all to do over again. She rolled her eyes slightly. "Alright I'll humor you." And she cleared her throat. "You are an attractive man, and you are a responsible man. You've proved time and again that you are a good provider as well as one who looks out for those that he cares for. You show promise in devotion to others as well as a sense of nurture and care. I mean James, it's easy to see why you're the talk of the young techs. You also have a nice a**."

"What, my degrees in science make me assess a man by the bare minimum of physical look and gear toward personality, but I always want my men to have a nice backside. I have my reasons." She rested her elbows on the table, leaning forward and resting her weight on them.

But Jelena shook her head. "Embarrassing questions James? You hardly got embarrassed last time that I checked. And I check quite often. But let me think." Which she took to pondering a little and settled on a rather juvenile question. "Okay, tell the truth, have you ever hacked into the security camera system to take a peek at me or for that matter any other women? Come now James, tell the truth."

She held up a hand as if in defense of herself. "I won't deny the accusation James. I mean especially if it was Fleet backsides and Fleet names." Jelena dropped the hand and laughed then, giving James a smile as well.

"Damn it, I knew that camera in my room had jut too much rotation and angling capabilities." Then another laugh. "An accident yet you lingered to watch the show. At least you kept my dignity intact and didn't download the imaging and do something horrid to my reputation with it."
