Willow twisted and brought the blade towards the second mans neck, she was beginning to remember why she didn't like swords, she had no idea how to use one.

Leina:
The man's sword arm comes off with a terrible crunch and squelch. He screams so shrilly, you can't help but worry that your eardrums might burst.
Layla:
The arrow connects. He hits the wall, but does not fall down the stairs.
Nyx:
You see several sashes and belts attached to other swords. They vary from enhanced silk (to double its effectiveness, while not forfeiting the comfort of the silk), to basic cloth, to simple leather belts. The fanciest variety is the silk.
Hiroto:
You manage to shatter his skull, killing him.
Willow:
It goes in deep enough to let him die slowly.
Willow & Layla:
You can hear them coming now.
"Muradin sohan!" someone yells.
Suddenly, a fireball flies from high on the stairs and shatters the wall above Willow. If Willow doesn't let go of the sword or if Layla can't hit them, anywhere from one to three bricks will come down on top of her. You can both tell that the enemy will stop at nothing to get at you.

Willow left the sword and ran from the rocks "any ideas Layla?" personally she had a plan, but it was risky.

With a rather practiced stance, I loose my arrow at warrior again, this time pointing the silver lance towards the warrior's gut. "Keep the escape route open?" I say back. I fall to a kneeling stance and draw back another arrow from Sylane's holy starlight. At this point, I was open to ideas, as long as I still had that window to jump through or some other route of retreat...

"Cover me" Wiilo ran and hid behind one of the statues, If she could just get close enough she could deal with them.

Layla:
Your arrow strikes him dead-center. You see Willow running down the stairs, toward the room of statues.
Willow:
You run down the stairs without being caught by anyone or anything. You hide behind the statue of Joandis, the Goddess of Chaos. You see the wemic from before standing idly in the room.
Claw:
You see the black-haired woman enter from the staircase and hide behind one of the statues.

I draw back another arrow. I believe I've seen this tactics before in other RPGs. Is she pulling them? Brilliant! With this, we can get a flanking attack! I train my arrow down the hallway, were the enemies will come from wen they hopefully make chase.

I walk over and start testing to see which belt or sash would be best. I look at the belts first. The leather one looks strong. I really won't need anything fancy like silk.

Layla:
The mages and the last axeman walks by the door. They pause.
"Get in there," the mage says to the axeman.
The mages continue on down the stairs, but the axeman tries to get in the room. He pokes his head in.
"Hey!" he says.
The mages look back at him. You can either shoot him now and risk the mages attacking you, or you can jump...
Willow:
The mages get close to the bottom of the stairs, but stop when the axeman calls out. You have a feeling that they found Layla.
Nyx:
The leather turns out to be the strongest, as you assumed. The silk is mostly for smaller weapons, such as a dagger.

"Alright..." I look back at Irene to see how she's doing before I look around for any black leather belts. Don't wanna be dressed in all black and have a brown belt, right?

I fire the shaft of sacred vengence at the axewman before trying to dive behind the nearest cover. I didnt want to leave Willow in here with the mages marching forth to cause our demise. She was my teammate, and fellow warriors never leave each other behind. I figured magic was a lenghty process, so as long as I can survive one onslaught... this might be doable...

Irene is sitting on the counter, having climbed up when you weren't looking. She is looking around the shop sadly. You find a black leather belt quickly.
Layla:
The arrow hits the axeman in the eye. He screams and pulls his head out of the door. As you dive for cover, a fireball blows the door to pieces.
Layla & Willow & Claw:
Screams are echoing throughout the building.
"You, take care of him!" a male voice calls. "You two, down there! You, with me!"
Layla:
Two of the mages enter the room.
"Come out, come out, wherever you," one of them says.
"Come play, kitten," the second says.
Willow & Claw:
Two mages come down the stairs and spot Claw.
"Muradin sohan!" they both call.
Two fireballs erupt from their staffs, aimed at Claw.
