Azrael leaned gently on the shoulder that Miluiel had offered him. "I don't mean to incriminate your people for the actions of these newcomers. But I am so tired of this routine... all of the tribe is." He told her softly. "If we are forced to run again though... do you think that your father would let the tribe take shelter in his lands?" He asked. An action like that might lead major repercussions, but if he could get safe haven anywhere he would take it for his tribe. For the sake of all who trusted him to lead.

Veral smiled. "Alright. Now that we are in a frame of mind to appropriately create the barrier, lets complete it by drawing our power out to create. I'll demonstrate for you." Veral held out his hand and with a bright flash created, instead of a curved roughly shaped barrier, a solid wall of power that one could vaguely make out the person on the other side of it. "Now lets all try it.

Miluiel nodded, "I am certain that he would allow it, after all you are part of our people now, the tribe is. They are a part of us. Dearest, do not fret, we always have a place with them." Miluiel assured her husband, "But I do not know if they are a part of this conflict or not." She said sadly.

Shera breathed deeply in and out. She followed the motions that Veral had lay out and pushed out her energies there was a dim flash before her. She looked at it, seeing it's slightly choppy edges. She sighed, but felt a sense of joy, she had put one up after all.

"I doubt that he would knowingly or willingly get involved in something like this. He has more than the capacity to fight, but I can't see him as a violent expansionist. And even if he was, he would not need to fight over this land." Azrael said, a bit less depressed. There was someone on his side at least. "But these humans, I can never understand. There are many good people among their species, but far too many believe in war for me to find them worthy of trust as a whole." He said to his wife.

"Wow Shera! That's really good!" Shinn said, before going into the motions and pulling out his own energies. The barrier that flashed before him was surprisingly bright, but its edges were not very well defined at all, and the hard to discern corners seemed to waver a bit before getting into a more stable position.

Alunn looked at the two little ones, not quite sure how to do this. He tried to summon up his magic and got nothing. He thought for a moment and started to sing softly, a barrier appearing before him.

Miluiel felt hurt. "Do you mean that you think he wouldn't help us in our time of need?" she asked softly. "Azrael, he is my father." Miluiel nodded in agreement. "Their kind has cursed many." She said regretfully. "It really is a sad thing, especially when one kind has such a large population and so much power." She sighed. "But what are we to do?"

Smiling Shera looked to her brother, thanking him. She waited for him to try now. "You can do it Shinn!" She cheered. "That's really good!" She said to him as she walked and sat beside him. "Isn't that right Uncle Veral?" The curious pup also looked up at the stranger who had joined in the lesson. She blinked, quite impressed by his magical talents. "Wow!" She exclaimed. "That was really amazing!"

"I don't know for sure. We may have to relocate to your father's lands, if these outsiders persist." Azrael said with a heavy sigh. "But I will call a tribal meeting tonight so that I can hear what everyone has to say on it." He told his wife looking at her for support.

"It was only okay." Shinn said, feeling that his barrier was not as good as Shera's was. "I can't do it very well."

Veral smiled kindly. "Everyone draws on their power in different ways, Shinn. Perhaps you should try creating the barrier in a different way." He suggested, knowing about Shinn's connection with spirits.

Miluiel nodded, "You know me Azrael, you know that I will stand with you though any decision that you make, you are my lord, my leader, I will not leave your side." Miluiel said bowing her head respectfully. "What even happens we'll do it together and we'll make it though." Miluiel tried to promise.

Shera looked up at her Uncle-to-be and smiled, a wide smile from one ear to another. "Try again Shinn! I know you can do it!"

"Uh... Okay." Shinn said. He shut his eyes and took Veral's suggestion in thoughtfully and began to whisper very very quietly to something. He then held his arms up and projected another barrier, this one was brighter and had very clear edges. His eyes remained shut, in the case that it had come out as sub-par as his first.

Azrael smiled and settled down a bit. "Thank you, my love." He said before giving her a nuzzle. "Your words give me great comfort. But lets get going on our walk. It is time to see what is going on in the village."

Shera held her breath, and even once her brother completed the shield she kept quiet. She didn't want to disturb her brother and mess up his concentration. She just watched him with wonder.

Ayaka jumped to her feet and nodded. "Alright Azrael." She said smiling at him. "I am happy that you're feeling better." The female werewolf meant it too. She was happy that her husband was feeling better. "Let's hope that everything is going well.

Shinn dared a glance at his barrier, and saw the bright shimmering wall of energy. "I-I did it!" He said in very pleased surprise. Looking at his sister and Veral before letting the shield dissipate.

Grinning broadly, Veral patted him on the back. "Very good, Shinn! That one was great!" He told his pupil with a smile. "You both did excellent. You have amazing potential in you." He told Shinn and Shera honestly.

Azrael smiled and stood before he started to stroll toward the village, sniffing occasionally, in case an unfamiliar scent presented itself.

"You did it Shinn! You did it!" Shera exclaimed jumping all around like a pogo stick. Looking up to her Uncle to be Shera giggled. "Thank you Uncle Veral!" She barked with much excitement.

Miluiel followed along after him thankful he was with her. She was thankful that they could spend this time together, and ever though the fear and worry she felt for her home she was able to relax in his presence. He calmed her and made her feel better. She enjoyed her time with him, even when they were silent. Just the two of them being together was enough to satisfy her needs. She watched him move slowly along and she tried to memorize the movements he made. She hoped that ever after memorizing this she would never have any need for it because then they would always be together.

Veral chuckled and patted Shera on the head. "Let's take a break for now. I think that your auntie Mazzia is almost back with lunch." He told the two little cubs, smiling broadly at them.

Slowing for only a moment, to give Miluiel a nuzzle, Azrael kept moving until they had reached the village where there seemed to be a small crowd of werewolves, most of them wearing the shoulder bands the were indicative of the tribe's warriors and scouts, or the braided and beaded locks of long fur that identified those who managed the Spirit Lounge; healers and those females training themselves to maybe, one day, take the mantle of shamaness, males rarely had the aptitude for communicating with spirits that was required of the title of shaman. Azrael sighed. "Ah, well... let us see what is going on." He said, part of him hoping that someone had discovered the unfortunate turn of events, and make it easier to discuss with them. As he led them closer he began to see clearly what the small crowd was for, and saw a tall, then elf, wearing leather armor and a traveling cloak embroidered with symbols hearkening from Miluiel's village. The way the man was looking around, he seemed to be anxiously asking the various villagers where "Lord Azrael," which had likely snowballed into stern lectures from the pack members on how to properly address the Tribe's Chief, where the man should have looked first, and other suggestions and questions. I'd better save the man before he ends up in a cook-pot. Poor elf must have pressed a healer unintentionally. He thought to himself. "What is going on here?" He asked in a mild tone, but with enough interest to keep the crowd on the tips of their claws.

"Alpha!" Said a younger voice, belonging a scout who had only become an adult four seasons previous. "This person has been asking for you." The young werewolf had a sheepish tone to his voice that all but confirmed that he was hiding the finer details.

Managing to regain his posture, the elf bowed and stammered" L-lor... Sir.... uh... Alpha." The use of the word was clearly foreign to the poor man, and Azrael sympathized with the poor fellow. "I am Lauvel, I come with a message from King Talithan." He explained in a voice with a light airy accent, that gave away that he was just a bit younger than Miluiel in elf-years.

Azrael nodded to the man. "Welcome to the village of the Garoh Tribe, Lauvel. I hope that your journey was not too difficult." He said in a pleasant tone, after changing into his human form, wearing a robe made from the hides of both exotic and local creatures that gave him a regal gait. "Please join us in the Long House, and you give us the message." He gestured to the long building where the village held it's celebrations. The group that had been around Lauvel, had dissipated quite quickly, and only the foot prints and swishes of tails in the few remaining piles of snow gave away that they had been there.

Shera's eyes gleamed with joy and salivs dripped from her open mouth as her long pink tongue hung out the side of her mouth. Squealing softly she wiped it away and asked for forgiveness. She was hungry again, she had forgotten about food during their lesson. "I think I'm ready for lunch!" She barked.

Miluiel smiled as Azrael approached her. It made her heart flutter. She quickly followed him back to the town and noticed where his attention had gone.

Spotting the elf she felt a wave of panic wash over her. She wanted to change back into a human to greet the elf from her tribe. She had to fight back the urge to demand the information from her father right there before all the tribe. A chilled panic surged though her. Was her homeland okay? Miluiel morphed quickly and stood right behind Azrael, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. She glanced down to check her own clothes, a hide dress that she had made, and back at the messenger.

"Ah... Thank you very much." Lauvel said. He was visibly more comfortable when he spotted Miluiel, even though she had just been a wolf a few moments earlier. He followed Azrael into the Long House, and when he stepped inside unfastened his cloak and dropped the bow and the sword that he had stored under it. "I'll get right down to main reason I am here... Lord Talithan has received word that the armies of two warring factions are moving into this area." He explained. "He sent me out as soon as I could, I don't know whether I'm ahead or behind these armies, they are both moving from different direction, and from what I heard in one of the towns I passed through, they had played host to one of these armies."

Azrael gestured the man to sit by the large fire in the center of the Hall. It wasn't as large as it was during a celebration, but those with magic talents kept it going at all times, for those who might need to use it. "To our dismay, they had nearly met each other in battle earlier today. Only the interference of two travelers have they drawn back." He informed the messenger, a mix of emotions present.

"Forgive me, Lord Azrael... I did not mean to bear the news at such slow speed." Lauvel said after processing this news, trying to find some way to show his sympathy toward them.

Azrael held up a hand and shook his head. "It is not your fault, Sir Lauvel. The fact that I did not know of this until now is the fault of mine. You came at great speed to have gotten here when you did." Azrael looked at the man for a few moments and then said, "You must quite tired, can I offer you anything for your hunger or thirst?" He asked him.

"Lunch sounds great!" Shinn agreed with his little sister, his stomach growling with hunger.

Mazzia appeared soon afterward, carrying a large wooden slab covered with meat, all of it cooked, for the sake of the guests. "Here you go! There should be enough for everyone." She said, moving to Veral's side and nuzzling against him. "Dig in!"

Miluiel remained at her Husband's side while they received the message from Lauvel. She shivered and snuggled close to Azrael, also widely aware of his feelings. She rubbed his back affectionately in hopes of smoothing away his hurt, but the hurt was so real. She looked at her mate sadly and with concern. He was professional though, she knew his emotions would not show to those who didn't know him, not as they were shown to her anyway. "It is lunch time." She said softly. "Would you like to come and eat with us?"

Shera saw the meat and began to drool happily. She wanted to leap at it and eat it all, but her manners, she remembered matter. She stepped forward and took a couple pieces of the meat. "Thank you Auntie Mazzia." She said softly and went to find a spot where she could eat her meat before going back for seconds.
