Leith smiled and opened on of the double glass doors that lead into the main lobby. It wasn't a first class building, but it definately wasn't lower class either. It was clean and inviting, but not overly spacious, in the lobby. Leith walked up to one of the two elevators on the left and pressed the up button. It lit up and Leith relaxed back onto one foot as she waited. "My aunt will probably be pretty angry when she first opens the door and start to yell at me or something, but then she'll see you guys and get all surprized. If you let me do all of the talking I think I can get her to get excited about finding room for all of us dirty kids." She smiled and laughed as the elevator dinged and the doors slid open.

"Fine then." Said Jessie, holstering the pistol. "No weapons." She approached him with her hands up to prove she was clean. "I've seen you. A person sneaking down dark alleyways can obviously be up to no good. Have you recently killed someone?"

Lucien smiled. "Wow, nice way to greet someone."
He sighed leaning against the wall and checked his pocketwatch. "Surprisingly, I haven't killed anyone. I'm just an average good-for-nothing who lost his way home."
Tamara looked around the building. It was the first time she ever went anywhere inside a city building. She wasn't allowed to come with Lucien on errands.

Mike glowered at Warakai. 'What is it with these people? Can they all read minds?' He shot a worried look to Leith. 'If that's the case, I'm in trouble.' Mike glanced at Tamara, and listened to the space around him. No gunshots were heard, so maybe Lucien was alright.
Mike followed Leith and the others to a larger building, nestled in a street corner. He had seen this place many times before, and even spent the night in the lobby on occasion. He recognized the familiar furniture, but the staff always seemed to be changing. It was almost unsettling. They had reached a shiny elevator, and Mike stepped in, the floor bouncing under his footsteps. He leaned into the corner of the little box and rested his eyes a bit. Mike had no trouble with shutting up just this once. He was dead tired.

Warakai rested against the inside of the elevator the most high tech piece of equipment he had seen in some time just an indication of his hyper simple upbringing.

Leith pushed the button labeled "4" and it lit up like the call button had. The doors sluggishly closed and reflected a warped and faded image of the group at them. She leaned against the wall and watched as the numbers to the floors they past showed on a digital screen above the doors. Finally the elevator dinged at them again and the doors seperated slowly to reveal an empty halway with numerous doors. "Come on, this way." Leith said as she went to her right.

Tamara followed with a curious intent. To her she was in a new world, surprised there was a place like this in a darkened city.

Mike reluctantly cracked his eyes open and followed everyone out the elevator and into a hallway. He let all his weight hang off his feet as he tromped along the carpet, dragging his feet. He remembered, for a moment, how his parents would yell at him if they caught him dragging his feet, especially in a public place. He smiled. 'Good 'ol parents,' Mike thought. 'Good riddance.' His heart sank for a moment. He missed them still, for some odd reason.

Leith stopped at room number 1136 and knocked. She waited for a moment, knocked again, and then she heard her aunt mumble from behind the door somewhere. A few seconds later she heard the locks start to be undone frantically after her aunt had looked through the peep hole in the door. She swung the door open and said angrily, "Where have you been? You were supposed to be home hours ago!" Leith sighed and said, "Aunt Judy, these are my new friends...We have a lot in common..." Her aunt at first looked angry that Leith was changing the subject, but then when she actually took a second to look over the bunch of kids she realized that Leith's words meant more than she thought. Her eyebrows raised and she tightened her robe around her more, "Oh, well, come inside." Leith smiled back at the gang in a way that said, "I told you so." and she lead them inside. The apartment wasn't huge, but it wasn't tiny. They walked into a fair sized living room that had a couch, a recliner, and another chair that had a matching ottoman. There was an open kitchen and small dining area directly past the living room, brightly painted and inviting. To the right, behind the couch, was a hallway that more than likely led to the two bedrooms and the full bath. It was a pleasant home and was clean. Leith walked to the dining area, got one of the chairs from the table, put it down infront of the televison, and sat on it, leaning against the back with her chest. "I'll explain everything once everyone has a seat."

"Kind of an odd place to look for your home," replied Jessie. "I'm sure even a good for nothing like yourself has enough common sense to realize you don't live here in this alley, or have the Empire's denizens really become that stupid?"

Lucien grinned. "I'm sure I'm not the only one who decided to search for an alley way shortcut back home."
Tamara looked around the entire room with intense curiosity. She wasn't allowed to enter any kind of building without Lucien. After fulfilling her desire she sat down by the couch

Warakai Found a comfortable piece of floor and sat down out of the way, though it was only a few seconds before he was laying down. He instinctively looked straight up but was disappointed when in the place of the stars he was accustomed to seeing he just saw a plain white ceiling.
Demi stood outside the apartment building, a little curious about these strangers who had showed up out of nowhere, but her curiosity ebbed quickly, she had something important to take care of she had the last of her cash in her pocket and was ready to pay her way off this hellish continent and into freedom somewhere far away.

"Hi aun' Jhoody," Mike mumbled. He couldnt seem to get the muscles in his face to move, but he did try to smile. Shuffling past everyone, Mike dove for the couch, one of his legs dangling off it. He made sure his sore arm was in a comfortable place as well. And as bad as he wanted to sleep, he felt he should sit up and be more respectful and listen to Leith and as to what her Aunt had to say. Groggily, he slowly sat up straight, but rested his head back against the couch. He hoped this wouldn't take long, but he was just being selfish.
