What's crackin?
I'm Omo, and I just started Capoeira like two weeks ago. I've got no apelido, I've got no cordas, I've never been to a batizado, and I know nothing. Impressive, no? (NO.)
I'm 17, I live in California, and I hope to learn lots.

Hello hello XD!, names Hsienjo here, but in Real Life its Jamel Fleming. I go by so many nick names...........its not even funny........especially after I decided to get a perm rofl . Well anyhoo, Axe over heres a buddy of mine, and I was around and about his original Capoeira thread. I learned valuable history, culture, facts, and training tips for the ppl there it was cool. Capoeira has been a style that Ive admired ever since I learned of it and saw it on this movie called Only the Strong. Um unfortunately I have no Capoeira school where I am, which is DAytona Beach Florida where I go to school, but once I get my lazy a** a liscence, IMA GO TO ONE IN OOOORRRLAND! HORRAHS! Lets see, im a like 19 years old, pretty tall big guy, but ive been in Martial Arts ever since I was a kind, only Tung So Do, and Tae Kwon Do though. Im really limber and good with my legs, which is another reason why I wanna try this style. Not to mention, I LUV MUSIC!, and I LUV DANCING!.......and I already love Martial Arts so hay, triple wammy, once I start it I have a feelin itll be just as addictin as DDR is to me (combination of dancing, music, and videogames........another triple wammy XD!)
Right now im just free lancing with stuff, ever since this summer I was practicing my handstands, I did so during this school year, until midterms came around and work started piling up but im going to pick that back up this weekend hopefully, cause I was startin to get some hang time! WEll hopefully when I get that car I can get taught the real macaw.
Um fav color blue, um love doggies, uhhh videogames and anime that goes without saying.........any other stuff you can check muh profile for. Um comp science major Sophmore at Bethune Cookman College. Lets see, by day im just a normally different than everybody kinda guy......at this school any how........by night.....(more like anytime theres anime or videogames around), my big a** is a total otaku, no holds bar dude, cosplay, anime/videogame association with everything, I even turned my older sister into an otaku............and after one convention cosplaying with me too XD mrgreen xd im sooooo good.
Well........guess I said a mouth full sweatdrop I do that sometimes.
Well off to finish some assignments, I should be around since this is a happen place to be. Ta ta for now.

Nick names off the last name: (at my high school we went by last names because of our monogram shirts): Big Flem (I started hatin that sweatdrop ), Flem Flem, Flem Flam, Flem Flammer, Flemmingo, I think thats it
Since college Baloo (as from tail spin/jungle book.....dont know why, guy Im a bear type a guy), and Teddy gram (Some female classmates of mine swear they saw teddy gram crums coming out of my back pocket in class.........even though ive never bought those things in my life.......but thats where I got that name)
After the perm.....ouh Jebus: Slick Back, Slick Rick, Rico Suave, Al Sharpton, Bill D. Willams, Eddy Kane?, Big Perm, and I think thats it.
Well, just felt like fillin up this thread a bit, it might have amused some and distrubed others, but either way, hope ya enjoyed it. rofl

Well, hello all. My name is Marina and I'm 20 (soon to be 21) I have never been able to study capoeira because i am from a small town and not many martial arts are here. I do, however study traditional shotokan karate under Master Hidetaka Nishiyama. I have been studying for going on 6 years now and i am a second degree brown belt (2nd kyu) and will be tested for my third degree (1st kyu) in two weeks. my next belt after that will be black (someday) lol . I have also been introduced to five animal gung fu and have had (little) training in basic weapons. I also have a (basic) understanding of Aikido and Jiujitsu. the only one i have ever trained formally though is karate. i have competed nationally and riegonally. my sensei, sensei Michelle, has studied 20 years and competes riegonally, nationally, and internationally. she has been selected twice for the world cup. a prestigious event where Master Nishiyma selects 8 men and women from around the world who he feels best represnt traditional karate to compete for the cup. she was the only canadian selected this year and came in 5th of 8. i love martial arts and though i don't know much about many besides karate, i am fully wiling to learn. i love capoeira for the great depth of history and deliverance and would love to learn more about it. thank you to axe for giving me the oppertunity.

Hi, I am Berserker_Girl. I am 18 years old and live in Texas, and my first Capoeira class is on Tuesday.
I was originally inspired to learn it after watching the anime Samurai Champloo, and reading about the inspirations behind it (mostly Mugen's fighting style). After watching a few real videos of people playing, I was hooked and had to find a class. I was directed by a few of my friends to a teacher at my high school who is a member of a local group, and he set me up with the instructors. And here I am, waiting -impatiently- for next Tues.

My name is chuck and I just finished my second class tonight. I'll only be taking one class every other week but I hope to keep getting better. I live around the buffalo area and I train at Mandinga Buffalo. PLUG Buffalo Mandiga They are a part of a nation wide chain of schools from california to new york. Ours is obviously just a small one but I love going I wish I could afford the time and money to go more. The man who started it all though Mestre Marcelo who did the motion capture for Tekken 3's Eddy Gordo. He'll be in town in july for our batizado.

I've got to make this quick. I started Capoeira in October 2005. My first Batizado is this September. I practice with the Hayward chapter of the Omulu group in California.
