Cai still smiled, imagining her father and Ning sitting together while drinking, or chugging, wine. Her expression turned more serious when he mentioned the soldiers, making her look back at them for a moment before returning her eyes to Gan Ning. "There is a battle going on at Xia Pi. That's where my uncle, Guan Yu, is currently at. Uncle Bei, my father, Sun Qian and Jian Yong are all together because of the attack that's currently going on in Xia Pi. These people that are attacking us are very strange, though. They're definately not normal opponents. That's another reason why're they're all on edge. There have also been reports of a strange weapon being used that we've never seen before."

What she wouldn't give to be helping her Uncle.... Xing Cai knew that he was the God of War, but was that going to stop her from worrying? No, it definately wouldn't. Everything came to an end.

The door to the war room opened up and out stepped a rather angry looking Zhang Fei, "NO NO NO! I will not allow my little girl to go to Xia Pi alone! She needs her daddy to help her out!" He yelled loud enough for everyone in the castle to hear.

Liu Bei ran out after him. "Please, She won't be going alone, we'll send plenty of men and capable officers to help her out. I need you here to help me defend this castle should Xia Pi fall, Zhang Fei. We need to keep a solid defense if we are to continue to fight for virtue."

Zhang Fei stood there with a disgruntled look on his face. "Fine!" He pouted in his gruff voice. "But as soon as I hear that they are having trouble then I will go out there and rip 'em all to shreds!" He paused for a moment and looked over to see Xing Cai standing there looking at him. He smiled and started to walk over to her then suddenly he noticed Gan Ning standing there right behind her. "Ning? Gan Ning? What are you doing here?" He ran up and slapped the former pirate on the shoulder.

((...Alright... I'll give my work at playing Liu Bei. Don't hate me if I absolutely suck. x_X; I've got another post coming up, so I'll take care of Liu Bei as long as I'm needed to.))

Fei turned from Ning to Cai and gave her a big BIG hug. "I don't want you to get hurt out there! Just remember what Uncle Yu, Zhao Yun, and I have taught you and give 'em hell!" Fei held the hug for some time, not wanting to let go of his baby girl. He knew that she was strong, hell, she IS his daughter, after all. The thought of losing her was his one greatest fear. Nothing worried him more than that.

Fei let go of Cai and smiled, "Of course you can join us!" He said before letting Liu Bei say anything. "And your first assignment is to accompany my daughter to Xia Pi! When you get back we'll catch up over drinks!" His tone was serious. He really wanted someone as experienced as Ning to go with Cai and this opportunity was perfect for that.

Liu Bei opened his mouth to answer, though Fei quickly answered the pirate for him. Once his brother was finished Bei nodded, then spoke himself. "If you know my brothers, then you are more than welcome here." Besides, Fei had already said that Gan Ning was welcome here, so Liu Bei trusted his judgement. Though Zhang Fei could leap into things too quickly. Well.... Bei now directed his attention to Cai, who was rubbing her arms from the tight, almost suffocating hug she'd just received. Gan Ning go with his niece? Even though the pair didn't seem like one that would go together, it would be good for someone that Bei knew his brother trusted to go along with her. And it could also prove as a test for Bei himself to know how good this warrior was. He had heard his brothers talk about him before, or at least the name rang a bell. Perhaps he'd just heard the name from his cousin, since as he'd just said he'd come from Liu Biao.

"Yes, if you wouldn't mind...." Bei nodded as he made a small gesture towards Cai, who was reaching back and pulling the shield that rested on her back off. The thought that Gan Ning might be weary crossed his mind, but hearing Ning's responce it quickly pushed that thought away. "Please be sure to keep my niece Xing Cai safe while on the battle field. My brother trusts you, so I will as well."

"I'll be careful, I promise." Cai stated firmly with a determined look on her face.

"I know you will." Her uncle replied with a soft sigh with a smile on his face. He just hoped that Yu was holding up.
