[ Solo ] - Class Affinity - Treasure Hunter - 945
Omria was spending time with her family, which was no surprise to the brothers who were around. With their parents off at work, it meant they were responsible for food for the day. Usually when the kids had meals together, it was a bit of a party with everyone laughing and sharing their food. The atmosphere was full of laughter, something that if someone were looking from the outside they might be jealous. It looked like a single family, a cohesive unit, and it was absolutely what Omria adored.
"Alright then." Roisin, the eldest, spoke up as he pushed away from the table, "Time to get back to work."
He looked meaningfully toward Crimin, the second eldest brother, who quickly wiped away at his face and pushed to stand. Both were dressed in their uniforms, Roisin with the official military fatigues whereas Crimin had the colors of a trainee. It was rare they got a chance to step away, so when the parents were away often they attempted to spend time during lunch with the younger siblings.
"Must you leave already?" Omria pleased with her patented baby sister eyes, but Roisin just glanced over her before ensuring his outfit was tidy. Crimin on the other hand moved to pat her head, then ruffle it until she cursed at him and flicked his hands away, laughing as he joined his older brother's side. The two said their farewells before leaving to get back to work, on time as always.
"And then there were four." Tomin broke the silence as he reached for more food. The youngest of the boys, he seemed to be the least worried about the pressures of his family, and it showed with his lax demeaner and desire to be an adventurer. It was abnormal in the military and merchant family, but he was lucky that he had four older brothers to shoulder the burden, as Alopho loved to remind him.
Alopho was the merchant brother, third eldest and responsible with numbers and planning. Whereas his elder brothers were keen with war, he knew his place would best make sense supporting his grandfather. While he often still lingered with the kids, being of age meant he more often than not was at work. Omria was least close with him, struggling to find anything in common outside of a passion of shiny pretty things.
Alopho's twin, Gazar, was more keen to focus on the goods of books, and was well on his way to becoming a scholar. Omria loved spending time with him talking about his studies, especially the rare books he ended up getting from selective business deals. Occasionally, he'd purchase something for her, and she loved him all the more for that.
As the four youngest wrapped up their meals, it was time for them to talk about anything and everything. Alopho didn't really connect with these conversations, and Omria had a small suspicion that he was doing math in his head and using them as background noise. But she never asked, because that might mean he would do it out loud and that would cause her to space out.
So they just let him be, and the three youngest did what they normally did - they bonded over adventure and mystery.
"The other day I spoke with a vendor who was searching for some ancient tombs in Yael." Gazar began as he sipped at his tea. The refreshing drink was made with a cool white mix, so even on hot days the Obans enjoyed the treat, "He claimed that these ruins were there before the prisoners were banished generations ago. From the olden races."
Omria glanced toward Tomin with a grin, her eyes wide as she nudged him, "You hear that, from the before before times." She said with a whisper, giggling as her older brother gasped dramatically. But she knew he was just as excited as she, the thrill of adventure and new discovery something they both were more than passionate about.
"So are you going to commission for someone to go look?" She asked Gazar, turning back around, and Alopho scoffed at the thought. Commissions were expensive, and unless you had the right adventurer they just weren't worth the investment. She narrowed her eyes at her brother and shushed him.
"You can hire me, Gaz." Tomin said casually as he leaned back in his chair. At this, all three siblings scoffed, "What? You know I'd give you a family discount."
The cheeky smile Tomin gave made his teeth shine against his dark skin, and Omria decided to join, "Oh yeah, We'll make sure to do a great job and keep the money in the family!" She giggled at that, but the others just glanced at her for a moment.
"You want to be an adventurer too?" Alopho asked with a head tilt, "Mother wont be too pleased with that."
Omria didn't care what her mother thought. She was raised to do what she wanted, and even if it meant not marrying for the family, she'd be happy. And help her family.
"Well, I was thinking a treasure hunter. Find all the treasure so our family can sell it. Seems like a win win and I'm still keeping the family business strong."
Alopho and Gazar looked at each other uncertainly, but Tomin just moved closer and gave Omria a half hug.
"I wouldn't mind joining you. Discovering new lands, finding unique treasure. I think we'd be a force to reckon with."
Omria grinned and hugged him back, happy that one person was willing to believe in her. She'd just have to get the rest of her family on the same page.

[ Omria reveals her desire to become a treasure hunter to her parents, and must face the fallout - good or bad ]
Omria was nervous. She was approaching her parents today to talk about her future, and where she would belong in the family. Her mother had been talking about prospective partners in well to do families. It was a bit exhausting, and emotionally Omria wasn't really there. She knew her mother would always ensure she married for love, but was very pushy about where she found that love. Bless her and her father.
And so, she had avoided talking about her future, and just smiled and nodded to do best by her parents. She wasn't planning on leaving, per say, so it wasn't unreasonable to consider her future as a bride. But she'd also need to be accepted as a treasure hunter, as she was determined to do just that. Her partner would need to either be ok with it, or fully support it. She hoped that they would join her on such adventures, especially if they wanted to have a family.
Sitting down with her parents, she noted that her brothers were nowhere to be seen. They were smarter than she would have put it, if they knew to avoid this disaster.
"Omria, my star..." Her father spoke up, his gruff and serious nature softened as he looked at his only daughter, "You've grown to a wonderful woman right before my eyes."
She smiled at that, used to her father's compliments, and turned to her mother.
"I'm proud of you, little flame." She replied with a smile, before getting to the point, "It's time we showed off our pride and started getting you out there to meet some suitors."
Omria's smile faltered for a second before she glanced to her father, who nodded as well. Well, if they were going to get to the point she would as well.
"I want to marry for love, like you both did." She said sternly, "And I want to marry someone who will support the lifestyle I wish to live."
Her parents blinked a moment, before her father chuckled, "Darling, you know that you live lavishly, but not everyone can afford the lifestyle we live."
"That's not what I meant, father." She said with determination, "I've decided my path. You have Roi and Crim as soldiers. They are wonderful and will ensure our family is strong and our name is seen favorably. You have Alopho stepping up for the family business, and Gaz who is helping expand it. I want to expand it as well."
"That's wonderful, dear!" Her mother interrupted, smiling brightly, "Oh you will make a wonderful addition to our family name."
"Mama." Omria said with a sigh, "Mama I want to support the family my own way. I want to be a treasure hunter. To find treasures that we can sell to collectors. I want to travel with Tomin, I want to make a name for myself."
Both of her parents were quiet, her mother blinking and her father serious. They glanced to each other, and back to her, realizing how determined she was. Her father broke first.
"Darling...the world is a dangerous place-"
"One I am well aware of, and I will ensure I am making the safest decisions."
"...your husband may not support a wild lifestyle-"
"Then he is no husband to me. I refuse to not be supported in my passions. You have always supported me, the whole family. I expect no less from my future family. Mother. Father. This is what I want. I know I can make you proud. Please trust me in this..."
It took awhile longer for her parents to hesitantly see reason, and Omria had a feeling that they were banking on her getting bored of such a 'hobby', but she knew her heart. She'd make them proud, her way.
