Dorian couldn't help but smile at Clover's words. "yeah I guess. Though I really ought to introduce you to my distant cousin Roric. I keep saying that and have yet done it. He's not the standard Slytherin either. I often think the two of you are alike in some ways. Ah yes, she did teach me a few wandless spells." He admitted. "They're not as hard as people seem to believe. It just takes more focus than the others. "

"That is true. It is almost our fifth year. Wow. Was that a joke? I fell for you? I thought I fell on you." He teased back.

Dorian watched Clover as she moved to lean back on her arms. She made such a beautiful picture with the breeze ruffling through her hair. He started pulling food out as she spoke; small finger sandwiches, fruits, veggies, pumpkin juice, and brownies. "that is true," he said glancing up at her. "Ready to eat?" He asked

"Maybe it's just because you're tough, and you are so convicted of your beliefs. A lot of the slytherins I've known are like that." He admitted. "I could probably show you a few later if you'd like."

Dorian smiled at her words. "I guess I did. Though you didn't seem to mind." He said winking at her.

Dorian smiled at her. "Well, it's Raph my roommate that's the cook. Roric just likes to eat." He said with a laugh. "Raph is pretty good at cooking," He agreed and took a bite of his own sandwich.

"From what I understand you end up in your house because of what you value the most. So that does explain things a bit." Dorian said thoughtfully and munched on some of the food.

"You always have been protective of animals.." He said glancing at her. He couldn't help but chuckle recalling how some other girl had thought he was going to pull a prank on Clover. Though the girl had ended up causing him to fall because she had startled him. "Well, I certainly made an impression on you." He said with a laugh.

"It's okay, don't worry about it. There's enough for you to think about and try to remember for our OWLS, you don't have to remember who my friend or my cousin is. They should really have a cooking club, that would be good for people like Emma and Raph to have."

"Their food isn't all that bad, though you'll have to try some of Raph's food one of these days. He's going to be an amazing chef one day, I can tell." He added. "I imagine they wouldn't, especially if they don't know what kind of person you are."

Dorian couldn't help but smile over at Clover. "That they do."

He listened to her explaining how animals fought and lived. "Well, there are animals who start killing for the fun of it, though it is rare. I guess humans can just be a lot darker than animals. Which is pretty bad," He agreed.

"I'm just glad it wasn't too painful for you." He commented recalling just how hard he had hit her.

He raised an eyebrow thinking over how long they had known one another. "It has been awhile, well I have met your cousin, so it's fitting that I introduce you to more of my family. I have a few cousins that go here. If you want to though. Some of them are hard to get along with. Like my one cousin that llikes to play matchmaker to everyone." He said rolling his eyes. "She's kind of..way over the top sometimes." He admitted.

Dorian thought it over. "Maybe there just isn't enough interest," He added. "Seems like if there are enough people clubs get off to a better start."

Dorian grinned and shook his head. "Well while all of his food is good, you should really taste the other foods he creates. He likes to cook things from different cultures, I tell you it's amazing."

He finished off some more food and took a drink as she listened to Clover talk about Emma. "That would be cool. So she wants to have a bakery then?" He asked to clarify. "It's possible no one ever thought of it before," He said thinking about it.

Dorian finished eating and put the food back into the basket and then laid back on the blanket. "So..do you want to do some cloud watching or maybe some snogging?" He asked turning to look at her with a hopeful look on his face.

"Wait, there's really a basilisk lizard? I didn't know that." Dorian said looking a bit surprised. "You know a lot about more about animals than most people. I guess it makes sense, I mean you're really passionate about them. Do you think working with animals is something you'd like to do in the future?" He asked curiously.

"Yeah, Jocelynn is a year younger and is in your house too. I'm betting you've seen her around quite a bit." Dorian said with a slight smile.

"Sounds like Emma just likes to cook in general. I'm sure once she decides what she wants to focus on she'll figure out what type of place she'll want to have." He commented. "Sometimes it takes awhile for people to figure out what they want to do."

Dorian could tell that his question had startled her. He started to apologize when she stuck the other half of her apple slice in his mouth. He chewed it up as she replied in a teasing manner. He swallowed and grinned at her. "I was put in Slytherin for a reason," He replied with a wink. "Well then, come on down here," He told her patting the empty blanket next to him. "We can start with some cloud gazing then when we are both ready, we can have some fun snogging."

Dorian racked his brain to try and recall when she had mentioned the Basilisk Lizard before. His brain was so consumed with things from his studying that he just couldn't bring it up. "Sorry, I can't recall, all the studying seems to have taken up all my spare memory." He said shaking his head. "I can't wait until we get our vacation time."

He smiled at Clover's telling him what her plans for after Hogwarts. "Sounds like you'll be pretty busy studying animals, but I think it suits you. I'm still trying to figure out what to do after Hogwarts, probably go into a university for some sort of schooling. I'm not sure what though. I do still have time to figure it out."

He couldn't help but nod and chuckle at Clover's talking about his cousin. "True, at least she's better at it than some people. She does a lot of research to find out if the people would work together, well she's starting to. I guess there's some sort of science to it, from what I've heard her saying. I can't quite understand it myself."

Dorian smiled as he listened to Clover talk about how muggles could bring magic to food and music. "Yeah, even those without magic can be passionate enough to bring a magic to what they do. I guess I just have to find what I'm most passionate about." He said thoughtfully.

Dorian leaned his head next to hers and looked over at Clover as her attention was drawn to the clouds above them. Did she know just how beautiful she was? He couldn't help but wonder. Not just in the way that she looked, but in her character and the way she showed her passion, it was all beautiful to him. "Well it was imbued with magic which has lasted hundreds of years and it belonged to Godric Gryffindor, one of the greatest wizards of his time. I'd hope it never makes a mistake." He said his hand gently clasping the one she had laid over his.

"I think that one looks like the whomping willow," He said pointing out a cloud with his other hand.

"I was actually wondering if we could do something together this summer. I know we'd have to get permission from adults first. I have been wanting to see your grandparents farm. Are you going to be spending time there this summer?" he asked.

He glanced over at her long sigh.
" we do have awhile to wait for it, but the more prepared we are the better. "

Dorian got a thoughtful look on his face when Clover mentioned he was good at organizing." That is true, I do like getting things organized and planning out things. I will keep that in mind. " he said shooting her a smile.

Dorian made a face at the mention of love potions. "yeah, it is a good thing. The last thing we need is for a bunch of girls to start up with live potions again."

Dorian couldn't help but chuckle at her comparing their mountain of homework to a dragon. "It gets tougher the further we go. I actually have a few mystery stories I started writing, they got put on the back burner though. I really don't mind helping you. It helps me just as much. I find I know the material better after helping you." he admitted.

" the hat does almost have its own sentience. " he agreed, lacing his fingers into hers.

He couldn't help but laugh at her description of the cloud. "So it does. I forget the scientific name for it as well. "

After a little while longer of cloud watching, Dorian turned onto his side and leaned over to place a kiss on her lips.

Dorian considered her question and wondered if Clover had ever been any of the places he'd been able to go. Perhaps she might want to go somewhere exotic and exciting for a change.

"Well, I am pretty sure that there's at least one trip already being planned for the summer, though my father has said that I could bring a friend if I wanted. Maybe you could get permission to come with us. We could do an exchange of sorts, I could spend a month or more with you at the farm, and then maybe you can come see the family place in New Orleans and go on this trip with me and my father and sister. You are right it's early enough to ask and see what we can work out. All I know is that I want to spend as much time as I can with you. " he admitted.

Dorian was glad to hear that she had faith in him to find something to do. "Maybe, I will be one of those people that keeps reinventing themselves every few years and does all sorts of jobs. A regular nine to five job just does not appeal to me. Plus if I can make a difference in some way it will mean a whole lot more."

Dorian sighed at her pointing out that most of the girls that used potions were extremely shy. " I guess they will eventually learn to not be so shy but that will take time. You are unique in that aspect, it's one of my favorite things about you. "

Seeing her blushing cheeks as he leaned in to kiss her had Dorian feel pleased that he could get that type of reaction. He brushed a hand against the side of her face making a happy sound as she kissed him back. Kissing Clover was probably one of the most amazing things he'd ever done in his life.
