Barely a month after her father's reveal, while fighting in a tournament in the lower ring of Ba Sing Se, the young earth bender is approached with another offer to join the red lotus. He explained that they'd battled the organization for far to long without being able to pull up its roots, yet one who could fallow the stem to the roots could succeed where others failed. From an early age Azar showed promise as a fire bender, able to produce fire at the age of three. While she was younger Azar would actively argue about having them force her to be with nobles, finding more in common with the servants. However this was not confirmed until the day of his birth, the first night of the first full moon of the year. Holding a close relationship with his father till this day, and a loving one with his mother, Mikko's childhood in the Northern Water Tribe was quite nice. With two parents in high stations within the village, Mikko did not want for anything on any given day of his life. That is, except for bending. Mikko was quite young to have already mastered water bending to the extent he has. In practicing with his father, and on rare occasion even the master water bender in the village, it had become well known that Mikko was a sight to behold when in action. His ability to appear graceful while simultaneously conquering the erratic nature of freestyle bending with ease was something many admired.
Having mastered raw water bending, this is where we find Mikko. Fresh faced and ready to face the world, even Mikko does not yet know what his future holds having denied fully enlisting in the Naval Forces, deciding instead to remain on the village water bender active duty roster instead for village defense in dire times.
