                                                                SLOANE MADDEN
THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Juno's reaction was more than Sloane had expected. Blinking in surprise, Sloane watched as the girl turned many shades of pink and purple and scolded herself for... showing Sloane the sketchbook? Drawing the portraits? Sloane couldn't tell exactly what Juno was apologizing for, but, either way, she found the girl's embarrassment adorable. Endearing, even. She chuckled, not a mean-spirited chuckle, but a pleasant, warm chuckle that would hopefully calm Juno's nerves a little. "No, please, don't apologize." Leaving the sketchbook in her lap, Sloane reached over and gently pulled Juno's hands from her face, encouraging the artist to look at her. "I'm flattered that you would pick me as a subject. Honored."

After offering Juno a reassuring smile, Sloane let go of her and closed the sketchbook. "How about this. If it'll make you feel better, I'll draw a portrait of you. Even things out a little," she suggested. Sloane grinned. Not the sort of challenge she typically enjoyed, but she liked the idea of it nonetheless.

Juno didn't know what to think of Sloane's words, she was sure that under normal circumstance, the contents of her notebook would be enough to get her expelled, and even worse, she was pretty sure that there was a sexual harassment suit that could be pursued, and she would most definitely lose any court case brought against her, it wasn't like she had much to say in defense of her actions. She didn't get why she was more concerned about this than Sloane was, this definitely wasn't normal. Juno decided to stop questioning it, it wasn't like she wanted Sloane to be angry wit her, she should just count her blessings for now.

Even if part of these blessing would mean not ever being able to look Sloane in the eye again, not even as Sloane pulled her hands away from her face, an action that Juno offered very little resistance too, as she looked off to the side her hazel eyes aimed towards the ground. Sloane told her that she was flattered to be her subject, honored even, Juno blushed again, managing a small peek in the woman's direction, to see if she truly meant her words. Juno couldn't see any deceit hidden behind her expression, so slowly she began to relax again.

She managed to look in Sloane's direction for now, starring towards her chin, though her gaze landed directly on the woman's lips, locking onto the gentle smile Sloane gave her. Juno licked her lips and swallowed heavily, and forced her eyes upwards, finding that looking Sloane directly in her eyes would be the easiest thing to do, even after what had just happened.

Sloane seemed to be on damage control, for reasons Juno couldn't understand, truthfully it should be her trying to repair the situation, but... Juno felt a grin coming to her face, seemingly out of nowhere Sloane came up with the idea of drawing her, and Juno couldn't help but find some interest in the idea. "I suppose it couldn't hurt..."

THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Sloane grinned when Juno accepted her offer, then shifted her focus to the sketchbook. "Do you mind if I use this?" she asked Juno, but she didn't for an answer before flipping to a blank page in the back. Her eyes still studying the empty, white space, Sloane reached for Juno's pencil and tucked it behind her ear.

When she was ready, she turned in her chair to face Juno. She made some purposely over-the-top gestures with her hands first, aligning her fingers to create a box and putting Juno's face in the center of the hole. Lining up the shot. Once she was done making a fool of herself, she licked her lips and put the pencil to paper. Her best didn't approach even Juno's worst, but she was trying. Trying to get the lines right. To capture the softer, yet darker features of Juno's face, the freckles at the tops of her cheeks, the roundness of her nose, the curves of her jaw. As she studied the artist's face, Sloane couldn't help thinking that she was really quite beautiful.

"Tell me more about yourself," Sloane requested as she worked. "It'll help me capture your spirit on the page. Who you are."

"No, go ahead." Juno said quickly, moving her hands in the most encouraging gesture that she could manage, though Sloane was already flipping through the pages for a blank one, Juno smiled softly, placing her hands on her legs, and gently squeezed them. She liked how bold Sloane could be, it was on of her favorite traits.

Juno watched Sloane as the woman focused on her putting her body in frame, and Juno couldn't help but squirm a bit, placing a hand to her chest and blushing, she knew that she shouldn't move when modeling for someone but she couldn't really help it. After a moment, she moved her hand away from her chest, and tried to sit still, and process the follow up question that Sloane asked her. "Um..." Juno coughed nervously. "I don't....know what to say...or where to start.."

Sloane had anticipated such a response. She had asked a broad question, and Juno seemed shy, unsure of herself. Smiling, Sloane said, "Let me be more specific." She continued to draw as she spoke, although she was more focused on the conversation than she was on her picture. "How would you describe yourself, using only one word?"

"Plain" Juno said instantly without a moment of hesitation, it was almost as if Juno had thought about how she would answer this particular question hundreds of time before and had already came up with an answer, but that wasn't true entirely. She just knew how she felt about herself, and how she perceived the worlds opinion of herself as well. She thought herself to be plain, boring, of little to no consequence, and she was sure that everyone else felt similarly about her. Juno looked down slightly, feeling a little somber after saying something like that aloud. It was one thing to think it to oneself for years, but it was another thing to admit it.

Sloane was startled by the quickness of Juno's response, her hand stilling as she looked up at the girl. Plain. That was how Juno would describe herself. Sloane's eyes discretely studied the way Juno reacted to her own response, then fell once more to her work. She didn't openly agree or disagree, instead nodding and humming in acknowledgement of the given answer. "I see." Plain. Sloane was silent as she began penciling in the details of Juno's eyes. "Why?"

"Because it's true." Juno answered, feeling that it was the most obvious answer that could have been given. "It has been that way for my entire life." Juno added, managing a small smile. "I don't think it is a bad thing or anything like that" Juno lied. "I just know that I tend to fade to the back of people's minds, but its okay. I'm used to being in the back ground, it makes some things easier.

But it sure is lonely.

"Like what?" the hostess asked curiously, calmly. In her usual way, she didn't react to Juno's admissions with any particular emotion. She remained neutral, neither reassuring Juno nor picking at her insecurities. "What does being in the background make easier?"

"Drawing" Juno said easily. "It is a lot easier to do what I do when no one notices me, I can get more personal with my work, with models who aren't self conscious...as you can tell." Juno said the last part blushingly, seeing as Sloane. had already seen how much Juno could get away with when her subject was none the wiser.

"I've also heard how troublesome friends can be." Juno added "Two faced girls, who lie just to get close to you, only to turn their backs on you when being friends with you is no longer the fun thing to do." Juno said darkly, before managing to look sheepish. "Or...that is what I've heard at least."

                                                                SLOANE MADDEN
THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Sloane was getting the sense Juno hadn't just heard this--she had experienced it. The hostess found herself inwardly damning whoever had broken Juno's heart. "I've heard that, too," she said honestly, sighing and adding the finishing touches to her portrait. "And I can't say my own experiences with friends have done much to prove otherwise."

A few pencil strokes later, and Sloane was officially done. She tucked the graphite instrument behind her ear and looked at Juno. "Alright. Finished. But you have to promise not to laugh," she said, grinning. After giving the drawing one last glance, she finally turned the sketchbook so that Juno could see Sloane's work. It wasn't the worst drawing ever, and it was pretty apparent that Sloane had spent the most time and focus on the eyes, as they were the most detailed, accurate part. But there was definitely room for improvement.

Juno nodded at Sloane's admitting that she herself had experienced some of the things that Juno had just described, but the lanky brunette truly wasn't surprised. Sloane has status and fame associated with her very name around this school. There were undoubtedly hundred of girls who wanted to be friends with here just based off of that alone. These girls didn't want to get to know Sloane, get to understand the type of person she is, or the things that she enjoyed. They just didn't care about any of that. However it wasn't as though Juno could judge, she hadn't exactly been in a rush to learn more about Sloane while she was drawing her naked.

Juno blushed, the red in her cheeks deepening when Sloane announced that she was finished drawing. For all the portraits she had created over the years, she had never expected that she would find her own face drawn in her sketchbook, by the hands of another. "No promises." Juno squeezed out, before Sloane turned the image around to face her.

There a quiet moment, of Juno starring back at her own face. Her eyes scanning the lines her iris' flickering back and forth as if they were lasers beams absorbing data, she furrowed her brow, and placed a hand under her chin leaning back. "hm....oh" Suddenly she remembered the context of this drawing, and remembered that she was not at some art gallery observing the work of a professional. So she shaped her judgement a bit, and smiled. She had noticed that the dimensions around her eyes had been truly defined, the shading had been almost obsessed over by the lines. A part of her wanted to believe that this was because Sloane. really liked her eyes, but Juno was sure that it was only her ego talking.

"My face isn't that freckled" She critiqued with a small grin.

THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

                                                                "Hm... oh."

Well, that didn't sound good. Sloane watched Juno's face carefully, trying to read her expression. Then, finally, a smile, and a comment that was so surprising to Sloane that she burst into laughter. She looked at the sketch again and nodded as she counted the excessive number of freckles poked into pencil-Juno's nose and cheekbones. "Yeah, I guess I got a little overexcited," she joked with a grin. She ran a hand through her hair, causing most of it to fall haphazardly to the left. "But everything else is perfect, right?"

After retrieving the pencil from her ear, Sloane signed her name at the bottom right corner of the page. "I'll just... sign here. So you don't try to take credit for my work," she teased, shooting Juno one or two playfully suspicious looks over the sketchbook. When she was finished, she returned the book to its owner. "Well, anyway, it's yours to do with as you wish." She settled back into her chair and grabbed her drink to take a sip.

"I'll hang it above my bed, with the others" Juno whispered the last part almost demonically, just to leave Sloane guessing what the others could be in reference too. Were they more drawings of Juno herself? Or perhaps they were more drawings of someone else? Possibly drawings of Sloane, only without the girls face mentioned from the pictures. The best part about this is that Sloane would never know.
"You said you could barely draw stick figures. Was that just a ploy to lower my expectations so you could stun me with this image?" Juno asked sipping at her still hot coffee.
