 Selene Intarisha ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲ Selene frowned slightly and glanced up at Kristopher, then shook her head slightly. "N-no...." She didn't think he should be sorry. It wasn't like he had done anything bad.. That she knew of anyway. She might have said so, except right then he took interest in the dishes. She blinked, then kinda looked down. "Oh.. O-okay..." She made absolutely no move to stop him. She clasped her hands on her lap and just looked at them for a minute.. This was strange and rather awkward. Thinking over what had happened earlier, she smiled slightly, thinking that it was odd in a funny way, although she didn't laugh. Pretty soon though, her thoughts turned to the fact that she was letting someone she had just met that day do the dishes. After cooking. She cringed inwardly as she thought of what Mrs Peterson, the old woman that had taken her in before she came here, then sighed. She stood up before turning and quietly walking over to where Kristopher was washing the dishes, then whispered, "C-can I.. H-help..?" She fidgeted with her sleeves as she asked, glanced off to one side, then at the boy. Her expression was a mix of slight guilt and timid hopefulness. Yes, it was the guilt that made her ask. She just couldn't let him do the dishes without at least offering to help. ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲ ((XD So now they've both resolved to let their hair grow? Brilliant!))

The Orphaned WarriorKristopher turned around to see Selene standing behind him. When she asked if she could help, he smiled. "Well, I'm all done with the dishes now.... Do I need to do anything else..?" He looked down at the floor, then over to the clean dishes. "Well, if you could show me where the dishes go, and maybe put a few up, it'd be much appreciated." While putting the dishes up, he thought about how generous Selene was. He had never met anyone as kind and generous as her. Everyone treated him like trash, just a little runt abandoned in the streets. The only people kind enough to realize what he's been through was in those books... and it was like Selene just popped out of one. Before he could hold it back, a sob escaped his lips, and a single tear streamed down his cheek. Dammit, did she hear that? He wondered, looking away from her.

Selene Intarisha ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲ Selene blinked, then looked down slightly. "Oh.." She looked a little disappointed, but only shook her head slightly to answer his question. She didn't think there was much of anything else left to do.. She looked up at him as he mentioned putting away the dishes, then nodded with a small smile. "O-okay.." She picked up the silverware, then put it in a drawer under the counter o the right of the sink. "P-plates g-go t-there.." As she spoke, she gestured to a cabinet attached to the wall.. Also to the right of the sink. She moved out of the way to let him put the plates where they belonged, then looked around.. Only for her attention to return to him when he made a noise like.. A sob? She frowned, then stepped towards him, a concerned look on her face. "A-are y-you.. Ok?" Her voice was even lower than usual, like she wasn't entirely sure she should be asking.. He wasn't looking at her and she kinda worried that she might be being a bother with that question. ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲

The Orphaned WarriorKristopher frowned as he looked back over to Selene. He wasn't sure how to answer the question. He didn't want to feel weak... but then again, it wasn't like he meant to sob. "I... I just... you were the only person there for me... everyone else thought of me as trash... but you..." He suddenly hugged her tightly. Several more tears found their way down Kris's face. "I don't know if you understand... but it's painful. Thank you." He pulled away from Selene, rubbing his eyes.

Selene Intarisha ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲ Selene waited for Kristopher to answer her question. She kinda cringed when she saw him frowning. Had she upset him by asking? When he did speak, she looked up at him in surprise. She might have tried to talk, but she couldn't think of anything to say. She froze up when he hugged her, her whole body stiffening as her eyes grew wide. She was shocked.. He hugged her! She didn't know how to deal with hugs. Was she supposed to hug him back? Thankfully, he let go pretty quickly, but she continued staring at him with an expression that could only be described as stunned. After a few moments, she looked down and quietly murmured, "U-um.. Y-you're w-welcome?" She glanced up at him and offered a nervous smile.. Which vanished as she saw he seemed to be crying. All she could really do was stand there awkwardly though. She didn't know how to help people feel better when they were sad.. ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲

The Orphaned WarriorKristopher dried his eyes as he finished crying. Look at me, crying! In front of a girl, no less... He noticed that Selene was just standing there with a weird expression on her face... which made her feel worse. "Ah.... I'm sorry..." Struggling with trying to find something to say, he lightly grabbed her hand. "Hey... You feeling okay?"

Selene Intarisha ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲ Selene continued to watch as Kristopher cried, a sad and slightly lost expression on her face. She wanted to do something, but couldn't think of what. She didn't like seeing people cry. It made her sad too.. She looked down slightly and frowned, before looking at up again. She was startled to hear him apologizing and just shook her head. "D-don't be.." She made a little "eep" noise when he grabbed her hand, surprised by the sudden action. She blinked a few times, then nodded. She was confused about why he was asking if she was okay.. Hadn't be just been the one crying? It didn't make much sense to her, but maybe he was just trying to change the subject. She wasn't sure.. ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲

The Orphaned WarriorKristopher sighed as he walked over to the couch. He plopped down onto it, and took out a pair of big headphones. He then pulled out an Ipod, complete with many Japanese songs, including his personal favorite, Matryoshka. He turned on the music and slid it over one ear, so that he could hear if Selene was talking to him. Rare chance for that, though.

Selene Intarisha ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲ Selene blinked and watched in slight confusion as Kristopher walked to the couch. She tilted her head slightly to one side, kinda wondering if he suddenly didn't want to talk to her. Well, it wasn't like she was really talkative, even when she wanted to talk to people. She looked down for a minute, then suddenly realized something he should probably do soon. She slowly walked over to the couch, stopping when she was standing in front of him. "M-maybe s-should p-pick a r-room..." She wasn't quite looking at him while she spoke.. Her gaze kept flicking between his face and other parts of the room she could see without turning her head. She stepped back, then scampered to another part of the room. Well, him just walking away without saying anything.. Kind of made her feel like she was bothering him. ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲

The Orphaned WarriorKristopher glanced over when he noticed Selene sit down closer to him, and asked him a question. He was kind of intruiged by her nervousness. As she scampered to the other side of the room, he stood up and walked over to her. "I don't see why I can't sleep in your room." He said with a questioning look. "On the floor is fine..." He added sheepishly. He never had a place with multiple beds before, he always slept with a room with one bed. All the other bedrooms were off limits. So he was kind of new to all of this roommate stuff.

Her face turned very red and she just stared at him with a shocked look on her face. She couldn't even speak. She just stared at him like what he had said was unthinkable to her.. Which it was. She opened her mouth like she might say something, then closed it again and shook her head slightly. She literally had no idea what to say to this. It took her a few minutes of struggling before she could say anything. "B-but.. Y-you c-can.. C-c-choose a-any of t-t-the o-other r-rooms..." She sounded a bit lost, like she didn't understand how he couldn't know that. ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲

The Orphaned WarriorKristopher tilted his head quizzically when Selene said there were two more beds. "There are more? But... am I supposed to be in them?" He pressed his index fingers together nervously, not knowing what to do. Even if he did have his own bed, he did get a little lonely sometimes... His best friend popped in every so often, so he was used to other people laying in bed with him.

She frowned as she watched Kristopher, then looked down at the ground. "W-well.. S-should b-be ok.." She wasn't sure.. But he didn't have anywhere else and anyway, it wasn't like she had any roommates that would object to it. She had also seen other people inviting people to stay in their dorms as well.. So she had a fairly good idea that it was okay. There was no way he was sleeping in her room. At least not while she was in it. ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲

The Orphaned WarriorKristopher turned his head away from Selene as he yawned loudly. If Selene said it was okay for him to be in the other beds, the he would. "Okay... But I'll make sure no one puts you in harm's way, okay?" He smiled... but this smile felt different than the usual closed-mouth smile he put on in a crowd. It seemed more sincere, more realistic. He blushed at this, and upon realizing that he was blushing, he quickly lowered his head. He hugged Selene tightly. "Good night," He whispered, and then quickly walked down the hall into a bedroom, not realizing it was Selene's.
He leapt onto the bed, put the headphones back on, and turned his MP3 player's volume to the max. Maybe just a few songs, then I'll go back up front... Just to make sure that nobody got inside. Kristoph relaxed, resting his head on his pillow. Ah... A real bed, and a comfy pillow too... Kris took in this foreign feeling, and, strangely, became drowsy. Before the song could finish, Kris fell asleep in Selene's bed, headphones in his ears.

Selene Intarisha ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲ Selene blinked and tilted her head quizzically as she saw Kristopher yawn. Was he tired now? It seemed that way to her. She ducked her head slightly at his word, feeling her cheeks redden again. She almost thought he was doing that on purpose, just because it was so easy to make her face turn red. The thought kinda made her pout before she glanced up at him.. And immediately smiled slightly as she saw him smiling.. Really smiling. Not like what he had been doing earlier, although she had been unaware of the difference until now. Her eyed widened slightly and a surprised look crossed her face when he hugged her. No matter how many times that happened, she was probably not going to get used to it. It seemed like he was tired, because he said good night, but before she could respond in any way, he left and went to the hallway.
Peering after him, she sort of sweat dropped when she saw he went into her room. While she wasn't quite ready to go sleep yet, she had to wonder what to do. Now that sleep was on her mind, she realized that she was really very tired and wasn't quite sure when the last time she had slept was. After a few minutes, she crept to the door of her room, having decided that she was going to get her books and just do some studying. Seeing that he had fallen asleep, she tiptoed over to her desk and picked up her science textbook, then headed for the living room. Once there, she would no doubt curl up on the couch to read the book. ☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲☄✲
