I'm not going to hash something out for it to be shot down anyways. So far it really seems more like I can't even relax for a minute without doing something wrong. So I doubt I'll even bring it up.
I don't get why it would really matter what it looked like if it was still a link and who the character was.
So far, there isn't much story going on anyways besides sparring, so until it lets up, I doubt I'll be posting much anyways.
So I guess all in all, it really doesn't matter that I don't have a badge in my signature right now.
The whole purpose of the badge itself is to not only serve as a link to the Academy for when you're posting outside of it using it as a form of advertisement, but the more precise goal of it is so that it positively identifies you as a recognized member of this guild meaning that you've gone through the application process and done your profile. If you're in a staff position such as with myself and Sky and Alestial and Ckoal for right now, then it shows that you are an 'official' staff member of this guild to other members. This way new members can recognize down the road that that person there is a Moderator or that person there is an Instructor and they can then base their decisions on what they want to do on that. It's more of a security thing since we in the guild can't change our username colors and place fancy titles under our usernames like Gaia staff can. It's also something for the Gods, Goddesses, Head Master, Masters, Instructors and other staff members to see which students belong to which main element. This is helpful in those key staff members to teach those students. It's not necessarily a label or anything. Just a means of recognition.
The reason why I can't have you making your own badge and placing it is because that badge was not issued to you by a Moderator. I'm trying to offer a compromise by letting you come up with something and then working on getting that incorporated into the Academy. I like the idea of having a choice on styles of badges. It's something that can be done, and it wouldn't be a bad idea for members to come up with stuff and then perhaps a vote to see which ones will be. There's going to be no negative criticism. Only constructive. We're not here to tear anyone down for anything.
We're also working on story but also a way to get more members in so that everyone has more of a chance to rp. We're not letting anyone fall to the wayside here. We do a lot of work behind the scenes but we also can't really function without the support of the students. We rely on you guys a lot and we do our best to help serve everyone as well and meet their needs as best we can.
It does matter to have the badge in your signature. It's a rule here at the Academy, although a minor one, but still a rule. I've given options and I'm being very open about this. I still think we should move anything related to changing the badges or giving options for other badges to the suggestion forum though because that would the proper place for it. I'm sorry you may not like the design of the badge right now but you must wear it for the time being. You can shrink down the size so long as it's still legible for others to read.
