As the second-born of three brothers, Crescent grew up without feeling the need to take up extra responsibilities or the urge to exceed expectations, leaving that up to his younger and older siblings. Thus in adulthood he is a very easy-going and relaxed stallion. He is not lazy and he takes all tasks he is given seriously, but he isn't the type to go out of his way to do extra work, either. He is also fearless, knowing that if he ever got into trouble, he could just beat his wings and fly away from the situation. Cres enjoys talking to others and often asks the elder horses what it is like outside the herd lands. He is intensely curious and seems to absorb information like a sponge. Even if he dislikes someone, Cres makes the effort to speak clearly and politely. Anger doesn't come easily to Crescent. He always prefers to work things out in a calm way.

A surprisingly small stallion for his build, Ekter's body seems perfect for his lifestyle. He is foal-like and a bit fearful of sudden movements and noises, so he tends to stick to brush and tight spaces a bigger stallion might not be able to wiggle through. Being in enclosed areas make him feel comfortable, so he tends to avoid open places like fields, but he will travel through them when he needs to. When he meets someone new, Ekter proceeds with caution but doesn't hide his constantly cheerful demeanor. Ekter always seems to be in a state of happiness, unless he is scared of something. He can also be a little bit sensitive, particularly when he is told an unpleasant story. He tends to believe everything he is told by older horses, even if they are obvious lies.
Ekter has a brother and a sister, as well as a few half-siblings he has never met. He spent most of his foalhood running free from rules, spending time occasionally with his brother Ravish. In his adulthood, he still spends much of his time exploring and wandering the land.

Nochen tends to be very distant from the things that go on around him. His mind seems to be so focused on non-physical things that he might not even realize that someone is standing right beside him. When he is in such a state, the only thing that breaks the spell is physical contact. Once his mind is back on the physical world, he immediately becomes annoyed and will regard the one who bothered him with a wry sense of humour. He likes to be sarcastic and doesn't treat anyone else seriously. As far as he is concerned, the only thoughts that matter are his own. Nochen also believes that he can see spirits and communicate with them by tossing bones and studying the ways they fall. His favourite bones were taken from the bodies of humans and fellow horses, with the belief that they are the most strongly attached to spirits.

Silver Glow is a gorgeous pegasus mare and knows it too. She can be described as a bit of a party girl, loving to be the center of the attention, especially around some good-looking stallions. Her flirtatious nature seems to have no bounds and she is not shy about anything at all. But her desires and her objects of affection are often fleeting, and once she is bored of her current company, Silvy is off looking for new adventures. Though she can be very vain and a touch self-centered, she usually gets along with other mares just fine. If she meets a mare that is insecure, she will almost always try to boost their confidence in some way. Sometimes she can get on the nerves of others, but Silvy rarely realizes what she is doing. Her fun-loving personality is both her strength and her weakness.
Silver Glow was raised solely by her mother and has never experienced life in a herd. Her mother was not even certain who her father was, and sometimes Silvy wonders if she will run into him some day, but she is not actively seeking him out.

Skittish and shy, Dream Drifter is rarely seen by the eyes of strangers. She has trouble trusting others, and chooses to hide instead of taking a risk. Most of her trust issues come from the fear that she will end up back in a situation like the one she grew up in, or worse. If she is found and feels cornered, her first reaction is to lash out. She will attack both with words and her hoofs, though she is generally a peaceful mare that hates fighting. She also has a bit of a temper that will trigger an attack as well. Dream can't help but be a little bit touchy as a survival mechanism. She doesn't want to seem like she can be pushed around. Though it is a rare occurrence, when Dream is calm she seems to be a completely different mare. She is friendly in a gentle way and likes to imagine what the future will be like for her and her herd. Despite the abysmal life she had before, Dream has never lost hope for something better.
Most of the time Dream Drifter does not like discussing her past. When she was very young, her mother was killed by a hungry pack of wolves, and she was left in the care of her father. The male didn't want anything to do with his daughter. He treated her like she was his servant, forcing her to do everything that he asked under the threat of being beaten. Throughout her foalhood Dream suffered many injuries both physical and psychological, and although it has been a long time since she had managed to escape her father and flee for the safety of the Riverbend herd, some of the scars still remain.

Most of the time Alejo isn't the most pleasant stallion to be around. He has been spoiled by his easy life and seems to believe he has some kind of special right within the herd. He can also be competitive with horses from the neutral lands as well as from the other herds, with the exception of Native members. He detests the humans and cannot understand how a horse could lower themselves enough to allow them to ride on their backs. Despite all his faults, he does have a few positive traits from being one of his mother's sons. Surprisingly, Alejo likes foals and will watch over a lost little one until their family returns. He also has a strong sense of right and wrong, and knows when he should keep himself in check. When someone is in trouble, he can feel a great deal of sympathy for them and will sometimes offer a helping hoof.
In foalhood, Alejo tended to run rampant. He was full of energy and always seemed to be needed to be pulled out of some kind of trouble. He was also good at manipulating the motherly mares of the herd into giving him what he wanted. Though he has calmed with age, he still hasn't quite grown out of it.

Zahra is such an easy-going female that she is almost oblivious to danger. If something isn't fun or interesting to her, she has the uncanny ability to block it completely from her mind. She'd even ignore a predator stalking after her if she found it 'boring'. This habit of hers puts her at a considerable risk, so she often needs to be looked after by others. Since she's been sheltered by her father most of her life, she also has trouble understanding things that are outside of her little world. She thinks that every horse she meets will share her values and beliefs, so it doesn't occur to her to try to understand others when they are different. This may make her seem like she is unwilling to comprehend a different way of thinking, but she is simply naive and still needs to figure out that not everyone is exactly the same. As long as her mind is focused, Zahra can learn new things.
Zahra's birth wasn't planned, but she had always been cared for and loved. Her father and grandfather took responsibility for most of her care. She also was allowed to see her mother whenever she asked.

Fletcher can be described as a male with an endlessly dark mood. Nothing ever seems to please him, and he is the type that would grumble about the weather if he had nothing else to complain about. He'd even criticize a gift he was given if he got the chance. Fletcher is also quite rebellious and seems to have a blatant disregard for rules, both spoken and assumed. He thinks that rules and boundaries are just a matter of opinion, and not much more. That doesn't mean he doesn't have morals, however. He knows what is right and what is wrong, and when to draw a line for himself. If he sees that it is important to step back and let something go, Fletcher will without hesitation.
After Fletcher was born, his father took responsibility for him, but Alejo was too young to understand fatherhood and often left Fletcher to fend for himself.

Even though he is a wingless and hornless horse himself, Thorn despises regular horses. He thinks that they are inferior to those that have those special traits, and he isn't afraid to say it out loud. Usually, he goes out of his way to make snide, sarcastic remarks to them, often commenting on what they lack. But he doesn't treat those that do have wings or horns much better. He is jealous of them, though he furiously denies it when someone points it out. Thorn's problems stem from foalhood and jealousy of siblings that had inherited either his mother's horns or her feathered wings. He thinks that he didn't inherit such traits because he isn't worthy of them somehow. In reality, Thorn has very little self confidence, and he covers it up by being nasty to anyone he comes across.

Kendra always tries to please her family however she can. She is very sweet and values their opinions and feelings almost to a fault. Sometimes she can exhaust herself trying to make everyone happy and forgets to take care of herself. She's always been a stubborn and hard worker, so it's usually up to her friends to step in and tell her to take a break. When she meets someone that isn't part of her family, Kendra tends to regard them with suspicion. She's a touch worried that she will come across a stranger that might mean them harm, since she has heard stories of what has happened to relatives and family friends. Flattering her will get them no where, but a stranger that is willing to spend time with Kendra and help her with her tasks might get past her guarded nature.

Linnie seems to be a foal stuck in an adult's body. She is a whimsical horse that seems to see every day as different and new, even if the times are hard or the weather has taken a downfall. It isn't unusual to see Linnie chasing butterflies, watching birds, or stopping to sniff the flowers just because she can. She is used to spending time alone and often uses her imagination to keep herself occupied on dull days, but she is always up to making a new friend. At first Linnie might be a little shy around a stranger, but it doesn't take her very long to open up. She is soft-spoken but playful, and may go out of her way to show kindness to someone that she likes. Linnie is also sensitive to emotions, which can be both a good and a bad thing. She feels empathy for others easily and tries to help others to solve their problems, but she can have her feelings hurt easily as well. If she is upset, it often comes out as anger and Linnie tries to hurt the offender back with sharp words, even if she doesn't mean a single thing she says.

The demon blood in Riot's veins gave her more than just a forked tail. She has a love of meat and rarely feels guilt for her actions, even if she makes a mistake. However, she can be described as more mischievous than truly evil. Riot is the type that will use her looks and charm to manipulate others whenever she has the chance. Usually she likes to be in the background, dropping subtle suggestions to her chosen puppet, rather than going out and starting trouble herself. Riot thrives off drama and loves nothing more than to see confusion and mayhem. Occasionally, Riot's gentler side may come out. She may be overconfident and sly, but she can be surprisingly kind and friendly if she is fond of someone. The only time Riot becomes a real danger is when she looses control of her demon side.
Riot was raised by her mother, a regular horse. She knew little of her father, except that he was a demon, and that she would never get to meet him. Despite her appearance, Riot was a relatively normal foal until she was about half-grown. Her demon side had started to take root, which made her unpredictable and bloodthirsty. Her mother feared her and what she was becoming, but stood by and tried to remind Riot of her peaceful life. Gradually, the foal started to take hold and suppress her worst impulses.
Presently, Riot tends to have control of herself.

Cheveyo seems to have a noble aura around him. While he respects others, he also demands respect and courtesy in return. Sometimes he comes off as cold, but he is the type that tends to guard his heart, unless he feels very comfortable around someone. When he speaks, he speaks briefly and simply so that his thoughts and opinions are clear. He also doesn't mind giving a bit of advice to others when he sees that they need help. Cheveyo likes to contribute to the peace and stability of the herd. He has seen war and struggle and what it can do to everyone involved, so he tries to resolve problems calmly before they can get out of hand. He also feels that he can shield others from pain if he takes it on their behalf. Cheveyo won't stop to think when it comes to protecting a loved one, even if it means his own life is put at risk.
Born and raised as warhorse, Cheveyo has never known another life. In his youth he was a very harsh, brutal stallion, and he often was needlessly cruel to others. He only had a few friends, and the closest of them was a mare that had captivated him. Sweet, gentle, and kind, the mare was everything that he was not. He began to learn from her just as a war broke out between the Native tribe and a group of settlers. Every available horse was taken to war, including his friend. But she did not return. Her sudden death broke Cheveyo's heart. He was thrown into a deep depression for many seasons, dwelling in loneliness.
In time, Cheveyo came to realize that he was wasting away. Instead of living in the past, he decided that he would uphold his friend's memory by helping the herd, not avoiding it. He slowly returned to the herd and became more like the calm, understanding stallion he is today.
His mate, Golden Sunrise, has also helped him heal.

Mothball is an incredibly lazy, vain and selfish horse. He loves to brag and exaggerate but he rarely acts on what he says. He can also be relentlessly sarcastic if he takes a dislike to someone. It is almost impossible to tell when Moth is telling the truth because he changes his stories so frequently. He also likes to force others into doing things for him by making false promises. The only way to convince Mothball to get up and do something for himself is by appealing to his competitive nature. If he thinks he is getting the opportunity to show off, he will jump on it in a heartbeat. Sometimes a particularly bright coloured horse can also appeal to his competitive side. He will become jealous of their appearance and will try to outdo them in another way. If that doesn't work, he might start following them around and try to be their friend just so he can make himself feel better. Generally, Mothball does not make close, solid friendships with other horses.

A serious mare, Samya comes off as cold towards others. She does things for herself, and her independence may make her seem intimidating, especially with her tendency to be aloof. Samya is a realist, preferring to focus on what is happening to her in the present rather than some future dream. She finds imaginative horses quite irritating, so she will potentially snap at them if they push her too far. However, Samya rarely feels any dislike towards others. As unfriendly as she may seem, a horse has to give her a reason to hate them before Samya feels true contempt for them. Deep down, Samya is loving and loyal to her few companions. Once she cares about someone, she often takes on a quiet, guardian type of role.
Samya is taking refuge in the Riverbend herd after a dispute with a group of demon horses that left her severely injured. Although she has no external scars, her movements are sometimes stiff from lingering muscle damage. The spider charm she wears was snatched from one of the demons. She thinks of it as a symbol of her survival.
