Danni had been hooked at 'Irish cook'. Immediately she dropped her drill, carelessly lifting a hand to keep the board levitating against the wall, and broke out in a grin. "Don't think Daddy would like being referred to as old, though. The big guy's only thirty six, you know. Maybe you're just too young." She said, raising a brow when he apologized and gestured out a window, where they could see the destuction that had yet to be repaired.

"Well...Alec, was it? Even if you'd been here, you couldn't have done anything. I just recently got back from the Third Gate with the only spell that could've protected us against the damned special bombs that the b*****d set off." She said, then shrugged. "But, you're here now, I suppose, which means you get to help rebuild. First thing's first, though. Before I head back into the kitchens, I take it you'd like to see Da." She said, and put a companionable arm around his shoulders, leading him out of the west wing.

"Night, you can just leave that if you want. I'll get back to it in a second." She said, frowning at a fallen tree she'd missed and righting it again with a snap of her fingers. "Damn trees falling all over the place...Ah, there's the big guy. Da! Da, you've got a guest! Some guy named...Alec! Yeah, Alec." She called up to Cook, who was busy helping put the dorm's floors back in since the foundation itself had pretty much remained intact.

Cook looked over, then stopped in the act of wiping his brow. "Son of a b***h...Well, well! If it aint my old partner. Missed my kitchens after all this time, did ya? Sorry to say, I got me a new helper. A whole lot prettier than you too, and she calls me Daddy." He said, drawing Danni automatically to his side before he lifted Alec in a bone crushing hug and then setting him back down on his feet.

He returned to wrap an arm around Danni's waist then, gesturing to Alec. "Danni girl, this here's my old work partner, Alec Leaton. I don't think I've mentioned him before, but we were close way back when." He said, and Danni raised a brow. "Really now? You know, Da, he called you 'old'." She said conspiratorily, and Cook spoke with a teasing sternness. "Did he now? Well, maybe he's just too young. Must've lost what brains he had in that head of his after he left." He said, and had Danni laughing.

Alec was pleased that Danni didn't immediately try and take his head off after the rather strange introductions. Alec gladly let Danni guide him towards the kitchens where Cook was waiting. A big grin spread over Alec's face as he saw his old friend working hard as always.

Alec almost had the wind knocked out of him from Cook's hug, but it felt oddly good to be back in the old Irishman's embrace after all those years. After the friendly jab at his age, Alec decided to jab back and nudged Cook in the stomach playfully. "Oh really now? And here I thought your skills only got better because your waistline here was getting wider." Alec laughed teasingly at Cook, it felt good to be exchanging friendly banter with the old man again.

But Alec's mind was still on the sorry state of the grounds, and Alec still felt guilty about not being around to help. So Alec turned towards a window and looked out over the rubble while talking back to both Danni and Cook. "Right, I've been away for far too long. I think it's high time I did something to help out." Alec cracked his knuckles and his neck before turning back to face Danni and Cook. "So tell me, what's the damage so far?"

"Bout Time others decided too get off their lazy arses and help." Night said floating by with saplings hanging off his shoulder. He grabbed a shovel Digging a hole for each of the trees, Placing them in with unseen care from him.

After he finished patting down the soil for the trees he floated back to the group lazily. "So if you were so worried about the school why the hell did you leave in the first place?," Night asked looking at the man blankly. "Usually you humans don't leave stuff that's important to you."

Alec turned towards the apparition floating towards him with slight indignation in his eyes. His voice sounded defensive as he explained. "I left the school 6 years ago on family business, back when it was still intact and not in any danger. I only just found out about all these attacks a few weeks ago. I rushed over as soon as I heard the news."

Cook took the insults with a grin, laughing. Then he raised a brow at Night. "Now, boy, don't go spouting things when you don't know what's what. My boy here wouldn't have left if it hadn't been important. As for the damage...Well, some of the grounds got off unscathed, like the shack, but a lot of it suffered anywhere from major to minor damage." He said, shaking his head.

((Lmao, long freaking post here. Lots of description.))

Alec nodded at what Cook had to say, already beginning to plan out a plan of attack on fixing the school back up. Alec spit into his hands and rubbed them together in an attempt to psyche himself up for the work ahead of him. He hadn't used his powers like this in a long time, and he was a little rusty. "Right, stand back, I'm about to get to work." And with that, Alec squatted down into a marathon runner's starting position.

For one second he stayed there, tensed and ready, and then the next he kicked off and a gigantic gust of wind shot him out the doors and into the grounds. Alec rode the wind until he was hovering about 20 feet above ground, he liked to get a bird's eye view of what he was doing. Jay clapped his hands together and held them out to his sides, facing the ground. He slowly began to lift his hands up, and as he did, the ground shook audibly. Anyone who was outside wouldn't believe it, but stone foundations began to rise out of the ground where they were needed, and steel supports began to spring from the stone. Alec continued to raise his hands, and stone bricks began to rise up and cement themselves to the foundations that Alec had just raised moments ago. Soon the entire skeleton work of the entire school was complete, including door and window holes!

Once the basic structure of the school was complete, Alec threw his arm back behind him and began to make a large waving motion over the school. As he did, wooden beams began to rapidly grow from the ground and lock themselves into place to form the wood structure. As more wood began to align itself, Jay used his other hand to make another sweeping motion towards the supply areas. All the insulation that the school had bought for the repairs was now being blown by the wind in a controlled manner, and they too were neatly packed into place. As the insulation settled, the excess wood Alec had created began to seal off the wood skeleton of the school and form the inside walls. Finally, Alec used the rest of the wood to form the roof of the school. With a quick upward movement of his free hand, tiles for the roof rose from the ground and stacked themselves accordingly. With that, Alec was done with the woodwork of the school. Alec even went so far as to put in the crown molding and doors while he was at it, hinges and all!

Once all the woodwork was done, Alec swept his hand over the school a second time, but this time in the opposite direction. This time as his hand swept over the school, cables for the school's electrical systems sprang out of the ground and began to weave themselves into the nooks and crannies of the framework where they were needed. They even began to sprout sockets for outlets and even seemed to grow light bulbs where needed! Economically friendly light bulbs, of course.

One final time, Alec made his hands command the earth to give up something it was holding in it's depths. But this time Alec simply brought up sand from the ground. Alec then began to move his hands like he was controlling a marionette, which made the sand below him shift and form into various square and round shapes. Once this was done, Alec used one hand to move the sand up towards him and begin to move in front of him. As they did, Alec held out his free hand, from which a giant cone of fire erupted and cooked the sand into window glass immediately. Once the procession of windows was complete, Alec moved them over the ground where woodwork sprang up once again and framed itself around the windows. Using the wind, Alec carefully moved the windows into their new homes he had left open for them all along the school's walls.

As an added bonus, Alec decided that he should add to the grounds while he was there. So, as a present from him to the school, Alec moved his hands over a spare area near the back of the school grounds. But rather than raise his hands, this time he lowered them forcefully. This time the earth sank down in the shape of a large rectangle with a downward incline at the bottom and a place for stairs near the shallow end. Waving his hand over the crater, stones began to sprout from the walls and cement themselves into place. Waving his hands over the now stoned crater, ceramic tiles sprung from the ground and stuck themselves to the walls. Anyone watching would notice that some of the tiles had depth markers on them, beginning to denote what Alec had in mind for this spot. Alec pointed to an area on the side of where the deep end of the crater was and snapped his fingers. Two steel bars, coupled with steps, wove out of the ground and fixed themselves into a ladder which led down about 3 feet into the pit. Once that was done, Alec held out both his hands in front of him and began to make circling motions with them, like he was forming a sphere in front of his face. As he did, water droplets from the air began to gather in the area Alec was motioning to. Very quickly, a large sphere of crystal clear water was hovering over the pit. Once the sphere had enough water, Jay slowly let his hands fall, and the sphere easily let it's contents fall into the pit in a controlled torrent of water. Alec pointed to the far deep end of the pool he had just finished and snapped his fingers one last time. Two diving boards sprung up from the ground and attached themselves to the edge of the deep end. For the final touch, Alec waved his hands over the pool one last time, and a stone pathway rose up and surrounded the pool, forming a small area to the side where chairs and tables could go, and a path that lead to the main school. The school's new pool was now open and ready for business!

Alec let his hands fall to his sides as he let out a loud sigh of exhaustion. He hadn't done something this big in a long time, and he was feeling it. But after a quick slap in the face from his own hand a quick head shake, Alec was ready to go again. Alec sat there floating as he examined his work. With a happy nod of his head, Alec concluded that he had done his job. Cupping his hands over his mouth, Alec shouted down to the almost awestruck crowd watching from the grounds, in particular Cook and Danni. His voice seemed to travel and amplify unnaturally loud so that they could hear him clearly over the distance. "So what kinda decor are we talking about here? Victorian? New wave? Retro? I do requests you know!" Jay laughed at his own joke, wondering just how his old friend and new friend would like his work.

Instead of answering, Danni merely stared, then her whole face brightened as she let out a laugh. With a flick of her wrist, she was up in the air with him, gripping his face between her hands and kissing him loudly on the mouth. "I adore you, I officially adore you! Marry me and we'll run off together to Bora Bora, and we'll have a dozen kids and never have to see this place again. What do ya say, boy-o?" She said, her eyes dancing with amusement before she dropped down to the ground again.

Cook shook his head at her, shouting up at Alec. "Don't trust a word this one says, boy. She's too free with her kisses and adoration these days. Get on down here so I can thank your sorry a**, boy. You've done enough, and I've got to be getting back to my kitchens soon." He said, his huge hands on his hips.

The last thing Alec was expecting was for Danni to fly up next to him and thank him personally, and certainly not in the manner she chose! Alec could only float there, dumbfounded and with a silly half grin on his face. But then a voice in the back of his head began to scream Jailbait, you dumba**! As soon as he realized what was going on, Alec took one hand and slapped himself hard to wake him out of his stupor. After giving his whole body a good shake to get out the willies, Alec let himself drop to the ground. He landed right in front of both Danni and Cook, and decided to address Danni first. "Sorry girl, I think I'm a bit too old for you." Alec's tone took on a teasing tone as he continued. "Besides, it would be kinda awkward for the new spellcasting teacher to run off and marry one of his soon-to-be students, now wouldn't it?" Alec laughed as he wondered just how Danni would take the news that he was to be her new teacher.

Alec smiled playfully as he turned to Cook and grasped his hand in a firm shake. "The only thanks you'll have to give me is one of your famous meals. I haven't eaten anything decent in almost 6 months." As if to amplify this statement, Alec's stomach gave an audible rumble, making it sound like some large animal was nearby. Alec simply laughed at the situation. "See? He agrees with me."

A strange figure, tall and lanky in a fashionable though torn suit, strode casually across the air to Alec. His face was bound tight with linen bandages, but his shaggy blonde hair remained exposed. Physically, he was rather feeble; his slim body, muscular as it was, bore a multitude of deep scars.
He spoke with a British drawl: "Holy mother of...Kid! You the one who did this?"
PostPosted: Sun Jun 28, 2009 3:46 pm

((Hey db3789, says you're at your friend limit when I tried to accept the request. Didn't know their was a limit...))

Danni pouted in mock disappointment, but her eyes brightened when he said he was the new spellcasting teacher. "You're the new teach? Seriously? No more sadistic old crone who still believes in slapping my knuckles with a ruler? Did she die or something? You know what, I don't care! You've just made my day, again! I'd kiss you again, but then Daddy'll think I'm easy. Instead, I'll go handle the kitchens at the school so Da can get your meal. I'm the second-best cook in this joint, you know." She said with a wink, and if she'd been the type to skip, that's what she'd be doing as she made her way to the kitchens. As it was, she merely walked purposefully, with a smile on her face that few people she passed trusted. By now, most knew that if Danni Rinaldi was smiling, it was most likely bad news for the rest of them.

Cook merely watched her walk away and grinned before he turned back to Alec, his brow raised. "You bet you're too old for her, boy. And if and when you meet that girl's older sister, I don't care how pretty she is, you run for your life and never look back." He said, laughing at his own joke towards Ophelia. "Now come on, I'll get you that meal. Hope you're in the mood for my lasagna, boy. It's tonight's dinner, which I expect you to come to, but for now you'll have to settle for fried chicken and spuds. We'll have it in the shack, and don't mind the dogs. They probably still remember you, so there'll be some jumping." He said, then raised a brow when the bandaged man appeared. "Looks like you've got an admirer, boy." He muttered, shaking his head.

Dymetri was in the cafeteria, looking outside of the wall-length window. Lin had forbid him to go back into the forest for the next few days, and he was honestly bummed out. Not only that, but he was hungry.
His throat ached for the simple liquid that could quench his thirst. No wonder he used to hate humans, he thought, they were chocked full of the stuff. Jealousy really does drive a person mad.
Speaking of jealousy, he was jealous that she was able to go out into the sun with nothing holding her back. Not to be confused, Dymetri adored the darkness. He's become quite attached to it, as a matter of fact. However, ever since the small accident of which he almost attacked his favorite student...
Well.
It didn't go so well.
But there was one fact he was having trouble himself trying to face. He liked the power that coursed through him when he was at his full form. It was exhilarating, he felt like he was able to take down every single one of the people in the school, which was probably true.
Power like that should be used, cherished, abused...
Dymetri would have stood up immediately and barged out of the building to feel that rush if he weren't meeting Lin soon. To think they had to resort to secret meetings... Ugh. And to think that he, one of the oldest vampires existing (he recently discovered), was actually controlling himself for some child elf.
He sighed and crossed his arms across his vest. He was wearing a black, button-down shirt with a white vest and black pants. It was finally time to put all that gained money to good use. The only reason why he was still the head of detention and the Night classes was because of Lin. Again, he couldn't believe that he was sacrificing so much just to be with her.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 28, 2009 7:05 pm

((And I'm back! Sorry everyone that I've been gone so long. I've kept the members of my guild up to date on what's been going on. Basically, trouble with my grandfather's health and lots of Sims. My grandpa's fine now, though, and I've calmed down some from the release of Sims 3. lol.))

It was when night had fallen on the grounds and had stayed dark for a few hours that Lin became excited, which was completely opposite on how she used to feel! She used to despise night and desire the day. Not now, though.

Lin had finally managed to tear herself away from her independent study class for Medicinal Herbs that night. It was always at night. She had chosen that time because it would give her something to do until she could see her favorite professor again. He had classes he needed to teach, obviously, but when his first class started on most nights, Lin was almost always done with all her homework by that time. And since it was be dark by that time, she didn't get as much of a rush from being out in the gardens as she usually did out in the bright sunlight. So it had been a perfect time to have her independent study class.

And now it was over for the night and she would work on her homework for the independent class right before her 3 hours of sleep at night. Elves only needed that much sleep every few days since their bodies already replenished themselves at an amazing pace. It was quite nice and convenient. And now she could spend time with Dymetri!

Despite Dymetri's aversion to having to sneak around to see each other, Lin actually quite liked it! It was the first time she did something that most people would not approve of. Not only was she sneaking out to see a vampire of all people, a race that was literally lethal to her kind, but she was also sneaking out to see a professor in a romantic fashion! So many things wrong with what she was doing, and it gave her a rush to do so! An even bigger one than when she was out in the gardens. Elves always obeyed the rules, especially Lin since her father was one of the Elven Elders. Maybe Dymetri's lack of concern for the rules was starting to rub off on her.

Finally, Lin was in front of the cafeteria doors. Even though Elves could move quite quickly, it still seemed to take so long for her to get here. She couldn't move too quickly because it would have drawn unwanted attention to her.

With one final look behind her to make sure no one had followed her, she opened up one side of the double doors, quickly squeezed in, and then shut the door quickly yet quietly behind her.

When she turned around, the most brilliant site awaited her. Her love was standing by a window with the moonlight spilling in on him, as if it was throwing itself at him because he was so enchanting and beautiful. It wanted to touch him, absorb into him.

And then there were his clothes. Mostly black, which Lin normally would have hated, but on Dymetri, with his outward demeanor accompanied with the secrecy they were meeting under, the black was incredible. It fit him just right, as if they were tailored to fit him. They probably were. He had exquisite taste. The clothes were tight-fitting but not so much so that it looked ridiculous. Just tight enough to accentuate his lean, muscular form. The white vest below his black button down shirt brought out the definition on his chest even more.

And he was all hers. How could that be? How in the world could she get this lucky? Yeah, that sounded quite corny, but Elves thought and spoke that way. Poetic words were their language. And Dymetri deserved nothing but poetry to describe him.

Lin slowly tiptoed over to Dymetri. Yes, Elves could sneak up on just about anyone. Elves could practically glide, not making a sound. But Dymetri was a vampire and had not only incredible hearing but also an impeccable sense of smell. He probably smelled her floral, woodsy scent the moment she entered the cafeteria, possibly even before when she had been outside the doors.

It was still fun to act like she was sneaking up on him, though.

When she was behind him, she put one of her soft, elegant hands on his shoulder and her other hand on the side of his face that was away from her. That way, she was able to stand up on her tiptoes and kiss his cheek softly and slowly.

She then whispered in his ear with a light, airy, giggly voice, "Hello my love. I have missed you."

It was a moment after the school was rebuilt a frighteningly Familiar face stepped onto the grounds, Kai. His body covered in Bright silver armor, with a blue trim around the side. A white and black sword hung from his hip, It's sheath was colored similarly to his armor it's silver base sparkling in the light. His long brown hair, however, couldn't hide a long Scar across his eye, obviously from a sword.

A smile graced his lips seeing the fully rebuilt school. "That little mage did more in the past minute then I could in five years, ... good thing cause I'm not going to have to do it anymore," He said chuckling, scratching his new gotee. "Wonder if anyone missed me," He said doubtfully.

He walking too his tower looking at the silver shrine. he sighed waving his hand over the memorial, The blades, and earth melting into a small liquid ball hovering and inch away from his palm. "No use for this useless thing, anymore, It's energy was wasted long ago." He sighed, the silver ball in his hand turning into a stream that flowed into his blade until it was completely gone. "Now," He asked, "Wheres Ialo?"

Ahh, her voice. It rang through his field of hearing like soft, soothing bells. It was nice. He felt like she did it on purpose.
Now, Dymetri was able to act gracefully, just as a vampire would, but his intentions weren't graceful.
He turned quickly and swifted her up with his inhuman strength (even though if his strength were normal, she most likely would have weighed next to nothing anyway.)
He smiled his brightest and tilted the top of her body downward for a dramatic, soft kiss. That was just how he was, after all. If you lived forever, why not make use out of it?
"You startled me," he said sarcastically, setting her down in a seated position on a lunch table. He stood in front of her, his face admiring hers, and put a finger underneath her chin. "Guess what."
