Stig watched as the woman roared in anger and then disappeared without an explanation. “That sucks, I wanted to know why she didn’t show decay like other beings,” he said aloud in protest. He turned however when someone behind him asked a question. Recognizing the voice Stig glanced over his shoulder and huffed. “Enough acting the last one left, besides we’re not supposed to meet for a while. Unless I’ve forgotten something,” he said turning around to face the newcomer. “I’m a buisy man so unless you have something important stuff it.”

Moby the Jester appeared in the corner, clutching a profusely bleeding chest. Staggering about the room, he tumbled into a statue, causing every suited obelisk to fall with a cardboard clamor. He reacted to this by recoiling and falling backwards into a patch of irises conjured through the cracking floor by his very fancy of death. He reached a trembling hand toward the gunman and weakly beckoned him forth with an accusatory point.
"You shot. . .me."

Heaving an exaggerated sigh of dismay at the abrupt comments delivered by the human Loki rolled his eyes and walked around the male. “Straight to the point as always huh? How long has it been since we last spoke face to face? Two, maybe three years? Time is such a trivial thing to beings who’s lives are never ending, but isn’t it different for you humans? I thought you may have gotten over your disgust at my presence by now but I guess I was wrong.” He said with a small pout as he turned away from his comrade.

A sickening smile crossed his features after a second before whirling around to face Stig. “Besides, my visit here has nothing to do with you. I have come across a wealth of necromantic knowledge and am dying, figuratively, to try and regain some of my former glory. I figured if I were to use this crystal here as the focal point for my calling I wouldn’t need the usage of one of my severed pieces. No help from you I might add.” Loki said with an air of maliciousness around his being. Shortly after he had ended speaking the colorful jester arrived at the scene again.

Quirking a brow at the males obvious exasperation at being felled by the inaccurate shot fired. “It would do well for you to rise from the ground before I swallow you whole where you lay. Answer my question with due honesty and I may choose to let you live for now. What is your true purpose for being here?” He asked making a straight path towards the jester.

The Jester creased himself in half and sprang to his feet as he unfolded. Outstretching his arms, he revealed the gunman's round flattened against an ace of hearts stuck to his chest. Staring at it, he promptly peeled it away with a yellowing fingernail. He stared at the loquacious fellow of fire and said,

"You know, had the other fellow responded, I would have made a funny joke. I hadn't quite concocted it in my head, but it most certainly would have involved his mother's corpulence. Regardless, I digress."

The Jester stifled a giggle:
"I'm just jacking around, if you must know. Though, I doubt my answers and actions please you, as now you've nothing to swallow. I dare say I've an idea as to how I could accommodate you."

Laughing once more, he reflected the question of the infernal being before him.

"What are YOU doing here, dear?"

Obviously by the expression of disinterest that lingered on Loki’s face he was not amused by Moby’s actions. He smirked however at the prospect of not killing this man but such things were far from the truth. Honesty was what filled the words of the jester but such was not always accepted. “My reasons for stepping on these grounds are of no concern to you. That is, you will not be alive long enough to make use of such knowledge.” He said before thrusting a hand forward to grab the man around his neck.

"Damn Necromancers...They are coming from the woodwork like a family of cockroaches. Sickening." She said, dully, up on a precariously perched ladder and running her finger down the spine of a very old book. She pulled it free from the others and a small black spider crept up her hand. She examined it for a few seconds and squashed it unceremoniously against the bookshelf. She slid down the creaking ladder, which fell the moment she'd let go from it. She'd also plucked from the volumes a tome on causing forced bad luck. these books were mostly useless to her. But she'd written to an old friend, and knew she could use them.

" That jester is going to get himself killed..." She said, dully. Stomping her foot, the stone barricade vanishing from her way, and returned to the main corridor of the alter, where the others were. She returned the barricade and looked to the others.

"You will not touch the Lunar Diamond..." She said, looking at each of them in turn, observing each's acute expression.

"Jester... what have you done with the rest of my books?" She asked, with a new tone of kindness. She knew yelling at this one would gain no forward progress. When she saw the hostile movements of the closest she dropped her books and slammed her staff onto the marble floor before her, summoning several projectile spikes to jut violently in close proximity to Loki, sticking up at an angle away from Moby and towards the attacker.

The Jester, receiving the telegraph of the attack, thrust his arms toward his assailant just as the spikes flew. By some farce of reality, a great expanse of hallway now lay between the lethal groping hand and the cackling throat. He and Aurora stood on one end of the impossible field, and the necromancer and homunculus on the other.

He turned his head to Aurora:
"My dear Aurora, what did I tell you?" Moby said optimistically, "The most elusive things are right under our noses! You're standing on them!"

After a contemplative silence, Moby vented his frustrations.
"You know, I stood on top of that statue all day, and not a soul did I find which befitted my purpose. What say you and I coalesce for a moment atop this chapel?"

The Jester thrust his cards against the ground and climbed aboard them as they became an ever growing pillar. He burst forth through the chapel ceiling, laughing hysterically at his destruction as the hall returned to its normal state below him.

Aurora frowned and spiraled upward, her wings spreading, zipping through the hole before it sealed itself, all of the cathedral returning to its former glory. She looked around atop the roof and looked at Moby critically.

"Jester, you wanted a word with me?" she asked, the wind swept her hair to her left, Her wings disappearing into her back again. She rested her staff on her shoulder, and looked down with a mild interest.

"If you don't, I've two pathetic souls to deal with. They must not get to the Diamond of resurrection. "

A simple illusion had Moby cast and one that was easily broken through altering the method of thought to bypass the afflicted areas returning the scenery to normal. Loki cocked his head to the side at the image of the stone spikes clasping down on his body to prevent movement. “I do hate it when this happens.” Loki muttered to himself as he grabbed the farthest reaching tip and pulled himself free like sand through fingertips. Reforming his body the man tilted his head to the side to let out a sickening crack. “Missy, I will touch what I want.” He said before taking a step towards the two now standing beside one another. Noting that both of them paid him no mind he shrugged his shoulders and approached the crystal that he was keen on finding. He cleared the distance in a split second having no need to hide some of his more revealing traits. “What first to call?” He wondered aloud.

"Three years wasn't a long enough wait," Stig said bluntly trying to have patients as the man finished the rest of his speach. Turning away from the demon half way through his talking he headed to where he figured the ancient tomes were. He turned just in time to see a strange clown looking man dieing rather artisticly. As a necromancer Stig could appreciate a good death even one as fake as this, he would have to congratulate him on a good preformance if he ever saw him again.

He hand't made it much further from there before the lady form before returned bringing down the wall she had made just long enough to exit the doorway. He was going to insist she remove the barricade when she and the strange clown left apparently through the ceiling of the chapel. Looking interested at their exit he sighed and ignoring the presence of the demon went to examine the barricade. He noticed it was well built, made of solid stone, and sealed the room off completely leaving no cracks between the doorway and here barricade. He narrowed his eyes and started unwrapping the bandages from his right arm intent on decaying a good sized hole in her barricade, he had no intent on destroying anything especially the stone. It was the key to his research.

Moby, on the roof of the chapel with Aurora, mined from his pocket a lustrous gem much too large to fit within it. His spindly fingers were curled around the resurrection diamond.

"You don't have to worry about it, dear, I've no longer a frilly vested interest in this trifling cut of coal. My charity will see you gifted with it, as you seem, past your demeanor, to have a just heart. However, I fear my plans won't bear the intended mortal fruit if I do not see to it that, in your eyes, an atrocity be wrought."

" So, " She said, looking up at the two crescent moons, both of which were a sparking, beaming white. " You swiped the Diamond, to cause trouble"

She smiled at him, her gaze moving from the moon to his hand.

" So, why is it that you expose it only in front of me, rather than the two fools below, who are seeking it?" She asked, laughing lightly, her eyes glittering. If the Diamond was in any danger, or in the wrong hands. The Moons above would darken to a horrific crimson (such is the case in a lunar eclipse) and tremors would rattle the ground. But there were no earth quakes, no bloody moons, so the Gem was safe. At least for now.

Moby turned to the crescent moons, and, after beaming at their peace, said,

"Ah, of course the gem is safe, m'dear. Your pampered gods barely acknowledge little old me. As I said, it rightfully belongs to the just. The just in statement is undoubtedly you. Although, I have to question your apathy toward it. Though true it may be that it is sought by a rotting corpse and a smoldering golem, I can tell by the behavior exhibited that you've a desire keener than either of theirs to keep it where it lies."

The Jester tossed the diamond into the air and snatched it halfway down its descent. His eyes shifted East and West as he bit his tongue, leaving the tip of it exposed through his lips.

"It looks like the burg is bustling."

He swiveled on a heel and faced Aurora.

"The curtains part, the scrims are taught. Let this tragic play begin and end a comedy!"

The Jester once again tossed the diamond into the air. It descended with the slowness of sap crawling down a tree. He drew a single card from his tunic.
The ace of clubs.
As he swung it, its shape substantiated and elongated into a small cudgel and struck the diamond into the distance with a frank ferocity.
Upon the cracking contact, he screamed in a sacerdotal voice which echoed all throughout the hearts of the city's denizens.

"DISSENTERS! DISSENTERS AND HERETICS HAVE INVADED THE CHAPEL! THEY'RE DESTROYING THE MONUMENTS OF OUR FALLEN HEROES AND SEEK TO STEAL AWAY WITH THE DIAMOND! HELP US, HELP US!"

A momentary hush fell over the city, a silence interrupted by four snaps of comedian fingers, and four dins of bronze warping and collapsing in the chapel below.
The rustle of angry feet became a tumult. A typhoon of pious rage loomed over the steeple and descended upon it as vindictive worshipers storming to protect their church.

The resurrection diamond glinted, a speck ingrained in the distant horizon.

"How about a rooftop race, my dear?"

Seen by nary a soul but Aurora, Moby leaped into the wild blue.

Aurora took off after him, enraged. How dare he let such a precious gem out of her sight! She lept with the spread of her wings and used the thrust to catch up with him.

"Why did you do that? " she asked, rather annoyed, she'd rather be dealing with the two fools frolicking in her fortress. She dissolved her wings and bound on the edge of a roof, darting after him, her steps remaining light.

Meanwhile a young woman waltzed lazily into the cathedral, humming a tune to no rhythm in particular, she twirled raising her arms above her head before continuing her path forward. Several seconds later, the arms of two statues severed with a loud crack and fell to the floor with an even louder clatter. This was sure to get the attention of anyone in the corridor. She smiled as she noticed two men standing before the entrance of her destination. She laughed and cartwheeled past them, sending several cracks through the marble floor below them, ruining the foundation beneath them, ready, by the slightest movement, to send them down into the caverns of god knows where. She giggled as she skipped down the stairs, leaping two at a time and stopped at the entrance to the resurection alter. There before her, in all its brilliance was the Diamond. She laughed, having watched the little performance on the roof, which involved her dear friend, Aurora.
"Well, I'll be damned..." She said, standing on her hands and walking forward on them before flipping to her feet again. " the Diamond's safe and sound in its cradle.
