Okay, now that I'm done with the Gaia Halloween thing:

I've seen the first two "scenes". There are three "stories" with six scenes each. You have to play through a whole story to get villian access to that story. The plot of the first appears to be the Riddler's, since each time you catch a villian, Riddler is sneaking away with something. The first scene was Clayface and a bunch of Riddler's goons. The second involves Mr. Freeze and his goons (who are all females in parkas! rofl )

CatchMeCeillie
I definitely can't wait to get this. I have all of the little figurines from McDonalds. Is the Batmobile the tank from the latest movies or the sleek beautiful one from earlier?

The Batmobile is the lovely sleek one from the Lego kit, which looks most like the one from Batman: The Animated Series. When you climb into the Batmobile from the Cave, it takes you to the first scene.

You get to the second scene via the Batboat.

If you go in the elevator, it takes you up to Wayne Manor's library, where you can see the trophy bits you've collected from each scene (there are ten parts scattered about each scene like in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones games).

Ack! Haven't updated in a while. Sorry. I've been distracted by Boom Blox and Real Life and haven't been in the mood to hunker down for a good two hours with the Wii.

This won't get any posts for a while. The Wii is currently on loan to a local librarian for a youth program she's running.

I got the Wii back from the library (with thanks for the loan). I'll probably get it set up over Christmas break and hopefully find the time to work on Lego Batman once more.

No big. Like I said in the Helm, I'm going to be out of circulation for at least until after the new year, starting Christmas Eve. The Wii notes will have to come after that.

Ahh, that's right, you did say that.

Ahh! It's been over a year since I did this thread.

Well, since this last week has had me stuck at home with sick family, I've played some more.

I've completed the first story arc and unlocked Arkham Asylum. I've gone up against Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy (that level was a hoot), done a car chase with Two-Face, and the final level was Two-Face and the Riddler. When I start the Arkham side, I'll be running Riddler and Two-Face instead of Bats and Robin.

For those who care, the Joker doesn't come until the third arc.

I was wrong. I didn't run Two-Face and the Riddler: I ran Clayface and the Riddler. Clayface, it turns out, is a jumper, like Jar-Jar Binks before him. The Riddler has a mind control power--if an NPC has a question mark over his head, the Riddler can remote control him into doing actions, kinda like Robin with his special suit can work a remote control car.

Something I think is cool: the music is from the first Batman movie (Michael Keaton). I sat through all the credits just to be sure, since it was sounding so familiar.

Just a quick note: I've unlocked several "buyable" characters. Right now Bruce Wayne, Nightwing, and Batgirl are also running around the Batcave and Wayne Manor. Alfred was already there, but now he's playable. There are a lot of henchmen I could unlock in Arkham, but I haven't bothered yet. Riddler's goons are already swarming all over, but none of the unlocked heroes show up there. Likewise, Clayface, Riddler, Mr. Freeze, and the goons don't show up in the Cave.

Mr. Freeze's freeze-ray is a pain to operate, BTW. It's clunky to aim, doesn't have the range of a Batarang or gun, and will freeze my allies (and he froze me once, when I was running Riddler). Mr. Freeze is also a strongman, like Clayface, which means they can pull any object with an orange handle (like trucks).

Poison Ivy has now been unlocked. She's a jumper, and can walk through poison areas (like Clayface), AND can make a plant grow wherever you seen little pink hearts floating in the air. Nice. I finally realized that the green "dust puffs" that show up whenever Ivy or Clayface take steps is the clue that they're poison-proof.

Hopefully, I'll get a lot more play in during Thanksgiving, since I'm not a big football fan.

Just a quick note: The next level of stories involves a plot by The Penguin, with help from Catwoman, Killer Croc, Bane, and Man-Bat. There is a boat driving section somewhat parallel to the car chase in the first round of stories.

Joker doesn't come until I do all the Batman rounds on the third story arc. *sigh* I'll have to console myself with unlocking Catwoman.

I did some research. Ras al-Gul is the very last character one can unlock--only by doing EVERYTHING possible in the game (100% completion). WHAT'S THE POINT?

The second-to-last character is Hush? Who???? I know he was in some story arc, but was he really that big a deal?

Catwoman has a whip, like Indiana Jones! Sometimes she'll even whip a male character, pull him to her, and kiss him, something Lego Indy would do to female charaters in his game. Whee! Unfortunately, you can't shake the Wii controller like a whip handle to make it work, which I could do with Indy.

I've also noticed that Poison Ivy has a similar girly attack: She will grab a make opponent and dip him into a kiss. He'll step back with a stunned expression, then literally fall to pieces.

Batgirl, alas, is only a Bat. She can use any of Batman's special suits, but she isn't a jumper (like every other female charater in the game).
