"That's alright, my father needs to focus on his work anyway." Pulling out his book from his coat pocket and setting it on the bed. He then reached into his bag and pulled out a rather big black case which Eric had looked through, all it contained was Adam's personal tools that he liked to take with him anywhere. "Well, mostly my books, they hold a certain sentimental value to me. That and a few things, but I can make a list for you if you want to check them over. I understand how you must be cautious and all with new arrivals and with all the things that go around here." A pause as he thought things over. "If I were to gain everything that I have down there up here...it wouldn't be the same for me."

"Yes, they did. But I didn't expect to actually be up here for infinite amount of time. I'll look into seeing what I can do with that request." Though he snorted a bit and grinned at Eric. "Oh no way will I ever use tech, it's just not the same to me really." After checking his toolbox Adam placed it on a nightstand before turning to Eric and raising an eyebrow. "Working with my hands is more than enough for what people call fun, sir. I mean yeah I will miss certain things, but what I like to do is build things and so this place is perfect for me. I know we got ways of relaxation, and it is not the same as being on Earth, but I can manage." But he chuckled as he snatched his book off his bed and tucked it into his coat pocket. "Well then that's a relief, I thought for sure that the dating scene wouldn't be so good." Another chuckle followed by a sigh. "Agreed, my first girlfriend was in Physics. The way she rambled on about her equations...well she had a way with math. Though what branch of science girl interests you the most?" Adam looked at Eric with a small smile, well he had dated girls in Biology, and Chemistry too, they all had ways of speaking of their craft that were cute.

"You should get to know a man named Joey in Radiance commons. My boss knows him well, I'll make sure you meet him. He's about the only one who pushes that kind of paper around up here and has means to transport up new things. We've all pretty much gone tech up here. Come on, I'll give you a tour of your project zone here on the ship. We have to get the rest of your equipment as well." Motioning the kid to follow but he couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh no, the dating scene is quite lively up here. After all, there's only but so many of us up here and it's best to get your pick of the litter. If you're not looking for something serious, plenty of that up here too." Smiling again, "My best friend here is a bioengineer. That's pretty damn sexy if I do say so myself. Though I would say I'm more of a guy who's into mechanically inclined women."

"Well while the rest of you had to work and I wasn't allowed to do anything well I had to find something to amuse myself. VR rooms only take you so far and if I want to 'go for a walk' so to speak any farther than beyond Fleet, I found a way to do so." Watching said planet again. "Yeah...just a big plasma cannon and one shot. I could at least take out a whole continent." Snickering at that notion and more amused that he was in on the same thoughts. "I'll admit I don't understand the mars and moon fad. Never did anything for me." Clicking a few control buttons and relaxing some, closing her eyes. "You hear that? The sweet sweet sound of nothing."

Eric laughed. "I think you took that a different way. Mechanically inclinded skills that is. I'll admit, I've stared at a Meta tech from time to time. But they are also very scary...they can dismantle anything. Though speaking of mechanically inclined in the other way...there are a lot of people up here sporting bioware so I do hope that kind of thing doesn't make you squeamish or anything. Because they will target you and make it their personal mission to mess with you because they find it funny."

Punching in a keycode to a set of large doors. Beyond those doors was quick the large various energy sparking things along with storage tanks of other energy generating materials. Various techs running around and working on other things, designing to their hearts content and what not. "This is the main bay. I don't understand half of what is in here, just that power outages can be caused. No power in Fleet, and everyone dies. Important rule, learn it. I'm sure there's a tech in here that will pick you up and show you specifics but that guy is not me." Gesturing, "Further back there's more sensitive material labs and what not. You may work on some bioware powering and what not as well. This department tends to get harrassed as well. First and only warning."

He blinked as the kid took off like a shot from a laser pistol and he was half expecting the boy to get shocked or something. "Aw, they're always so cute when they get all excited like that." And they pretty much all did. Trevy still went bonkers over things. Eric looked to the annoyed other working techs and then back to Adma, motioning him back over and another tech as well, being handed a very and unexpectedly light steel crate. "Here, put your things in there. Everyone is cool with him taking this stuff right?" Getting general agreement across the floor he let him alone about it. "Careful you'll get yourself shocked that way."

Picking right back up where he left off. "Well, most here are fitted with bioware more by necessity than choice. They have a condition that needs regulating, a severe injury that was beyond normal circumstances of being helped. Yes some choose to outfit themselves, be it for their own fun, need, or whatever word you want to insert into there. Meta is pretty picky about it these days anyway what with the revamp it's gone through."

"Oh don't expect to be working with any bioware anytime soon. You have to get clearance for that and you have not gotten that yet. You have basic clearance. Besides, you'd only be improving their power sources. Meta is very very picky about who does what. It's all rather delicate." Motioning him to follow again as he headed off once more, namely to get the rest of Adam's clearance things from the security station in the ship.

"Me? My best friend that I mentioned is also my boss. Her and I have always knows each other and when she had an idea to come up here to Fleet I was ready to come with her too. I had a hand in her research so it was suiting anyway. To cut out the less fun parts, Earth no longer holds any love for either of us and we came up here and we've never been back. I don't think we ever will go back either. Too much went wrong there for us." Especially her but he didn't like to spew Trevy's business all over the place. She'd hurt him. Or worse, James would hurt him for upsetting him, followed by Lillia who would maim him further.

"Everyone has to be somewhere." SHaking his head at the impatience though, "You have to get the rest of your things, your tests, and what not. You can't play with the fun stuff yet. Besides, you're not even properly trained. We don't bring techs up and just let them loose like wild animals up here."

"Yeah, too many of those and the'll have to rename us to Z.O.O.O.O. What that could possibly stand for is beyond me." He gave a two fingered salute to Eric, a light whir of bioware gears as he fell into step with Eric. "Who's the newbie?"

"Speaking of wild animals..." Rolling his eyes but that was all of it. "Adam Pike, this is Rennell Cryix. If you pretend he's not there, there is a fifty percent chance that he will go away. What are you doing here anyway Rennell?"

"When James isn't allowed to work, I've somehow become his errand boy. I'm not quite sure how that happened, but I get to bounce around and you know me." Still walking he offered a hand to Adam. "Brave new world?"
