Tapping his chin lightly, before giving her a grin and getting up, taking her hand and getting her up as well.
"Alright then. before they drag you back to the office, lets go for a flight. show me what you got, Trevale."
ushering her out of the cafe' with an amused grin. though Eric being on security wasn't too surprising, james did try to keep it to a minimum. after all ehco was a busy project, and very few knew how to handle it.

Adam was a bit nervous, after all this was his first time in space. Yes, his father was an amazing man in the science community, but that did not get his children into space, because they did not belong in space. Adam however, was told he did belong in space because of his work. Now he didn't expect to join those on R.E.I.I.I because he was just a tinker, since that was all he did and nothing more, but it seemed that the people aboard the station, and his father, thought otherwise.
So now he was standing in the air lock as it depressurized, his escort, a lovely woman with long brown hair and a nice figure, stood to his right. As he felt the air change due to the process, his fingers caressed a book that was in his right coat pocket. Ulysses was given to him from his father as a gift, and he planned on reading it on the way up to the station, but he was distracted by his escort. Suddenly the light over the door turned green and Adam left out the breath he didn't know he held. "Finally..." He muttered and stepped aboard after grabbing his one bag. His escort smiled and placed her hand on his chest for a moment...then stepped back into the door he came out of and then it closed. Adam looked through the window for a moment with a small smile before he turned around to the guard who was standing close by. "Hi, I'm..." "Dr. Pike, this way sir." Adam paused and shook his head. "Just Pike, please," He mumbled before following the guard to the small station that was near by, looks like it was time to join up with the elite.

"Trevale? What no Jellybean this time? Surely this must mean that there is mischeift afoot and someone may get demoted in the tanks." Giving him a mock serious tone before following. "I'm serious you throw up and I'm never taking you again." Pointing at him before they were heading to Radiance Docking. A few moments spend changing into a flight suit and what not then before heading out to the docking hanger. "See? Flight sexy. And I talked Noris into letting me have my own craft. Or I'd steal anyone who didn't have theirs locked down. Though her attention did move over to a passenger craft docking...those were few. "Looks like another round of applicants. Just think of the paperwork you'll be going through. Not to mention there indeed was Eric playing check-in man. "Come on." Leading him down the bay stations before getting to hers, the two of them getting walking down the docking tunnel to the craft that was of course hooked to it on the outside of Radiance, getting themselves settled. Him easier than her as she had to hook up to equipment and what not. High tech craft was fun. "And yes, I'm a good pilot so don't even ask."
Eric didn't like it when passenger ships came in. Usually had trouble on them and he had to play his head of FS business. Meta applicant, vendor, applicant, checking people off his list as they were brought to him and he gave out passes and what not. Though the last boy brought to him...well, getting new techs wasn't exactly common place these days. "Adam Pike, Catalyst Division. Good luck with that. You can come with me. The names Eric Donner. Head of Fleet Security and Project Echo First Assisstant. Enjoy your flight or did you pass out or vomit?"

Adam blinked when he was suddenly given a bit of extra attention by a man name Eric Donner, who was of course the head of the Security detail, no surprise there. But then he blinked again when he realized he was told good luck and he raised an eyebrow to that. "Good luck? Why?" He then he made a small gesture to say he didn't care anyways and smiled a bit at the question. "I had...a pleasant flight actually. Managed to stay awake the whole time, still a bit uneasy but I had things to keep myself occupied." So he stood there with his bag slung across one shoulder, after all he didn't know where to go and it wasn't like he could order the head of security to take him anywhere now could he? After all, first impression counted when they needed to count. Though he suddenly found himself distracted as a lady walked by in a flight suit, and damn who was that behind her? Adam blinked a few times but went back to looking at the woman before she disappeared, hey he was going to be living in the station for who knows how long, might as well take what he can see for the best.

Eric could only laugh. "Because Catalyst is always the most crazy. I'm sure you'll have loads of fun but you'll still need loads of luck." Nodding lightly as they continued down the hall. No wonder he'd been pulled to security detail today. "Space is way different but you'll get used to it. What size shoes you wear?" Punching in some security codes on a door before they passed through it. "Dump your bag on the counter and anything you have on you please."

"Really? You think those working on Echo or Meta would be..." Adam shook his head before giving a small smile. "Oh I will, no luck is needed really." Well Adam didn't mind luck, but when it came to his inventions, either they worked or not, there was no need for luck. But Adam followed Eric down the hallway, and he allowed his eyes to travel around the ship interior, it was interesting for him. "Of course, it is like learning how to ride a bike, or swim." A pause as he thought something over then looked back at Eric. "Size nine." Soon enough he found himself in another room, and was asked to take anything aside from his clothing off. So with a small frustrating sigh, Adam placed his bag on the counter and then proceeded to take off his gun, his belt with knives, his goggles, his cigarette, his book and necklace; and anything else that needed to be taken off and placed on the counter. When that was done Adam just turned to Eric and waited, even though he was told something like this would happen he had to follow the procedure which he didn't know.

He went to the store room and rifled around as Adam dumped his junk. A little searching and Eric came back with a pair of boots in hand. "These are your gravity lock boots. Wear them for everything if you can. Never know when the gravity may cut out here. Especially if Catalyst is taking on new members." Handing over the boots, Adam got a quick frisk before Eric turned his attention to his stuff, going through it and almost everything that was considered a security risk had a barcode plate attached to it. Another disappearance into the back and some clicking on a computer heard before he came back with an air powered gun. "Okay, here's the worse part. Hold out your hand and take a breath. Unless you like pain that is. Whatever floats your boat."

"Thanks." Those last few words almost sounded like an insult, but Adam brushed it aside. He then took the boots and smiled a little bit, even though he knew that being weightless was sometimes not fun, he was not going to wear the boots unless he had to since he never floated without gravity before, but he was not going to say that out loud. He then waited as he was quickly frisked and then was left alone. Soon he saw Eric again with some sort of gun, which made Adam blink but then he realized what was going to happen. So quietly he held out his hand and took a deep breath, he had to wonder then about why couldn't the people of the station find a better way to put in the implants, shooting them into the skin seemed so trivial.

"I'm just messing with you, it doesn't hurt." He couldn't help but mess with the new kids. "It's all nanomachine configuration. You information is loaded up, they get a push of air to help get through your skin, form the chip on their own. Doesn't hurt at all." Pressing the barrel tip to the kid's hand and pulling the trigger with a little whoosh of air. "I know all you heard was Fleet jargon. You'll learn that soon enough if you survive here long enough." Putting things away he gave Adam back his things. "Alright then, lets go get you your room and then you can ask and what not to your heart's content. Follow, and don't touch things. Also warning, teleporter may make you itchy or break out in a rash a few times."

"well I would hope so if they gave you a license. and I'm made of sturdier stuff then you seem to think I won't be getting an upset tummy."
Letting her get strapped in and good and setup, before leaning over and pressing a kiss on her cheek. Then a gesture forward.
"Alright, lets see what you got. see how crazy your flying is."

"Don't have to be a good pilot to get one of those. Just one who knows how to push the right buttons and not slam yourself into the side of one of the Fleet ships." She did give a laugh however, "People always think their stomachs can handle such things. If I can make my instructor puke, then I simply feel it is only nice of me to warn others." Nodding to him and it was onto pressing all the right buttons, getting clearance command...and a not so slow port exit from her.
Relaxing for her indeed...something about the speed in the vast emptiness of it all, the room to pull of tricks and turns and whatever she fancied at the moment and she cared not for the stomach of who was sitting beside her. Anyone there would have to deal with her ways. Though she didn't torment him too long with such play before she took to more casual and less trick piloting, giving a look over to him. "Still have our stomach contents?" And turning her look to the big round ball that was Earth. "Oh some days I wish I had a plasma cannon."

Adam raised an eyebrow before he let his breath go, he hated it when people did that to him. "Yeah, I was briefed on how they created the chip on my way up, interesting really." He waited as the nano's were shot into his skin. "Well I'm guessing they really want me to stay for a a long time, or they wouldn't have wanted me to get up here so quickly." Giving a small shrug to that before he put all of his things back on his person. "Sure, lead the way." Adam didn't mind if he got a rash, he was stung by bees, jellyfish, had poison ivy and all the like, wasn't pleasant but it happened anyway. Soon enough he was at the teleporter and he had to smile, he had a feeling he be using it for other than just hopping back and forth between places. When things we ready to go he stepped onto the teleporter and waited, and this would be another first he would have to check off his list of things he needed to do in his life.

"Guess people have to have something to talk about on the way up if they're concious. And let me tell you, when you ship up to Fleet, you very rarely ever ship back down again. Most people either die up here some way, or they eventually get a very...harsh...debriefing and are sent back down to Earth. Of course once back on Earth they may look at you like a walking disease for your time spent here, but that's what you get from the scared Earthlings." Chuckling at that despite how it may sound. "Kid, let me tell you now. You'll know if you want to be here or not very quickly. Lost of esteemed scientists and what not up here. Also...I hope you don't have someone back down there you're too attached to." Waiting for the kid to join him in the teleporter before punching in ship codes and then they were on Innovation. "Welcome to your new home kid." Leading him then to general living and his assigned room.
"And this is your personal space. You can paint the walls, personalize it up or what not. Oh and I suggest you get some velcro for your important thinsg. Everything you need can be requested from Radiance Supply. We don't use money up here, we don't get paychecks either. So you're not going to strike it rich. We're here for the principle of the matter. Questions?"

Adam thought about that statement for a little while before he gave a small nod. "Alright then. Though it sounds weird to be speaking of people like we're aliens." Well if that was the way it was, then he was in it for the long haul since he knew of the good things he could do with his fingers. "Well my father...we're close but he understands that once I'm up here, that's it. He is a man on his own path and I'm on mine, we both respect that we had to part somewhere along the line." Though soon enough he was on the ship he was assigned to, it sort of looked the same as the main section of the whole station, but he knew something was different.
Without a word he followed Eric to his personal room, and it was of decent size which was good enough for him, he had lived in small rooms for most of his life and always wanted one bigger. "Alright, thanks." Again he wasn't too surprised that he was not going to get paid for his work, after all he tinkered for the sake of it, he didn't care of getting paid so back on earth he actually had a full time job before he was "discovered". "Well one actually, is there anyway I can bring the rest of my stuff up here?" Adam wandered over to his bed and set his bag down on it, looking toward the window that showed deep space, it was beautiful.

"As far as they're concerned we have bananas for heads up here." Shrugging though he was very amused by himself. "Long involved process to get a visit down there or anyone a visit up here." But tilted his head at the younger boy. "The rest of your stuff entailing what, may I ask?" Turning his attention to the communicator at his shoulder for a moment, reading the small screen...was Rennell always getting into something?
