More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"You are a strange woman Carina. You would forsake your life to atone for something that would have happened regardless just on a different time scale. I..no..We do not hate you." Alexavier confessed trying to figure her out.

"No..we were different. The meteor made us unstable. We had no say in the matter. We were without a mind. Just a hunk of meat that was constantly shifting. It seems that's what happens when it hits a Chimera. The next phase of Pandora's box some called it. They distilled it even further using it on us to see what would happen. It...freed us, no...caged us in separate beings. We just want to...be whole again." Both of their eyes were cast down.

"You do not know what it is like...seeing the other side of the coin that you normally never see. To have that side ripped out of you. Unable to get it back." Hair shifted to a soft shade of blue.

Shane felt the ground shake beneath him. Either Annie was doing what she does best and pissing off the bad guy, or she was trying to steer them in a different direction. That was something he couldn't allow. Those things were simple minded and would soon revert to their base instinct.

"We're almost out of time. Annie wont like it, but it is imperative that they are made safe before I am."

Trinity felt the ground she listened to Shane, he was right. As the conversation continued next door it seems things were calming down. But is it the calm before the storm?

"It may seem that the mind controller would be too distracted with Annie's talk to really pay attention to us.

There are two plans I have in mind right now. If Annie can calm them down for introductions we could be introduced one at a time. Ako you go last and when you shake his hand shock him. If his sister reacts to that, Theonis, you hold her in the air. Then I'll pull everyone down and we'll be back in Valhalla put the siblings in separate cells and see if we can find a way to help them.

Second plan is if or when things go down the crapper. We'll all go down in the shadow realm. I'll pull down Annie's son and Gidget's body first then switch out Annie and put Shane in her place. Liquid or solid Annie will be going into the shadow realm one way or another."

Gidget took hold of Amanda's hand before she could leave. Her thermal sensors showed high heat buildup on the dermal level.

"Calm down sweetie. Your built up power combined with your sudden emotional agitation is causing you to vibrate to the point where you are radiating heat. Here, let me show you something."

Using a remote built into her body, Gidget queued up the surveillance footage of Amanda's mad dashing around Valhalla. "You've been endowed with super speed. The things falling around you are caused by the air current you are giving off as you rush by."

Gidget was right she did feel that she was warming up. Amanda did get cranky if she got too hot. She looked to the monitor her eyes widened when she saw herself become a blur before her very eyes. The paper clips started circling around one another as she started to take this in. She sat down in the chair. "So... I guess its official... bye bye normal life..." her eyes lowered. She liked being normal she felt she was lucky to be that way with all the meteor showers and so forth.

Gidget recieved a text from Trinity.

[Things got complicated. May need to bring half of the group for now]

"It's not as bad as all that. You can still live a normal life topside so long as...just a moment."

[Am I there? Is it me?]

In truth she didn't really want to know, but the question was on the screen and off to Trinity before she could think about deleting it.

"Sorry about that, so much to do and all. Now, who was the person that gave you this necklace?"

Annie forced a smile about Alexavier calling her strange, "You're right. I am strange, I always have been. But, essentially I am a remarkably selfish person. If you had killed me, it would serve my own purposes. I am responsible for the current time line, I wasn't there to try and save Shane, I couldn't save his sister, I abandoned Valhalla and exiled myself into Daedalus care, I did a lot of things. I have killed a lot of people. I am not a good person, but I am 'good' enough to feel guilty for everything I have done. I never had a sense of self-protection, and I am tired of fighting for something I know I can't have."

"You're right, I don't know what it is like to watch half of my ripped out of me, but I can try and imagine. You two don't know what it is like to watch the person you probably loved the most be turned into a monster, and know even if the timeline would have been different, and it might have happened anyways, you helped the progression of it," Annie said. "They're going to have to separate you two at Valhalla, they'll want to watch you. Your too unstable mentally to be fully trusted. I'll make you a deal, I will try and find a way to return you together, and if it can't be done I will kill you both, for your own sakes and the safety of others. I could probably break you both out if I tried, but I may not. But if I don't come for you right away, I will come for you in time and help you. All I want in exchange if for you both to cooperate with those at Valhalla, don't hurt any of them. I feel I owe you, and when you two aren't going mental I actually like you. So, I want to help. But I am still selfish enough to want something in exchange- even if it is a small thing."

Cassandra was eying the wall to the room next to them. The one where Shane was.

"I see, but you will not separate us. It's for the best that you don't. We are....more stable when together than apart. Nor will we allow you to kill us aside from the point that you no longer can right now. We have the will to live. Each of us wants to live. We are two lives in one. We shall cooperate but will not separated."

"Just because someone wants to live doesn't necessarily mean that someone deserves to or should live," Annie argued. "Shane and the biomass wants to live, but considering his state, I doubt anyone would agree it would be best if he would. Your argument doesn't exactly convince me that if I can't help you both and help you stabilize I should let you live."

She shrugged, "Of course, what do I know about wanting to live? I never had a very big self preservation instinct, not intellectually, and as time has gone by I have had less and less of that desire. I was probably a martyr in a past life or something." Smiling she held out a hand, "So, partners for now? I will agree to help you both if you both agree to cooperate."

"Come to think of it, maybe all of us treated with pure radiation are a bit mental unstable," Annie said, still smiling. "Even me. What a joke we all are. Shane who isn't himself half the time and has another murderous personality taking over him, you two who are the same but individuals, and then me who doesn't even care about her own life and now, I barely blink an eye when I kill someone." She began to chuckle darkly, "The joke is on us- all of us- we're all insane. Well, we should go meet up with the others now that we have an agreement."

[Am I there? Is it me?]

Trinity saw her text. She wasn't sure how to answer it. Especially since she hadn't met Gidget's body yet. In a philosophical stand point Gidget's self is in Vallhalla in an a body she built. It seems the body, at least the way everyone seemed to referred to it "Gidget's Body" seemed to be more of a what instead of a who. Is that what we become when the soul is removed from the body, a what? Just a body. She wondered if they were bringing her around in a tube of some sort but... that's not what the video showed. She was walking around... did she develop a soul of her own? In that case, it isn't Gidget, the who. In the end she would be the best judge for that. Despite Shane's confidence in his work she really wanted to know what happened, exactly.

She looked back at the text and knew exactly what to reply:
[I'll let you be the judge of that wink ]

Trinity continued to listen as the conversation continued to unfold. She took note that they seem to be more stable when together. It seemed as if Annie got them to the point where they were willing to work with Valhalla, and if that's the case, perhaps no action was required.

"It seems Annie has things under control but be prepared to go with plan A if things start to get messy." she said to the others making sure they were on the same train of thought.

Alexavier laughed." Yep you got that right. Insanity is fun though. Who doesn't want voices in their heads?! Oh wait I'm the one who's doing that! Good times.." He said to himself with a sigh. He could feel a certain rumble within Cassandra but let it go.

"Well then let us go." Alexavier stopped after saying this. When he said it he didn't include Cassandra in the 'us'. It came as a shock to him. Just a mistake. That's it. He had just forgotten. It had to be it. It's not like he was beginning to get his own individuality or anything...right?

Cassandra walked towards the wall as she always did. Seems she didn't know of the existence of doors. Simply pushing against it causing it to break open. When it was wide enough she stepped through. Her internal rumbling increased.

Annie sighed, "Voices in my head, no matter how insane I may become I doubt that would happen for me. I practically only think in pictures. And, besides, wasn't Catch 22 something along the lines of if you think you are insane than you really can't be insane." Annie raised a brow at Alexavier, realizing that he hadn't realized that he was seen as an individual and was treated as such. Though, Annie could tell that his and Cassandra's auras were very much essentially the same, they had differences and they were as whole as anyone's else. And, Annie was beginning to realize her own 'personality' was warping in ways that she might call mirroring insanity- like her dreams for revenge and paying it out in blood. She knew she could hold herself together as long as she had Shane and a clear 'good' objective like trying to save him.

She frowned as she saw the others through the hole Cassandra punched through the wall. Even though she was entirely happy at the prospect, she knew that if something happened to Shane, she would abandon Christian to follow her own path. He would be safest in the hands of someone who would be willing to watch him and protect him. Her father was obviously out of the idea, considering he was probably being watched carefully about Daedalus, so that left leaving him with Valhalla. Trinity didn't seem to have much of a 'maternal' instinct and neither did Gidget, but maybe they would at least let him grow up in safety. Anyhow, it wasn't like Christian was smart and strong enough to adapt. Especially if he had happy people around him, and Trinity seemed happy with Theonis.

Sighing she picked up Christian and walked into the room through the hole in the wall and Gidget's body followed. "Yeah, I have things under control. Alexavier, Cassandra, and I have enough similarities that we can get along well enough." In the back of her head she added, yeah somewhat warped sanity. "Anyhow, Trinity, Theonis, and Ako, I would like to introduce you all to my son: Christian Peter Berchant."

Christian glanced at Annie frowning, he had never heard his mom ever make the connection of him with his father. He muttered, "You've never used my full name, before, and I thought I had your last name.

Annie raised a brow, "No, why would he give you my last name? You were his just as much as mine. Besides, it only seems fair I confirm what those at Valhalla may be guessing- the identity of your father, the late Dr. Berchant- one of the many scientists of Daedalus. Oh, and Trinity, I will need to speak to Gidget privately before anyone else gets the chance when we get there."

Shane merely turned his head to the noisy intrusion. He could feel something bubbling up inside of Cassandra. It unsettled him, but not nearly as bad as it had earlier that day. He kept his eyes on her and the male counterpart.


Gidget looked around at all the new people. A vague sense of recognition came with witnessing the new person with the pointed ears and purple hair. It wasn't until she laid eyes on the one man with a mysterious air that she was overcome with something. What this something was she wasn't sure. She did know that it was both enjoyable and frightening all at once.

She blushed and shuffled behind Annie while taking occasional peeks at the young man.

"Sorry about that, so much to do and all. Now, who was the person that gave you this necklace?"

"His name is Samson Henderson....we found each other on Eros-Match.com. I better go... there's a lot of work to be done and it may be good to put this speed to use. Would it be alright if I stop by later?"

If one were to do research on the name 'Samson Henderson' they'd find that there's no such person that worked at Daedalus. It was an alias.


Gidget received another text from Trinity.
[Annie wants to talk to you in private for a moment.]

Theonis looked up at this sudden development. He certainly didn't expect the wall to be used as a door. Instantly he readied himself for anything that would come through. But when the rest of the group came through and didn't do anything he eased up a little. Those two felt strange. Hair constantly shifting colors as if dancing in the wind. Green chemical eyes and they looked so alike. Siblings? Twins? Hard to say for now. Despite Annie's presence he didn't feel at ease knowing that there was a mind controller in the room.

"Good that you have him back Annie and.....Gidget?" He frowned." But I thought.....well...what the?" He looked at her with plenty of questions in mind but held back for now.

Cassandra's fist turned white and trembled at the sight of Shane. Veins in her eyes became visible. Rage filled her face. Her breathing increased as did her instability. There was a certain balance between Alexavier and Cassandra. Always have been. Due to his talk with Annie he gained something. A sense of self. Though it was minuscule it was something that Cassandra didn't have. It disrupted the balance between the two. He became more 'sane' in a way while she regressed.

She launched herself at Shane as she let out a almost primal roar. Striking out with a right hook at his chest there was not the slightest hint she was taking it easy as she did before.

Ako tensed at the abrupt entrance, his hair starting to stand on end as the static feel in the air increased for a moment. He quickly calmed down, mentally reprimanding himself for the momentary lack of control. His recent experiences had left him a bit on-edge, but that was no excuse.

The sight of Gidget made him realize just how close he'd come to messing up. Seeing her on the video screen and seeing her here in front of him were two different things. The feeling of recognition was stronger, and he wanted to reach out an wrap her up in a hug. He stayed put, though, this was still a tense situation, and there would be time for that later. Besides, the girl didn't act like Gidget at the moment, something seemed...off.

Annie saw right before Cassandra stuck and she shoved Christian into Theonis's arms, since he was the closest one and managed to make it between Cassandra and Shane just in time to take the hit herself, forcing her body to remain solid. Feeling the hit to her ribs she winced, grabbing her side, knowing that it was probable that Cassandra managed to fracture something. Annie gasping for breath doubled over and managed, "Attacking him isn't going to win your cause. Even if you don't like how things are going... I agreed to help in any way I can given I thought you two weren't dangerous. Even if it is a lie, and I will know if it is, try and prove that you two are of full control over yourselves. Even if it is superficial sanity that is enough in my book. After all, I'm not one to judge people on classic definitions of 'sane'."

Forcing a smile in her pain she let herself sit down on the floor between the two of them and announced, "Of course, if you want to take another hit at him, Cassandra, you should know I won't be able to step in your way: even if I wanted to."
