Sebastian looked at the woods, then to Ryan. "Wait, why would we need firewood?" he asked with a confused tone.
Valik looked down at her hand, then to her face. He stared at her for a few moments and placed the branch on the ground, realizing the same thing Sebastian did. "What's the real reason you brought me here?" he asked. His voice had changed; it sounded like that of a true demon. It was husky, harsh, and extremely seductive. He was embarrassed of his voice change, along with being in shock from the rushing events.

Selia's eyes widened at Valik's changed voice. "Why did Boothe look so.. so.. uneasy about her? Who was she?" She whispered, looking away and bitting her lower lip. "I replaced her didn't I?" Selia took the branch from Valik and began carving it into a bow, something she did when she was younger. It was one escape for her that helped her in the long run.

Ryan raised an eyebrow. "Why would we need it.." He thought this over for a second, then caught on. Looking at Boothe, he jerked his head at the forest. "I think we should go look for them. Give these two some time to catch up on things." He chose his words carefully as he began walking.

Valik's eyes saddened. He rested his hand on her shoulder. "No, no, no, you weren't," he began. He dropped his hand with a sigh. "Crystal and Sebastian were inseparable from the moment they met. They had met in the woods, they were both hunting. Though Crystal was on the light elves grounds. They were both only fourteen." he shrugged, but continued. "Crystal and I, we were friends as children. We would always meet in the woods." he rubbed at his eyes. With a sigh, he looked back up at Selia. "I was in love with her. But then, when Sebastian was hunting for Boothe, he got to her before I did that day. I hid in some bushes. They just sat and talked for awhile. Then they kissed." his gaze traveled off. "They went out on picnics, hunted together, Crysta even.." he said this part through gritted teeth: "slept over at Sebastian's." he let out. "And as time passed, they got caught by Crystal's father, just after Sebastian had proposed to her. At this time they were seventeen. And, well, her father forbade her from seeing him. He kept his guards on her every movement, had escorts.." he looked down at his hands. "Every since that day, she never spoke to me again. Sebastian had no idea I knew her. Just knew there was a girl I fell for. When he would ask about the 'mystery' girl, I said things didn't work out as planned. You know, I was going to confess how I felt about her that day. I had brought her her favorite flower, and I cooked her favorite food." He let out a breathy laugh. "And I can't even cook." he shrugged and moved his gaze to the ground.

Boothe exchanged glances between the two then nodded and followed Ryan back up the hill.

Selia wrapped her arms around Valik. "I'm so sorry." She whispered, knowing what it felt like to be second best. Jealousy flared in her though. Quickly the feeling overtook her reason. Looking up with a devious smile, Selia stepped back. "So you still?" She voice and expression clashed, angelic and demonic in one. "Because I think, if you do that is, I have an idea that can help us with that. You deserve better then what life has given you Valik." On the last sentence, Selia's face became it's normal mask of emotions, making her look young and innocent.

Ryan waited for Boothe to catch up. "Why do you think Selia dragged Valik out there?" He asked, hoping Boothe had a better idea then him. Selia was unpredictable to him, like the fire she controls. 'It suits her.' He thought, but quickly focused back on Boothe.

Boothe shrugged. "With her, only Eywa knows." he said. Then he gave Ryan a look. "If you didn't know, Eywa is our goddess." he chuckled, still not sure if Ryan was a common villager. "She's so difficult to read." he commented. "I can't tell what's going through her mind, there's too much going on."

Valik winced, narrowing his eyes slightly. "I'm not the jealous type," he took a small step towards her. "Sebastian is happy. I can't destroy that." he shook his head. He really wasn't jealous, just deeply hurt.

Selia nodded. "Never mind then." She breathed out, mesmerized by Valik;s voice. Her eyes glanced down to his feet as he moved closer to her, and her heartbeat picked up. She couldn't tear her gaze away from his eyes. "Just never mind then." She repeated, obviously dazed and confused. Fire licked her fingertips with her heartbeat, looking like small sparklers on her hands.

Ryan raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean you can't tell? Are you a mind reader?"

Valik tilted his head at her, and stepped even closer. "Do I make you nervous?" he said teasingly, in his seductive voice. With a slight laugh, he took his step back.

Boothe gave him a curious look. "Oh! I thought you knew!" he exclaimed. "Yes, I am." he chuckled. Finally they made it to the top of the hill. A few yards distanced them from the forest.

Selia laughed. "Not at all." She said, choking on her laughter. Taking a step closer to Valik, Selia smiled alluringly. "Do I make you nervous?" Her voice was soft and seductive, but nothing compared to Valik's.

Ryan turned to the forest as he heard Valik say something and Selia laugh. He turned to Boothe and then began to silently make his way up to the forest edge. He heard Selia ask Valik something, her voice softer then usual.

Valik gave her a strange look, realizing she was serious. "Strange question." he said with a smirk. Then Boothe and Ryan came from the trees.
Boothe looked at the two, but mainly giving Valik an impatient look. "What are you two doing?" he asked. "We need to get going."

Selia looked at Ryan and Boothe. "Sorry we kept you waiting. Valik was helping me with my bow." She explained flawlessly, bending down to pick up her almost complete bow. She smiled and looked at Ryan and Valik. "I don't know about you, but I think it's time for some fun. Race back to the village?"

Ryan shock his head at Selia's explanation, and at her challenge. "No thanks. Energy saving at it's greatest is walking right now, but you go ahead." He looked at Boothe. "Well let's go then. We're losing daylight."

Valik was confused with Selia's actions. He walked next to his brother, so Boothe could read his mind, showing him everything that happened, besides him admitting his love for Crystal. Boothe nodded his head at Valik, showing him he was done.
Eventually they made it back to the village, where Crystal was giggling like a little school girl. Just like she used to. Valik thought. The two were sitting on a fallen tree, talking about what each of them has missed, blah blah blah. Boothe motioned his hands upward. "Alright, love birds. Let's get a move on." he said. He hopped on his horse, struggling more than last time. He adjusted his bolster sword in the pockets of the saddle. "Come on, come on." he said teasingly.
Sebastian lifted Crystal onto his horse, then got on in front of her. She wrapped her arms around his waist tightly and rested her head on his shoulder, and they continued their discussion with laughs, shy giggles, and nervous smiles.

Selia made a face of disgust behind them and began to run, quickly overtaking everyone. After making it about 10 miles ahead of everyone, she skidded to a halt. Breathing heavily, Selia began to continue carving out her bow. She finished to soon, each one of her movements being faster then the last. Frustrated tears began to fall down her face. Even if she couldn't remember what had happened between her and Sebastian, she knew she had felt something for him. Finally giving up on making a new bow, Selia tossed it aside and began to circle around where she thought the horses were, checking for anything of interest.

Ryan smiled at Selia's facial expression. Mounting his horse and coming up next to Boothe, he laughed. "I swear she is more confusing then the riddles of Glycira... That's my mother's home land. It's pretty much a carnival of riddlers and jokesters." He explained.

Crystal lifted her head in concern. "Is she okay?" she asked with a slight frown. Sebastian nodded in response. She couldn't remember anything, right? So how could this affect her? Sebastian continued talking to Crystal. They talked of how they used to stay in the woods all day, hunt together, and everything else. Crystal eventually relaxed and placed her head back on is shoulder as Selia was in sight. "Selia." Sebastian called. "Why'd you do that? You could have gotten lost." he stopped when coming a few feet away from her. "You can ride with Ryan or Boothe. You don't need to be walking in your condition." he nodded back at the two.
Boothe chuckled. "So I see." he replied. "You have interesting beliefs. I have studied various religions and cultures, including that of yours." he nodded slowly as he looked forward, his body slowly going up and down from the horse. He pulled against the reins and stopped next to Sebastian. Valik was back in his giant wolf form. "Or you can ride Valik." he chuckled.

Selia shrugged. "I just didn't want us to run into anymore trouble. And I'm fine walking." She said, gritting her teeth as she began to walk again. The moss had broken, leaving her back free to move. "Well come on." Selia said impatiently. "We're wasting time." A sharp crack came from her back, but she kept walking, just biting her tongue to hold in the screams of pain that threatened to escape.

Ryan shook his head. "Confusing. Hard headed. She's just full of surprises," He muttered, hearing the snap. "So Crystal, how did you end up in all that mess back there?" Ryan changed the subject smoothly, honest curiosity painted his voice, even though he never looked at her. Even if Sebastian couldn't see it, he could tell Selia was hurting. Coming up to her, Ryan just silently leaned down and took her hand. "Get on." He mouthed, stopping the horse and helping her.

Selia looked at Ryan coldly, then saw the understanding sympathy in his eyes. She bit her lip and got on the horse, burying her face in between his shoulder blades. "Thank you." Selia barely breathed this.

Crystal lifted her head. "This is the village I was born and raised in." she explained. "Where, my father kept me." she said, a bit slowly. Sebastian cleared his throat, signaling it was a sensitive subject.
Valik walked next to Ryan's horse, moving each strong leg gracefully. His slow breathing could be heard through his giant nostrils. He stood as tall as the horse now, and he wasn't even full-grown, though the neko-machines would always be much larger than him.
