Crux stood against the doors, almost unable to believe what he was seeing. Inwardly he cursed himself for not acting sooner. Something had changed in Luferius' nature, that much was certain. He also knew that this was much too stressful for the young queen to handle on her own. Drawing out his flute, Crux began a tune silent to most ears. Gentle visions floated on the notes to try easing the tension within the area. As he did this, the servant silently drew a dagger and walked slowly toward Ryn's turned back.

Ryn's move caught Ari off guard and she struggled to try to move away.
"Ryn! What are you-?"
She paused to listen to his instructions, still a little wary about him. She turned to try to look at him, her face showing how deeply concerned she was as she attempted to take a few steps back.
"Ryn...but you have Nyx's power in you as well. Please tell me why you did this? Those guards were people too. How could you have just killed them?"
She felt hurt by his actions and desperately wanted to understand the reasoning behind them.

Once again, Ryn spoke into her mind, the barrier crackling with pure energy.
Once we get out of here, I will tell you everything that has happened, up until this point.
Suddenly, Ryn and Ari vanished into thin air, along with the barrier.

Luferius' eyes dimmed to the color of dried blood as his lust for vengeance saturated them with a deeper pigment. A snarl of fury ripped from his throat as he stepped forward to stand where Ryn had been only moments earlier.
"DAMN! We must find him at all costs!"

Damien sighed. He knew as long as she had the pendent she was queen there was no escaping it. "Yes sir."

Nodding to Damien, Luferius turned to look out the window onto the grounds below. "You are Captain now, Damien. The orders are yours to give. If you need my assistance, I will give it to you without hesitation."

"Sorry. I am just used to following your orders." Damien walked out the door and called all the guards. "ALL OF YOU FIND THE INTRUDER!! HE HAS TAKEN THE QUEEN!! FIND HIM DEAD OR ALIVE!!"
Damien walked back to Luciferius. He stood to him shoulder to shoulder, "I do not how you have changed, but I do hope your loyalty still lies here with your men and this kingdom. I find out Nyx took your soul it'll be the end of our friendship."

"I can assure you my friend, my soul is mine own. I will remain loyal to this kingdom as I have for the past three millenia." Looking out into the dead of the never ending night was soothing to Luferius' troubled soul. "What now, Damien? This is quite the predicament."

"Yes it is..." Damien looked at him. "Knowing her, she'll leave with Ryn despite our warning. We need a new ruler to rule. Does the pendent really have a say who rules?"

He nodded. "Indeed it does. That pendant holds not only the power, but also the souls of all the former rulers of this Kingdom. It's choice is law. Why her, I haven't the slightest. Perhaps I should find Tuomas. He knows much more about the history and records of this Kingdom." He turned from the window to face Damien once more. "Whether Ryn likes it or not, she is not the same girl he knew."

"The man and the girl are chasing a past that will never come back." Damien sighed. "Let us find him together. Last I remember you sent him out. He must be in the dining hall, pining over the lost of his lab. Why not challenge the girl for it?"

Luferius began heading to the door with Damien. "I wish to know more about why this choice may have been made before I take any measures as drastic as you say. Besides, why waste such a lovely being? Would be a pity to have her blood on my hands."

"Heh...if I would've known better, I'd say you've taken a liking for the girl. Besides...she is the reason why Ryn barged his way into here. I won't forgive her for that." Damien snarled as the two men walked off to the dining hall.

After all had left the room, Cux looked around at the empty space and sheathed the dagger that he still held.
"Well, this could have turned out better." The servant shook his head and walked to the front entrance, casting one last glance at the empty throne before leaving.

Returning to the throne room, Tuomas fumbled with a few books. Finally he set these onto the stone floor and adjusted his glasses before beginning. He quickly found the page he sought and began to make intricate symbols onto the ground with a small piece of chalk.
